Re: Poll: Is Ghost of Yotei Better Than Ghost of Tsushima?

@yazzika Will say the maps are big enough in that their packed with content and do give you a lot of space to move in. They're also fairly varied and each have their own theme and identity and are extremely pretty its just for me its a bit of a downgrade over the first game as i love seamless maps in my open world games. Overall its a minor thing though as the rest of the game is excellent.

@yazzika Its separated into zones bit like how FF7 Rebirth does things. Its not a big seamless map with no loading screens its a bunch of mid to somewhat big sized maps separated by loading screens. Its not a deal breaker but it does lack that sense of freedom you usually get in open worlds games.

@AdamNovice Yeah the maps are big so you do get a lot of space but i just hated seeing the views and knowing its a skybox, i hated seeing the Mountain and knowing its a static image and that i can't seamlessly go to it and climb it. I get why its like this but i wish SP done The Witcher 3 approach and made two huge maps with some smaller ones that exist more for story then exploring.

Tsushima has the better open world because its an actual open world unlike Yotei. I also feel stealth was better in Tsushima as well. Other then those two things Yotei is the better game with far better combat, better side content and a better story with Atsu actually being a great character unlike Jin who is just boring, bland and pretty dull saved by his voice actor who does a great job. That said i went with the middle option for what i like best as i much prefer Tsushima's actual open world while preffering Yotei's gameplay and story. Both fantastic games though and Yotei easily makes my top 5 of 2025 while Tsushima easily made my top 5 of whatever year they came out (2019???).

@tameshiyaku Her last game was U3 well over a decade ago and everything she's done since has failed, been cancelled or been poorly received. It gets to the point that you start to think maybe she's the issue. U3 was also a mess from narrative standpoint and pretty bloated and from what we know her version of U4 sounded pretty generic and well bad what with the whole tired long lost evil brother returns trope being the main beat of it.

I get the impression more and more that Amy Hennig "leaving" ND was more on her then them. She's done nothing since ND except lead disasters and vaporware. She's very much part of the old guard who gets by on status alone and still thinks its the 2000's, we're seeing a lot of these key figures from 20 years back put out
crap lately.

@SrpskaArtilerija The top 5 games of this year are neither soulslike, remasters or remakes. The best game of the entire generation is neither them as well. As i said i suggest you play more and broaden your horizons. This gen while flawed is easily more diverse in what it offers then last gen.

@KundaliniRising333 I won't bother listing every game but i will name a few notable entries. Ghost of Yotei on Pro RT looks incredible and PSSR gives it a near 4K level image. KC2 looks incredible as well and it uses PSSR. Control's recent Pro update added PSSR and its the best upscaler for Control on console. MH Wilds is best played on the Pro and it uses PSSR. No Man's Sky looks fantastic on Pro and again it uses PSSR. Finally AC Shadows with PSSR on makes it the best looking version on console.
