It's one of these things that I would likely get and then not use all that much because I would prefer to play my games on the bigger screen, so I don't feel like it worth dropping £200 on really.
And the lack of being able to hook up a Bluetooth headset without purchasing a Sony one is annoying but clearly to push you into buying their headsets. I own a pair of Sony headphones which cost me a decent amount, I'm not about to splash out on anything further.
I have loved GTA ever since picking up the first one on my old PC.
Created in my home town, I was well under the age for playing it but what a game. I've played everyone since.
Maybe it's my age now, or maybe it the long drawn out "will they/won't they" reveal it this week nonsense that has taken over some aspects of social media, but I'm not feeling the hype for this like I used to. Or the fear it will be a micro transaction filled poop show.
Maybe when it actually get closer to releasing I might be excited.
I had £20 in stars vouchers and picked up discounted PSN cards so I think I ended up getting the Deluxe Version for around £53.
I'm quite happy with that. And I agree, not every games has to be a slog fest with 100 hours plus.
I love BG3 and another of my faves was the Witcher 3. I'll put in over 100 hours with BG3 and I put in around 200 with TW3. Persona 5 as well took me over 100 hours. But likewise I also found I fell out with AC games because they felt like a slog that was too fatiguing to finish. HZD was the same for me in that regard and I don't even know how long that plays 😂
But at the same time I have just as much fun with a shorter game such as this. Rift Apart was also fairly short but I considered it value for money.
It's not about how many hours, it's about the total package for me, first and foremost I want to have fun and if a game has been fun then I will likely consider it worth the money I have paid.
Can't say I was expecting it to be anything too innovative, as many have said, only so much you can do with Spider-Man.
Sounds like there are some decent improvements in there, can't wait to get my mitts on it, had a great time with the first two and there has been a good bit of time since I played them that it won't feel like I have Spidey fatigue.
I've been enjoying it and as I said in the "what are you playing this weekend" comments, I've probably had more fun with this than I have either FH4 or 5.
If you like arcade racers and can see past the pure cheese dialogue, it's defo worth a punt.
I've just picked up The Crew Motorfest because I wanted something similar to FH on PS5 and to be fair, I'm enjoying it much more than FH4 & 5 although it cannot get to grips with the planes 😂
So it will be between that and BG3 this weekend for me, the weather is miserable so cant see me stepping outside other than to drag the dogs out.
I loved the early games, found the more recent entries too long winded and bloated, I never did try Valhalla because of that, and the theme for that was right up my street as well.
I'm tempted to give this a go, fancy it as an Xmas pick up to kick back and chill with over the break, hopefully a wee nostalgia kick.
Callisto Protocol was on my list to buy but the reviews put me off. When it's been on sale I have had other stuff I have been into but I'll likely get to it some point
@Kidfunkadelic83 I thought the same, knowing little about D&D and whatnot, but honestly, read a few guides, watch a couple of beginners guides on YouTube and you will be fine, you will get the hang of it in no time
Baldurs Gate 3, probably a little bit of Baldurs Gate Three to break it up a bit and some BG3 if I get bored of doing that.
In all seriousness I was gonna fire up Starfield today to give it a try but in all honesty, as much as I was quite looking forward to it, my hype for it has wained somewhat because of Baldurs Gate 3. I might get to it a some point but looking at the release schedule over the next month or so, it's fallen so far down my list I can see me never actually getting to it. Looks like just another Bethesda game from what I have seen, not overly concerned that I'll be missing out on much at all if I don't ever get around to it.
I have had it since the weekend as I bought the deluxe version and I am loving it, haven't been able to devote a huge amount of time to it but had a good couple of hours tonight.
Looking forward to a quiet weekend to get a decent run at it.
I have a feeling it's going to be one of those games that leaves me feeling like nothing can match it for a while afterwards. Much like when I completed The Witcher 3, took a while for anything to hit the spot after that.
I have been playing this since Saturday night and what's really annoying me at this point is that I have a job and kids, cause they mean less play time.
Superb game, I've yet to really scratch the surface but I am loving it so far.
I actually think Starfield can wait at this point, I'm gonna be on BG3 for a while.
I have no interest in any of them, will no doubt add them all to my library and never play them.
To be fair though I've just started BG3, Starfield in a couple of days, Cyberpunk DLC and with all the changes, that will need a new playthrough, Cities Skylines 2 and Spidey 2 in October. And I'll probably pick up EAFC24 to see what that is like.
So I will have plenty to keep me amused over the next 2 months
I'm out completely once my Extra sub is done, I don't use PS Plus enough to even justify even having essential tbh.
Prices rises are bad enough at the minute, companies the world over recording record profit whilst people struggle. It's price gouging, pure and simple. We accept it so it carries on.
Yes gaming is a luxury and PS Plus will be treat as such by me, hopefully many who are unhappy follow the same train of thought but I doubt it.
I've never been one to overly bash Sony, or any gaming company for that matter, they are business doing business things, you may agree with them, you may not. I own all 3 consoles at the minute, as well as a Steam Deck to scratch my strategy itch when needed, I'm lucky in that regard that I can afford to own them all, I certainly don't fanboy for any console neither, I'm 38 ffs 😂
So it's not a negative on Sony, the state of gaming at the moment is down the toilet at the minute, in my opinion of course.
I have online for all 3 consoles, those days will be ending across the board, maybe with the exception of the Switch as the kid uses it a lot.
Once this gen has run it's course I'll be moving over to PC, Sony hasn't wowed me this gen (same can be said for XBox although I am looking forward to Starfield), there have been a couple of good exclusives but to be honest it's nothing that I couldn't wait to play on a PC down the line.
I'll be honest, I don't feel I get bang for my buck personally for my £83 Extra as I hardly use it, but that's on me, not Sony. Objectively it is probably value for money.
I used it a bit at the start but now, I've been too busy with games I have bought that aren't on the service.
Mines runs until next summer so I'll leave it for now but I won't be renewing, certainly not for £100 and I don't really see much point in jumping on another year right now neither.
Thankfully there is a poop-tonne of stuff coming out over the next couple of months that will keep me more than busy, so I'll add these into the library and no doubt never touch them.
This is definitely on my list but dunno if it will be a day one for me, got a few other things I wanna pick up come October and there is BG3 in a couple of weeks.
Not for me at this stage, not viable for me to be buying two of the 'same' console per gen, would be more likely to buy an Xbox (which I generally do later in the gen) just to play the few exclusives that has.
That said if mid term refreshes are now gonna be a thing, which it seems they are, likelihood is I just don't jump on a PS6 at launch (if it happens in a traditional form) and just hang on for a couple of years until the Pro version is released.

