Oh boy, what a time for my bi-monthly article on delisted PS5 and PS4 games.
For the record, I’m genuinely not trying to stick the boot in here, as I’ve been tracking these all year. I think it’s important for us all to know when digital games will be delisted or disabled, so we can act before it’s too late.
Obviously in the wake of Sony’s announcements regarding physical games, though, this article hits a bit harder. Fortunately, nothing is getting outright pulled from the PS Store this time, so that’s good news.

Anyway, without further ado, here’s what you need to know about August:
- Tearaway (PS4, PS Vita): 13th August (Online Services Ending)
- NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 (PS4): 20th August (Online Services Ending)
- WWE 2K Battlegrounds (PS4): 20th August (Online Services Ending)
- inFAMOUS 2 (PS3): 31st August (Online Services Ending)
- inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood (PS3): 31st August (Online Services Ending)
- Let It Die (PS4): 31st August (Online Services Ending)
- NHL 22 (PS5, PS4): 31st August (Online Services Ending)
- NHL 23 (PS5, PS4): 31st August (Online Services Ending)
As I mentioned, the good news this time is that, at the time of writing, there are no full-scale delistings – just a lot of titles losing their online functionality.
Remember, online services ending can result in Trophies becoming unobtainable, so if you want a Platinum in any of the above games, double-check the requirements quickly.
This applies specifically to inFAMOUS 2 and inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood, which will both remain playable in full, but will lose their user generated content features on 31st August. This means their Platinums will become unobtainable.
In addition, 2K’s two lighthearted sports games, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds, will lose their online services on 20th August.
Meanwhile, Tearaway is losing its Tearaway.me companion website in August, which includes optional creativity features for fans of the game.
And Let It Die’s servers will be closed on 31st August. The nice thing about this one is that the dev will be selling an “offline play” one-time purchase, which will preserve all of the free-to-play game’s content in an offline environment for you to play whenever you like.
One other thing I’ll hastily add here is that the PS3’s store is closing in August 2026 if you’re from Mexico, Honduras, or Nicaragua. Everyone else has got until July 2027 to buy what you want on the PS3 and PS Vita, though.
That’s the full breakdown of everything you need to know for August, then, but I’ll obviously update if anything else comes to light over the coming weeks.
Is there anything you’re particularly going to miss here? Let us know in the comments section below.

“Let it Die” how ironic 😅
Wonderful. Old games and PC with GOG games seems to be the way to go.
Before someone complains I've been running these at the start of the month every two months all year now.
I'm conscious of it adding to the doom gloom, but I think it's information people should know about.
Fortunately, this isn't the worst period on record, mostly server closures.
The adverts are so intrusive on this site that I thought those games were the ones being delisted. I was nearly annoyed about how quickly it was happening 😄
Hey I remember 2K Battlegrounds. Insult of a game, glorified mobile game with a $40 price tag. i think I played one royal rumble of that online and it was just one guy sitting on the turnbuckle and his friend immediately throwing everyone our of the ring. One of the worst gaming purchases I’ve ever made. I’m surprised it lasted so long, I’d have thought it’d be shut down years ago, I can’t imagine anyone has played it for a long time. I’m also surprised there’s no word on 2K25’s servers shutting down yet.
As one of Sony’s most vocal critics on this site as of late, these all look fairly standard to me. I believe all of these games have a story mode or career mode of sorts. I didn’t even know that Tearaway had an online mode.
Something to be cautious of going forwards, but I will save my complaining about this particular concern until a future date.
@BrokenByTheScream I bought New World and I'm all for it being confined to the annals of history. I don't know what I was thinking.
@TheDarts Please send screenshots of any egregious ones via our Contact Form: https://www.pushsquare.com/contact
It shouldn't be impacting your ability to read the site, but we can't do much if we don't know about the issues.
@get2sammyb Youre here to report whats happening in the industry, not run damage control for SONY.
Doing good job, keep it up, not your fault the whole industry is going to sh*t.
@get2sammyb OK. The floating one that pops up out of the blue and moves across the top third of the screen is very irritating.
And the adverts that are implanted into articles, I thought they were screenshot examples of games being delisted for a brief moment.
Being frank Sammy, I find it all egregious regardless when it interferes with the layout of the website and the articles. Some of them are the size of 3 or 4 article banners.
