Shinobi: Art of Vengeance has always looked super promising in the lead-up to its launch, but it seems it'll only get bigger and better with future DLC.
SEGA has announced that the 2D action game will receive a SEGA Villains Stage in early 2026.
The DLC will add a series of new adversaries to the game, with the first announced enemy being none other than Sonic the Hedgehog's nemesis, Dr. Eggman.
The image in the post above teases two other iconic SEGA villains you'll be able to fight, and they'll be announced later down the line.
You'll be able to grab this DLC as part of the Digital Deluxe edition of the game, but the content pack will presumably be available standalone as well.
It's not clear if this villains DLC is the only content update planned for the game, or if more will follow afterward.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is out very soon, on 29th August 2025. Are you excited for it, and for the DLC? Dive kick the comments section below.

Although Streets of Rage 2 was my favourite game at the time, whenever I think back to those halcyon Megadrive days that saw me through pretty much my whole Comprehensive School years… it’s The Revenge of Shinobi that stands out the most. I’m looking forward to this!
@graymamba Flashbacks of not being able to save still haunt me to this day. Soo many good games from the mega drive era though.
This would have excited me as a kid…
Ahhh, the heck with it, it excites me already now.😆
The game is already looking great. Pretty cool to have Eggman as a boss character. I definitely want to know who the other villains are.
Man, I loved Shinobi on my Megadrive, so this is already pre ordered.
Shinobi 3 was peak, can't wait for Art of Vengeance
This might shape up to be the best Shinobi game yet. It looks absolutely incredible.
Free or pay DLC?
So many great games releasing, need more time to get to em all.
That's cool! It'd be funny if Spiderman made a return in the Playstation version
I love it when games get DLC announced before the game has even released. Its a great way to know you can wait for a game to buy it.