Re: 14 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week
Meh for Extra. Will give Teardown a bash, that will be about it.
Re: Persona 5 Tactica (PS5) - Quality Combat Sends the Phantom Thieves Out in Style... Hopefully
I love me a bit of Xcom or similar type strat games but this does sound like it's lacking in any sort of depth.
Time for the Phantom Thieves to take retirement on move on to P6, think we have done 5 to death now.
Re: PS Plus Gets Heavy Discounts for Black Friday
I think it's a nah for me.
I am good until next summer when I plan on letting it lapse.
I'll see if extenders get the discount and how much it will cost with vouchers from ShopTo, I might be tempted if it works out cheap enough
Re: Poll: Are You Buying a PS5 'Slim'?
Yes, buying one for the kid for Xmas.
If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be buying one, certainly wouldn't be replacing mine with a slim

Re: The Latest PS5 Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now
If this isn't a stability increasing update then I'm not sure I want it.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for November 2023?
I might play Mafia 2 because I have played 1 and have the third in my library, but I have plenty to play at the moment so I'll likely forget about it.
Not an impressive month at all though.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for November 2023 Announced
I've got plenty to play at the moment so I'm not overly fussed about these, but still... Not the best selection

I've not played either Remastered or MM for a while now but this really does look fantastic, the opening set piece was stunning.
Re: Artistic PS5 Indie INDIKA Is Unlike Anything You've Seen Before
Well that is certainly one to keep an eye on.
Re: Sky-High Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Review Scores Make It One of the Top Rated Games of 2023
Glad to see it getting a good score, Insomniac really are elite level devs.