Edit: ummm don't know how to attach screenshots 😬
With random smaller games from 10 years ago where the team cannot afford to maintain dead servers or perhps they don't exist anymore, it's at least understandable to close down servers.
However, it is completely unacceptable that the annual sports games from one of the biggest gaming companies going last just 3 years before being unplayable.
Tearaway needs preservation
Nooo not Tearaway 🥺🥺🥺 loved both games on PS4 and Vita, I'll have to log back in
Was looking at New World: Aeternum the other day and i didn't know this so thank you.
I had the email saying "You have Playstation Stars expiring, don't forget to spend them" email the other day, but I have LITERALLY NOTHING I CAN USE THEM ON BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH! So what was the point in the email?
Discless future looking really bright now huh?
@Pat_trick man, you're really taking the loss of online play in Madden 23 hard, aren't you?
@WhatTheFrog nobody plays any of these games online and anyone who buys a digital game knows what they are getting at this point. Clutch pearls harder.
@PercyChuggs Are you being obtuse on purpose? If it happens with one game, it can happen with another.
Aw, thinking about Tearaway makes me miss my Vita
@WhatTheFrog Can you still play these online if you own them physically? Nope didn't think so. Online games servers being shut down is nothing to do with the physical v digital debate.
Anyone expecting online elements of games to be there forever are naive at best.
@WhatTheFrog The Crew had a disc, what good did that do?
Youre focusing on the wrong thing.
@Pat_trick I am aware, as should anyone who has purchased a game with online functionality within the last 24 years.
@get2sammyb - I’m using an iPad 9th generation (2021) and the ads absolutely do impact the ability to read this site - not all the time, but sometimes crippling it completely. Every now and then I sign out, reject cookies, etc just so it still functions!
I'm 25 points short of getting a £5 voucher on ps stars and that's all I could possibly buy.give me 25 points sony you cheap asses
@PercyChuggs yeah I'm gutted with that one.i don't know how I'll cope😂🤣
*****, it's true then. It's sad, but I've really enjoyed Let It Die over the years. I'm glad I bought the physical Japanese Uncle Prime edition, even if I'll not really be able to play it anymore - it's a cool little memento.
I love my Nintendo Switch 2 so I own it with Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and PS5. Nintendo Switch 2 is my priority gaming console while others is behind but Switch 1 playable on Switch 2 anyway. I getting tired of Sony and Microsoft continue battling each other with a lot of bad things going on now. I stay with Nintendo Switch 2 for long time and watching at Sony and Microsoft up to in their future with physical media banned for their next generation consoles with PS5 says goodbye discs in 2028. For Microsoft keep closing down great studios and cancelling more games. I very disappointing with both this generation and continue future generations. Plus prices up thanks to AI, RAM, Chips and Trump Tariffs etc
Can't wait for GTA 6 on my PS5 again disappointed that no disc for it too. 🎮👍
Well, this is going to be a common site for Sony.
@PercyChuggs Cool beans bro. If you like being taken for a ride by corpos, fun.
I'll support initiatives like Stop Killing Games so we actually have ownership over games and BS like doesn't happen.
We'll never see eye to eye, so you follow your path and I'll follow mine.
Am I wrong in my thinking that even when the game is delisted, it can be downloaded by those who’d purchased previously?
@Pat_trick imagine defending Madden 23 this much.
Owning plastic ***** is overrated. Especially old, obsolete plastic ***** nobody else wants to play with you anymore.
@KendoHead don’t mention you bought physical. The digital media elite will say you own plastic waste because they don’t understand that physical copies are usually cheaper and you can still sell them after
It's crazy there's people defending Sony decision to kill physical games while in the same time Sony / publishers delisted digital games (and movies) from the store like it's nothing.
@PercyChuggs It's not Madden 23, it's online games in general, genius.
I'm now sure you're just obtuse, not deliberate.
@get2sammyb now i may be quite critical of the articles that get posted on the site but articles like this are important it gives people prior knowledge before something is closed or delisted so there's still time to play it or buy it
I can't begin to describe just how done with Playstation I am. It was a good run.
@WhatTheFrog
What?
Discs or not, the same thing would happen. A company can switch off online components or delist a game completely even if it as a disc
Please see high profile examples, the crew , Forza horizon 1 to 4, Forza 1 to 7, Friday 13th, gran turismo sport, marvels avengers .
All of them physical releases. I don't know why people think a disc protects the game
The only protection you have is older games with pre heavy online components
Digital only what a great future were heading for.
