Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS1 at Launch?

Dudditz09

I remember getting it for Christmas the year it launched, what a machine, I loved it.

Wasn't long before an illicit trade sprung up at school, with one lad selling games for £5 you could play using the paper clip trick.

Re: Round Up: Total Lack of Mafia: The Old Country PS5 Reviews Is a Red Flag

Dudditz09

I'll likely still pick it up after we get some impressions on console performance, I enjoyed 1 and 2 (never bothered with 3) and am bored to tears of games expecting weeks of my time to complete them, and open worlds full of filler that adds little.

I love pretty much anything to do with the Italian Mafia and a focussed, linear story with that setting is right up my street.

Re: Rumour: Sony to Put More First-Party PS5 Games on Xbox

Dudditz09

"Corporation changes strategy to make more money"

Hardly surprising, couldn't really care less, if they do. Hardly makes a compelling point to own either console however, and given they are pretty much just less powerful, convenient PCs with a few bells and whistles, I wonder if the inevitable will be in time they will both abandon hardware and focus on dev/publishing.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2025 Announced

Dudditz09

I've nearly bought Lies of P a million times but then remember it's a Soulslike and I don't have the patience in my old age to master them.

But I will definitely be giving it a try, with the intention of buying the DLC if I get along with it

Other 2 games, meh

Still a cracking month though

Re: Best inFAMOUS Games

Dudditz09

Man, how I loved those first two games.

I actually had the first, played about 10 mins and traded it.

Bought it back a couple of years later and loved it.

Second Son was OK but those first two were fantastic.

Re: Hands On: MindsEye Is a Boring Mess

Dudditz09

Glad I skipped this, have watched a few let's plays this morning and it looks awful performance, frames rates, bugs.

Hopefully in a year or so we will be looking at it a bit differently with a bit of work. But can't see me parting with cash for this effort any time soon

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 583

Dudditz09

Completed The Precinct, very enjoyable game so have now moved on to Deliver at all Costs... Which is enjoyable enough, could be better though... So much loading.

Also sprinkling in some FH5 and will be looking to fire up a new campaign on Civil 7 on the PC seeing as a new patch is out.

And my new Chroma Dual Sense just arrived so will need to give that a bit of use.

Have a good one!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 582

Dudditz09

Bank holiday weekend baby!

The Precinct for me, gonna get that finished up today hopefully, have enjoyed it so far, really fun game and been ideal this week WFH, can just pop on, do a shift over lunch.

I have finally caved and bought FH5 despite already having played it to death, so will no doubt he firing that up.

Also picked up Deliver At All Costs this week as well, once I am finished up with The Precinct that will be next.

Re: PlayStation Stars Rewards Program Shutting Down, Sony Confirms

Dudditz09

The last one to offer a reward program and bailing in it already.

I've not had the most out of it, just checked, £65. It was handy to pair with cheap PSN vouchers to take the cost of games down but overall was pretty poor.

Always used to annoy me when I would buy a game and a few days later it would be on a campaign that would get points, happened recently with Clair Obscur. Not a huge deal, not like it was a great rewards program anyway but still, was better than nothing.

Watching how console manufacturers are carrying on at the moment is making me feel like I'm no longer the target customer type for them however, and although the removal of a poor rewards program doesn't seem like a massive issue in the grand scheme, it's another little thing that will ultimately force me out of this gaming space.

Re: 55+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Multiverse of Games Sale

Dudditz09

Nothing for me but reading the list is a fair bit of scrolling. I like the fact that you list them with a nice bit of info, could that be expandable though? So if we want to read more we can? If that makes sense?

Anyway, this has reminded me how much I would kill for a new inFamous game along with remakes/remasters of the first 2 (and 3 as well, why not).

I mean we have remastered TLOU about a million times now, why not show inFamous some love

Re: Even More PS5 Price Increases Being Considered by Sony

Dudditz09

Ah, love the stench of politics permeating through everything, particularly rancid American politics.

Politics aside, if this is the state of play in the console market then I think unfortunately the Playstation will be my last.

I've said it in comments on other articles, the days of me having the time or inclination to sit down and dedicate a chunk of my life to the next 100 hour plus AAAA (🤨) blockbuster are long gone. And well given the fact that we seem fond of remastering anything and everything this gen, there just not much of the way of anything to really keep me hooked.

With the exception of a few, they no longer hold any interest for me. I find myself more drawn to smaller indie titles that tend to be more respectful of my time and diminishing attention span, or a good strategy game.

I actually play more on my PC now that I do on my PS5 and can see that trend continuing to be fair.

Re: 64% of PS5 Players Are Glad Mafia: The Old Country Isn't Open World

Dudditz09

I don't mind an open world but I am one of the 64%

Open World games are fine, 100 hour long open world games full of fetch quest fillers, I don't have the time for that anymore and if I'm honest, I'm probably burnt out of that type of game.

So yeah, I'm down for more story driven, linear, shorter games. Allows me time to actually complete them instead of chucking them to the side when they inevitably bore me asking me to go get a doodah from big Mike at the other side of the bloody map
