I was gonna pre order then didn't, then would probably have bought today if the reviews weren't so iffy, but they were so I didn't.
I'll probably pick it up once it's sub £30, I'm in no rush, plenty to play and plenty coming up that interests me, would have had to knock it out the park for me to get it today really.
Yeah this will be a "wait for a sale" effort for me, plenty coming in over the rest of the month and Jan that will get my attention before this. Was on the verge of a pre order as well but glad I held off, release day review embargo is never a great sign.
I'll see what the reviews are like for Callisto Protocol, I'll have The Witcher to work through this month anyway so I'm not really in any rush and might wait for a sale.
Otherwise, quite interested in Forspoken, will see when it gets closer to release. If Monster Hunter is a go for January then I'll most likely be picking that up
I was concerned once it was mentioned the review embargo lifts on release day, tends not to be a good sign.
I nearly pre ordered a while back, glad I held off. I'm still interested in the game but will probably pick it up in the new year once it has been patched a bit.
Nothing for me, I've picked up FIFA (when I said I wouldn't) PGA 2k22 and The Cult of Lamb last week and Callisto Protocol and the NG upgrade for TW3 are on the Horizon so I'm keeping the wallet closed for this lot.
Only on the 3rd zone but bar the pop in I've found it quite enjoyable, although the random change to 2d side scrolling on parts of the 3rd zone I found quite jarring. Not been any glaring issues I've seen that have impacted my gameplay
I never completed Nioh 1. Maybe gives me an excuse to actually turn my PS5 on for something other than Cities Skylines (I've been in a gaming funk the past couple of months) and maybe finish that up then get into the second installment
My wee man has it on pre order, I believe it's cross gen bundle (really should check), so I'll no doubt give it a run, not much else around at that point that interests me.
From a selfish point is of view I find it fascinating to see some of the raw, behind the scenes stuff that these leaks offer, early versions etc and I can appreciate them for what they are, early works, rough around the edges, subject to change, possibly in big ways.
But in the grand scheme of things, it's really 💩 for devs when their work is leaked like this, for a multitude of reasons.
It would be grand if people didn't do this sort of thing though, it really doesn't help anyone, it will probably just lead to more delays.
Is it surprising? No, not really. As the article has said, everything is going up and gaming obviously isn't immune from increased production costs etc.
Still galling however to see hundreds of millions, even in to the billions, of profit being made across various sectors/industries and the little man is the one to bear the burden.
But let's not get too political.
Their delcine in sales surely comes as no surprise what with lockdowns/restrictions easing across the world, that was an artificial bump and you would hope people at the top are smart enough to realise that. Is it a good enough reason to bump the price? I'd say not, surely it's more of a correction. But then that's not gonna fly with the shareholders.
I'm also on the fence as to whether there is justification in terms of the product itself. See, the price rise doesn't effect me, I got mines day 1 and whislt I do enjoy my PS5, I'd hardly say it's a compelling offer at this moment.
Most of the big games have spanned the generational divide. The ones that have been PS5 exclusive, well the ones I have played, I'd hardly say would be enough to sell me on the console alone. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them but I still think Astro is the best exclusive I have played and that was a tech demo effectively.
As the article says also, bar Spiderman and Wolverine, do we have anything major on the horizon that will draw in the punters? Exclusives I mean, first party.
But then it's a luxury purchase, not essential like electricity, food or petrol, so really, whilst it's not great, in the grand scheme of things there are far bigger issues in society at the minute (yeah I know, it's a gaming site, but still...)
@James_42 yeah add me to the list of those who don't care for GoW.
This will be getting a pre order because the wee man wants it (he's spending his money on it to be fair so that's up to him) but I'll no doubt take it for a spin...
Looking forward to this, could do with a new golf game to play with the old man.
Hopefully a bit of competition in the market with EA making a come back might push them both to release great games, although I'm not optimistic about EA given its EA and their last effort with Rory was horrendous
The problem with the internet is that anyone can say anything and if it gains enough traction, it soon becomes fact, regardless of the actual facts.
And then, if the actual facts go against what you believe, well you can claim it's all lies, disinfo, fake truth... Whatever the cool kids are calling it these days.
I chose not to get Premium, I still have all the old consoles (Excluding Vita) and whilst I'm not at all big on retro gaming, if I ever feel the need I can just crack out a game and play it on whatever system, or pick it up cheap enough.
Because of that, Premium offered nothing for me but I would be hugely disappointed if I had subbed, it seems to offer barely anything (streaming and trials? No thanks)
Extra seems to be where it's at, I know Premium cost wise isn't a huge amount more annually but even for that relatively small amount, I still don't see it as anywhere close to worth it.
I personally couldn't care less about trophies, such a pointless addition to gaming IMO but some people get proper worked up about them so fair enough.
If people want to buy these and there is some sort of market for them, I'm sure Sony is happy to keep them there and take there, albeit small, cut.
Can't see how it really harms anyone them being there.
THPS and LAD have both been games I have had my eye on in the past, TH just pips it as the one I'm looking forward to most, loved that game back when I were a lad.
I suppose it's just one of those things, gaming can be beneficial providing it doesn't take over your life.
I balance it with music, books, meditation, dog walks, horse riding, I game alone, I game with my kid, I go online with the old man.
If it was my main or only hobby then I could see how it could very quickly become problematic.
That said I also see how it could help people in a bad place to get a break from whatever is causing them pain or hurt in their lives, as @naruball mentioned above. Glad things have taken a better turn for you, never nice to hear of someone struggling.
Like A Dragon - was on my list until I suffered Yakuza burnout from playing 0 then all the remakes, ended up stopping after 4 so this is a good reason to get back into what was one of my favourite series.
Little Nightmares - almost pulled the trigger a few times but ended up with other games instead (off the top of my head it has lost out to F.I.S.T, Lost in Random and Kena the last few times I have been looking for a wee indie to play) so that's paid off.
Tony Hawk's - Loved these as a kid, I was never a skateboarding type, preferred my blades but man those games were top notch. Actually buzzing about this.
I'm not sure I trust anything Liam has to say about anything after yesterday's nonsense... Partly joking...
This does look good and with it being a si gle player experience, it has me interested. Probably not day 1 interested but interested enough that I'll probably pick it up at some point.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise Confirmed for PS5, PS4 Release, Out 20th January
I'll be picking this up

