Re: Crimson Desert Sells 5 Million Copies in Less Than a Month

@Sulleymonster Most open world games don't have a climb anything feature, i guess by your logic Red Dead 2 is not an open world because you can't anything.

Also let's not glaze CD here the vast majority of its side content is fetch quests and clearing bandit camps. Every now and then you get something more evolving but the majority is MMO style side content. Zelda is creative CD is not. What CD has is scale and near endless content but it doesn't push open world games forward it just takes bits from all the others and does it half as well. Jack of all trades master of none, it works very well for CD but its doing nothing to call its own beyond having all these systems in one game.

@Yomv7t Refight bosses, retake strongholds and stuff have existed on plenty of open world games. Hell Ghost of Yotei has all that and retaking camps/strongholds is a bog standard feature in AC and Far Cry. Most of the stuff PA has been adding is just standard base game stuff in other open world games.

Re: Rumour: A God of War PS5 Prequel Not Starring Kratos Will Take Us to Multiple Mythologies

DennisReynolds

@LifeGirl Its pretty clear the Gods only effect the realm/myth they're in. Ares was only the "God Of War" for the Greek part of the world for instance.

The whole each Myth existing on the same planet is hardly a new thing in fiction. DC, Marvel and American Gods all do that. Even Supernatural done it where God as in the biblical God exists in the same universe as the likes of Odin, had a pretty fun episode where they all hilariously thought they had a chance against Lucifer himself.

Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?

DennisReynolds

@TheArt Don't get me wrong i love the game and i can easily see it being my GOTY but yeah i'm not blind to its many many faults. I love how fast the devs work and i love they are listening to feedback and acting on it but at the same time its hard to glaze them for giving us features that really should have been there from the start. Like people love to s**t on Bethesda and yes they deserve it most of the time but most of the stuff CD has added in updates that people are praising the devs for was in Skyrim on day 1 on PS3 🤷‍♂️

Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?

@themightyant There's no tearing with V-Sync on provided you don't have it on with VRR as well. I've had zero tearing and trust i would notice it as i hate it to the point it hurts my eyes. Performance is caused by CPU issues there's nothing the devs can do about that, you can't do a battle as large and dynamic as the Chapter 6 battle and expect 60fps on CPU's this weak. GTA VI will no doubt have the same issues.

Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?

Its worth noting a lot of the updates have just been fixings and adding QoL features that should have been there from the start. Its great they're acting so fast but this narrative of them putting western devs to shame falls apart when you remember most of the post release support is stuff already in day 1 releases of most "western" games. Like "hide helmet" is a bog standard feature that somehow took weeks to be added.

Its a great game i love it easily a GOTY contender for me and its great the devs listen to feedback and act on it fast but let's not glaze them for simply "finishing" the game post release even if a lot of it is based around player feedback.

Re: Naughty Dog Embraced Crunch Culture After The Last of Us, as It's 'What It Takes to Make Games at Our Level'

DennisReynolds

@GeminiX53 Oh it is like today but in winter when its freezing cold not so much. I do it because animals are my no 1 passion and i've earned my place there but yeah some days i do think a more cosy job at a desk wouldn't be so bad. Also giving my role there i don't have the luxury of calling in sick unless its really bad. Pro's outweigh the con's but its hard work on a good day.

Re: Starfield's 'Unplayable' PS5 Crashing Issues Prompt Sony to Refund Players

DennisReynolds

@lazarus11 and yet its not the worst version as the Xbox version is the same. In fact technically the SS version is the worst version as it has the crashing plus worse performance issues and downgraded visuals. What that person said is objectively false.

Also funny you call me "angry" giving your attitude about a certain review from PQ. Pot kettle black mate.

Re: Naughty Dog Embraced Crunch Culture After The Last of Us, as It's 'What It Takes to Make Games at Our Level'

DennisReynolds

The people who moan about crunch should try my job. I work at and help run a farm and it doesn't matter if the weather is bad or its freezing cold i still have to be out in it shoveling s**t and feeding and looking after a lot of animals.

Sorry for the rant its just very annoying seeing cry about something what is common in most jobs. Yeah it sucks you have to work more then you're contracted to do welcome to world of having a job.