@Anthony_Daniels Still you can go play the game offline of the disc.
@AhmadSumadi You said it right but why lose the option to play fantastic games that are not even not online. Why lose the option to play great games because corp doesn't want to keep them up when in a lot of games they don't even need online.
@PurpleG Nintendo isn't that great either with their fake physical copies. And taking away the option to use your console the way you want.
@Bluemoon2008 But it also happens to offline games with shoehorned in on-line stuff that dont benefit the game whatsoever.
@AhmadSumadi Yeah. Marvel Ultimate Allience 1/2 and Marvel's Avengers were delisted years ago yet i can download them just fine.
@PuppetMaster Anyone who owns these games can still download them.
@Anthony_Daniels All the Forza games and Avengers can still be downloaded and played by those who own them. Avengers can still be played online as well.
Tearaway was my first Platinum. Sad times.
@DennisReynolds
Yea they can but they won't be the same as they were on release.
Pop.in a disc of avengers or drive club and see how it reacts ...I can tell you it won't be a smooth experience , or in the case of the crew your plastic disc is gonna do absolutely nothing
As for your other point you can still play your digital purchase if it's been delisted . My ancient copy of persona 4 golden still works on my psvita , and can still be downloaded despite there not even being a vita store
What digital stops you from doing is buying it if you didn't already own it. For example if GTA 7 got delisted and you never bought it then you'll not be able to every get again through normal channels. Where as a disc u could find it on eBay or whatever minus all online functionality should the game even run without a check like the crew or diablo 4
I think people don't quite know how this works really , just red mist without reasoning .
That's the issue will all digital in the current space, if an old game gets delisted and you've never purchased it then your screwed out of getting it again and or if you make it a habit to sell/trade your old games
But this weird take of a disc being some form of protection is nonsense
@Anthony_Daniels Avengers can be played online still and its even better then launch as they made all the skins free.
I just started tearaway yesterday on my psvita and i thought "wow, the website still works". If i just shut my mouth....
@DennisReynolds
The raids don't work properly and the market place has gone, seasonal events and challenges have gone.
so the point is it hasn't at all been preserved disc or no disc , features are missing as is the nature of modem gaming. The disc isn't a bulletproof vest
@Anthony_Daniels The marketplace and battle passes are gone because all the content on them was giving to players for free in the last major update as a goodbye present, would you rather pay for that stuff instead? Raids were always a buggy mess.
This is another great example of why Sony going All digital is a bad idea for the player. We are going to be forced to buy games and pay the same amount as for a physical copy. That at any time they can delist, and then our game is gone.At least with physical, we can always play the classics on our console at home. I would hate to imagine my entire P. S1 and PS2 library gone because it's digital and Sony felt like deleting them.
I hope they realize the mistake. Because from what I've seen, they're going to lose a huge consumer base by going all digital
Comment section is very funny. I wonder if people bother to read the article as least.
Also, this website is getting very clickbait!!
The headlines says 10+ games will be delisted… when you read the actual story, you know that 0 games will be delisted.
:/
Very sad to read this kind of bad written articles.
@Flaming_Kaiser While 🔑 cards suck goomba nuts, Nintendo themselves have released all their first party S2 games as complete, hard copies.
@Mondohelmet When they delist a digital game you own, it's not gone. Stop spreading misinformation.
@EVIL-C That is awsome I love that i gladly pay premium for fully patched and complete games you know the old GOTY Editions.
@FredBiletnikoff It's gone for those who haven't bought it, which is of zero consolation to the would-be buyer. Hence one of the biggest problems/criticisms with relying on digital 100%. Physical media in theory solves this problem, assuming it even had a retail release to begin with.
@EVIL-C That's not what they said though.
@FredBiletnikoff My comment was a general comment on what happenes when games are delisted. Once it's gone, it's gone for new potential buyers.
@BrokenByTheScream What? They announced the 2K25 server shutdown date almost a year ago now. It's been 10 months since they announced it. LOL!
“ Fortunately, nothing is getting outright pulled from the PS Store this time, so that’s good news.”
So why does the title of the article include the word “Delisted”?
not subscribing anymore , better to have something you can keep and play when you want , not forcing people to rush cause the game will be delisted . btw there is last of us 2 factions on pc soon playable mod .