Re: Rumour: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for December 2022 Leaked Early
I actually have never got around to playing ME so will be sure to add that to the ever growing list of games I've yet to get to.
Biomutant, meh, will add it an probably never get round to it, same with Devine Knockout
Re: Site News: Would You Kindly Fill in Our Reader Survey?
Christ, I felt old picking my age bracket.
Anyway done, I look forward to my tailored ads and custard creams.
Re: PS Store Sees Even More PS5, PS4 Games Reduced for Cyber Monday
Nothing for me, I've picked up FIFA (when I said I wouldn't) PGA 2k22 and The Cult of Lamb last week and Callisto Protocol and the NG upgrade for TW3 are on the Horizon so I'm keeping the wallet closed for this lot.

Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Has Full DualSense Support, Graphics Options, New Camera, Controls, Photo Mode, Much More
One of my favourite games, been itching for another playthrough and thankfully, this is looking good. Will defo be getting stuck in over Xmas.
Re: Deal: PlayStation Gift Cards Are Now 15% Off for Black Friday in the UK
Tempted to use this to pick up dying light 2
Re: PS Store Black Friday Sale Live, Here Are the Best PS5, PS4 Deals
FIFA almost suckered me in but I'm gonna resist for this year...
Otherwise not much for me, all the heavy hitters I'm interested in I already own.
Seen Cult of Lamb is around £17, I've been swithering on that for a while so might pick that up.
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Has 'Dozens' of Improvements, Integrated Mods, and New Netflix Show Content
Stupidly excited for this. Been holding off on a other play through since this was announced.
Will get Sonic Frontiers finished then sink an ungodly amount of time into this.
Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off
Wee man is a big Sonic fan and pre ordered this on his PS4.
As it came with the PS5 version I've downloaded it and will give it a bash tomorrow. Never been a fan of 3D Sonic but I'll check it out
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Version News Coming 'Soon', Says a Cheeky CDPR
Itching to player this again, think I have a out 300 hours over 2 runs (pre and post DLC).
Been close to starting again a few times but waiting for the update.

