Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Permanently Cheaper on PS5 from Next Week

Good news! Stupid system in Plus doesn't let me buy Remake itself since I already "bought" it via Plus. It's ridiculous they didn't do anything to fix that. Same thing happens with R&C: Rift Apart too and even though I bought it only Plus version shows up in the library and I can't play it without a subscription. At least now I can buy Twin Pack on a sale and actually "own" the Remake too.

These are good news. Usually we see almost permanent discounts, where the regular price is more of an exception. I‘d like to see these permanent new prices more often.

This is actually great for people who held.out like me. I'm waiting for part 3 to be finished before I commit to the trilogy

I still think alot of people are waiting for part 3 to come out then they will just buy the bundle. Still a very nice gesture can't argue with it.

Permanent price decrease is awesome! They should do that with Pixel Remaster

I had part 1 but didn't think it fantastic, in the most part (I am told as I never played the original) as a result of the story changes of the remake.

Then part 2 came out with all the visual issues in performance mode, so I held off.

By the time the Pro came out and part 2 was fixed for Pro, and exacerbated by rumours / SE later saying that part 3 is going to be multiplatform (indicating less focus on PS hardware when part 2 had issues), I had just lost interest, and decided to wait to see how part 3 pans out. Then I can, as you point out, just buy a double pack.

@Scottyy I know exactly what you mean with reference to PSN not giving you an option to buy the game because you already ‘bought’ it through PS+. That’s so irritating. There may be a workaround, but I’m not entirely sure, and it would involve jumping through several hoops.

Unfortunately, I have news for you: you won’t “own” the game if you buy the twin pack either. No one ‘owns’ digital games, you’re buying a license to access the game which can be revoked at any time, for any reason, and there’s nothing you can do about it. The only way to actually truly own the game would be to hunt down a physical copy.

@Rich33 Rebirth was my GOTY that year, I truly think it's one of the best RPGs ever made and that's coming from someone who has FF7 og as their top game of all time. I have faith in SE to deliver with part 3 as much as I faith in Capcom with RE9, and remember Capcom are also hit and miss with performance (Dragon's Dogma), the Pro version of Rebirth is simply stunning imo.

Got the twinpack for 70€ when Rebirth launched. Great games.

@Balaam_ work around is via ps5 itself. Where you can click to play game, there are three dots. Click on that click view product and you can then purchase it even if you have it on ps plus. That is literally the only way.
The bigger problem is what the first guy said. If you had really purchased it, but then went through ps plus extra and clicked on it their. It's changes your purchase to rental status with plus meaning if it's removed you lose your purchase licence to the game.

Might buy it again then digitally, assuming this price decrease is global

I think I have a lot more faith in Capcom when it comes to RE games (Pro versions of course) - the clincher was when they confirmed the average 90fps mode for RE9, based on how effective they had been on previous games given this Pro mode. In terms of gameplay / story etc, I have taken issue with parts of their recent games but generally I think the standard is high to really high.

Capcom with other games - not so much, based on DD and MHW, though it was nice to hear that DF had had a look at a number of Capcom games in progress, and were very pleased with their progress technically on all but Onimusha - which Capcom were trying to fix. I really hope they get Onimusha right - I really liked all the originals.

I used to really like SE games in general, but I just haven't been a big fan recently. In fact, I can't even say what the last game of theirs I bought was. Probably 7 part 1.

I was not a big fan of 7 part 1 - to explain further, soon after I played it I spoke to a couple of friends about all the parts I disliked in the story, and was told I had listed most of the changes from the original. I went in with no preconceptions.
I played the demo for 16, really enjoyed the content, but the framerate was far below what I can tolerate.

I'm not going to say the Pro version of 7 Part 2 doesn't look good on Pro, I think it does; but it was never top of my list because of how I found 1, and the technical issues with 2 when it came out (before Pro launched) meant I was never going to buy it until the Pro launched.
Since then I have just felt a bit cool towards it, and unlike yourself, I just don't have that faith in SE anymore at all.
Hence why I'm waiting. If part 3 is amazing, then I will buy 2 and 3 together and play them consecutively.

I will add, I am not the biggest fan of stories told over multiple parts, though obviously this is a bit of a grey area.

Cheapened the price to go with cheapening the trophies! 😘😜
