PS Plus Essential Games for January 2026 Announced 1

Sony has officially announced the PS Plus Essential lineup of monthly games for January 2026.

While one of the games was already leaked earlier today, we now know all of the titles members can look forward to playing next month. They will be available to claim starting 6th January 2026, and will remain in place until 2nd February.

They are:

Need for Speed Unbound is the game we already knew about — an open world arcade racer in the popular series, its stylised visual effects set it apart, but it's a great game either way.

We really liked it in our 8/10 review: "Despite one or two small complaints, Need for Speed Unbound is a great arcade racer, finally getting the series back on track. The versatile handling feels fantastic, and the single-player offers a highly engaging campaign, pitting you against the cops and other racers in equal measure."

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a remake of the fan favourite platformer that implements some modern touches to make it an overall better experience. Awarding it a 7/10 in our review, we said it's "still an enjoyable platformer with impeccable artistic talent driving it. The repetitive combat and exploration remains, but the Rebrushed updates go some way to remedying those shortcomings."

We sadly don't have a review for Core Keeper, but be sure to check the game page via the link above to learn more.