Re: Poll: Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?
It's not a deal breaker for me but I've found now I'm more used to 60fps, I find going back to 30fps can be quite jarring.
I'll generally pick frame rate over graphics if there is an option nowadays
Re: Poll: Will You Buy the DualSense Edge PS5 Controller, Now We Have a Price?
If I win the Euro millions tonight I'll maybe get a couple day one.
But since that ain't happening, it's a no from me.
Re: Need for Speed Unbound Adopts a Bold New Look in First PS5 Screens
Gotta say I quite like the look for this.
Interested to see more
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 446
Nothing today, out for the football, nothing tomorrow as there will be pretty much a full day of NFL with the London game.
At most I'll make a little time for some Switch gaming with the wee man.
Re: Hands On: You Know What? Sonic Frontiers Might Actually Be Okay
My wee man has it on pre order, I believe it's cross gen bundle (really should check), so I'll no doubt give it a run, not much else around at that point that interests me.
Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for October 2022 Leaked
Would be happy with Hot Wheels, good craic for me and the wee man

I don't think I've bought anything since getting extra. And can't see that changing here
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Version Still Set for This Year, Says CDPR
Can't wait to sink another 200 or so hours into this, and that's just Gwent.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?
Bought and played it on PS3 & PS4.
No interest in paying to play it again. Might take it for a spin if it ends up on Extra

That's almost tempting enough for me to actually play an online game... Not quite, but almost.

He's another who couldn't give AF about GoW 😂
Re: Cities: Skylines Plazas & Promenades Expansion is All About the Pedestrian
Yup, I'll no doubt be picking this up at some point
Re: Days Gone Movie Reportedly Being Produced, Outlander Actor Lined Up
Will we get a remake before the movie launches? Definitive way to play it, for all the new fans and what not.
I joke, I joke.
I'm a fan of zombies, all the old Romero movies... But even I feel it's a tired genre at the minute.

Re: Devolver Debunks Ludicrous Rumour Claiming Sony Paid to Keep Cult of the Lamb Off Xbox Game Pass
@get2sammyb very true, video game rumours are probably way down the list of bull that people create a storm over, but no topic is off limits it seems.

Re: Poll: Is PS Plus Premium Good Enough?
@LazyLombax ah they are all hooked up in the kids room, he uses them more than I do. He has and old Mega Drive, NES... I could go on.
He loves retro gaming 😂

Re: Disco Elysium Fans Should Keep an Eye on New PS5, PS4 Game Broken Roads
Right to the top of my list this goes. DE is up there with one of the very best games I have played, everything about it was fantastic.
Hopefully this can come close to it, like @Mostik said if it's even half as good we are on to a winner.
Re: PS Plus Extra Games for August 2022 Available to Download Now
@Momoghal786 how are they making fools of us 😂

It's is a great month IMO, very impressed.
THPS and LAD have both been games I have had my eye on in the past, TH just pips it as the one I'm looking forward to most, loved that game back when I were a lad.
Re: Nearly 80% of All PS5, PS4 Games Are Bought Digitally
I'm digital only, I don't care for a collection of discs taking up space and they just act as validation checks anyway as far as I am aware.
The only things I buy nowadays in physical form is music, for albums I really like, and books, save for a few kindle efforts hear and there.
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Members Get All Main Yakuza Games Before End of 2022
@Galo81 yeah the story follows through (unsure about LAD though), so start with 0 and go from there
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Members Get All Main Yakuza Games Before End of 2022
Still got 5 & 6 to play, as well as LAD, which I'll probably now claim and keep until I have completed 5 & 6.
Such a great series, I love the seriousness of it all one minute, the next you can be doing something batshhhh crazy.
Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for August 2022 Announced
Well now that's it's officially official I gotta say, that's a good month IMO

Re: There's 'No Comparison' Between The Last of Us on PS5 vs PS3, Says Dev
@Milktastrophe I've already got my wallet out 😂
Re: There's 'No Comparison' Between The Last of Us on PS5 vs PS3, Says Dev
@Milktastrophe I'd be interested in seeing how it would go over if he was replaced with a cat...
Edit - in fact, I'll be honest, I'd probably give them the £70 for that.
Re: There's 'No Comparison' Between The Last of Us on PS5 vs PS3, Says Dev
@Richnj now, that's a point I would be interested in hearing the devs thoughts on.