Very clickbait title when nothing is actually being delisted but I guess it's a good time to pull it out when everyone is ready to fume over loss of physical discs. (As if owning a disc would help if they shut down the servers anyway.)
I'd argue that 'Let It Die' ending online functionality and offering a single player purchase mode is an improvement.
Removed - unconstructive
Love that Let it die is getting a offline mode.
Hope this means there's an infamous remaster trilogy on the way
Mm, mhm yes this is the future we should all be striving for. I can’t wait for more games to become permanently unplayable because there’s no disc versions to fall back on—and being blocked from that rightful platinum? mwa chef’s kiss 👌
How is it 8+ games, when there’s 8?
Proof that people don't read the actual articles: trying to drum-up furor about games that aren't even being delisted or fully disabled.
Thanks for doing these monthly lists Sammy, you should compile them all to create a list of all the games we have lost this year. A full list of every delisted game would be nice but that is a daunting task and there are sites already with this information.
@Balaam_ "rightful platinum?" Get over yourself dude, it's impossible to take you seriously. You realize there are people in this world literally fighting, and dying, for human rights? And you're talking about your "rights" to platinum trophies?
@Balaam_ i love trophies and all , but if you haven't gotten a plat trophy for a game that is almost 20 years old 20 years later , you were never serious about it in the first place.
Festival of blood didn't have a platinum so & no online content same with infamous 2 & it had a platinum which I got
Remember, online services ending can result in Trophies becoming unobtainable, so if you want a Platinum in any of the above games, double-check the requirements quickly.
Expiring servers, including some prior to one's own purchase of the game, played a big part in ending my honeymoon with and the bulk of my care for PlayStation trophies in general.😏
And there's no need to excuse the "timing" of a regular article that is among the most useful stuff to come from this site. Delisting highlights matter big time for digital buyers like myself, and all the bigger when the announcements themselves seem to be getting oddly scarce in the age when you'd be excused for assuming every school break lemonade stand to have its own SMM (and yet things like Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games can go poof with nary a warning).
@get2sammyb I think doom and gloom is the last accusation anyone is having right now. We could use more form you guys I think lol.
@8th_Observer
They absolutely are not reading the article and it definitely shows. Something tells me they peruse the whole site like this, clicking articles that make them mad and jumping all the way down to the comments to leave uninformed opinions.
@springer17 i got that aswell but you really can't do anything with it so i just deleted the email 🤷🏿♀️
Discs or not, the same thing would happen. A company can switch off online components or delist a game completely even if it as a disc
Please see high profile examples, the crew , Forza horizon 1 to 4, Forza 1 to 7, Friday 13th, gran turismo sport, marvels avengers
Just putting this here, so everyone knows the part of the comment I AM referring to.
Yes, Forza (motorsport) 5&6 are delisted, you cannot download them from the digital market. However! I have learned, that if you buy the GoTY edition for either of them(the disc).. you still can download the updates.
As for Marvel avengers.. I mean it's offline but same as Forza (Idk I only really play it when stoned)
Soo.. no, I don't know if getting rid of physical copies is a good idea
@Pat_trick Oh no! Can't play a 3 year old Hockey game online against awful American kids!
Better lay out £1500 for a PC
@TheDarts run by Ziff Davis, a huge predatory sell all your info waste of data company that adds to most issues rather than solve it. Make sure all your web protection is up to date. Garbage company but they seem to get the news fast.
@dodgykebaab This was a month ago, Internet Explorer.
So how long before games are delisted for the sole purpose of selling the next game in line? Hmm? Oh, Gran Turismo 8? You don't want it because 7 is good enough you say? Well... uh... we're delisting that and ending the online support for reasons. You're welcome to buy the $120 base game of 8 though if you want...
We know what you're doing Sony.
FIFA/EAFC already does it. You think they can't keep older games running online? They do it because their new game is so low-effort that you wouldn't buy it if you could just keep playing the old one. It's disgusting.
@Balaam_ When I first saw the name of this game, I knew I would one day be able to make this joke... Seems I was a bit slow to the punch, though haha
I "own" the Infamous games in digital only. Got them a long time ago. I'd add to the irony but now it's just a pathetic issue of trust. Not going to buy any more games with online features. It's no longer a selling point as it can just as easily be taken away.
@Pat_trick Sorry I don't live online like you. Sorry I only use the internet when I have nothing to do.
@dodgykebaab And uses to make pointless useless comments that have already been made and replied to. Goodbye, see you never again.