Re: 8 PS Plus Extra Games for October Leaked Early
Gotta admit, I'm a bit jealous of anyone who hasn't played it getting to play Disco Elysium for the 1st time.
Honestly, what a treat.
Otherwise I have plenty of game at the moment and coming up, of the games from that list I haven't played, nothing I will be jumping on.

I almost hit pre order on this yesterday, glad I don't now.
That's a bit of a downer

Callisto Protocol was on my list to buy but the reviews put me off. When it's been on sale I have had other stuff I have been into but I'll likely get to it some point
Re: Full Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Patch Notes are Here, Massive Update's Out Now on PS5
Really want to start another playthrough and get the DLC but I also want to get through BG3 before Spider-man 2 and my time is limited at the minute.
And then there is Cities 2 as well coming up.
I hat being spoiled for choice 😂
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Has Officially Gone Gold One Month Away from Release
Pre Order is in.
The challenge now is to finish BG3 before release.

Re: EA Sports UFC 5 Is the First M-Rated Release in the Series
Will probably pick this up in a sale at some point, I quite enjoyed 4 but it's not something I would be desperate to get day one.
As @roe said, would quite like another Fight Night game, used to have cracking fun on those.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Baldur's Gate 3?

Nope, I ain't stacking 💩
Once mines is up next summer it's up.
Sony will be raking it in today as everyone who hasn't already will stacking up.

Just got home, BG3 is installed, I've just created a halfling druid with some an awesome face tattoo and I'm about to get started.

Priced around where I thought it would be, can see me picking this up at some point. Will be handy when the wife wants to watch TV
Re: 'Shoulder's of Giants Stuff': Baldur's Gate 3 Writer Pays Tribute to BioWare's Immortal RPGs
@gollumb82 Broken Roads has been on my wish list for a while now as well, looking forward to that getting released, I'll need to look into the demo.
And obviously can't wait for BG3.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 490
I'm still messing about with Anno 1800, will tide me over to BG3 in a couple of weeks.
Re: Promising PS5, PS4 Racer The Crew Motorfest Crosses the Development Finishing Line
This is definitely on my list but dunno if it will be a day one for me, got a few other things I wanna pick up come October and there is BG3 in a couple of weeks.
Might need to be a Christmas game for me.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 PS5 Preload, Release Times Revealed as Console Launch Inches Closer
Caved and ordered the digital deluxe the other day, the hype got me.
Re: The Latest PS5 Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now
I can't wait to get me some of that improved system performance, I'm drooling at the very thought of it.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Red Dead Redemption on PS4?
I've still got my PS3 and I'm sure my copy will be about somewhere.
Seeing as it is a straight port it's a big no from me.
Now a remaster, maybe I would have dropped some cash. A remake with RDR2 visuals etc and I would defo have jumped.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Guide: The Beginner's Resource
@Shepherd_Tallon I'm in the same boat, the more I see the more I'm tempted. I will probably pre order it over the next couple of days
Re: Red Dead Redemption Out on PS4 This Month, Not a Remaster
Total cash grab.
Loved RDR but I won't be buying this. If I ever feel the need I'll just pop it on the PS3.
Had it been a remaster or remake, I would have most likely went for that.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 488
I'm totally hooked on Anno 1800 at the moment so will be putting more time into my Empire.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 487
I picked up Anno 1800 in the sale and have been hooked, so I'll no doubt be sinking a load more time into that
Re: PS Store Summer Sale Live Now, Get All the Best PS5, PS4 Deals Here
I've had a look through and was quite disappointed, then again there was nothing I was itching for, so dunno why I am disappointed.
Might pick up some vouchers from ShopTo and get myself Hogwarts.
Re: 18 More Games Join PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
I've nearly bought various Sniper games over the years and then never bothered, so that's quite handy.
Out with that will probably give It Takes Two a bash
