Re: Here Is Crimson Desert Gameplay on Base PS5

DennisReynolds

@IOI Yeah from what i've seen the story is just a basic revenge story what seems exist to serve the gameplay and world what are the bigger selling points.

People just want to hate the game. If reviews dropped today giving it 9's and 10's with a 90+ MC score they would be saying reviews were bought off.

Re: 'An Even Smoother Experience': Developers Chime in on PS5 Pro's PSSR 2 Update

DennisReynolds

@Scottyy You understand giving the choice between aiming for visuals or performance R* will always pick visuals. Lowering the res isn't going to help a game like GTA VI where its going to be insanely CPU bound. I mean come on look at Dragons Dogma 2, visually its no where near GTA VI and CPU wise its doing far less then what GTA VI will be doing and it still can't really hit or stay at 60fps on the Pro. R* won't tone the visuals for 60fps i can tell you that.

Re: 'An Even Smoother Experience': Developers Chime in on PS5 Pro's PSSR 2 Update

@Areyouthatdumb The base PS5 can't run PSSR as its not powerful enough. PSSR is seeing a massive focus right now because at the end of the day its going to be a massive part of the PS6 with PSSR 3.0. There's not much can do with the base PS5 in terms of upscalers as that's on the Devs not Sony. Anyway Marathon, Ghost of Yotei, Monster Hunter Stories 3 and RE Requiem all look great on base PS5 and are recent games. Sony are just putting focus on the Pro because its the future of Playstation with PSSR becoming the main PS upscaler once the PS6 drops.

Re: ARC Raiders Replacing Some of Its Controversial AI Voices with 'Better' Human Ones

DennisReynolds

@Kraven If you play solo you get matched with other solo players so its perfectly viable and its how i play. Generally the playerbase is pretty chill but you must always watch your back and trust no one, not to say you can't team up or help other players (i had a good battle where i helped out this lone player defeat a tough arc and we happily shared the spoils of our victory and then parted ways all without a single word between us) but just remember they might not be as friendly as you. There is a dialogue wheel that allows basic sentences if you don't want to mic talk and it does a good job, the "hey don't shoot" option is a good way to let others know you appear friendly.

Re: ARC Raiders Replacing Some of Its Controversial AI Voices with 'Better' Human Ones

@Gunnerzaurus The AI voices used in AR are based on actual real voices who have been paid and have agreed to have their voices used this way. Not saying its right or wrong but calling them stolen, unpaid and used without consent is objectively untrue. Also some actors have sold off their voices as well, for instance James Earl Jones before his death sold his voice to Disney to be used for anything Darth Vader.

Re: Starfield's PS5 Release Seems Practically Inevitable at This Point

DennisReynolds

@danzoEX Depends on what you mean by issues. The game bugs wise is actually pretty ok and while 60fps is difficult to reach it does hold well at 30fps. The issues are more lackluster exploration, dull characters, pointless Space and too many loading screens and well that can't be fixed outside of remaking it. That said i really liked the game for what it was and will double dip for the PS5 version.

Re: Opinion: Crimson Desert Could Be PS5 Game of the Year, or a Total Mess

DennisReynolds

@glennthefrog How many AAA games have had a Cyberpunk level launch? At worst this will more on a level of Elden Ring but i don't think it will be, it won't be a flawless 60fps but it won't be a technical disaster either and there's nothing to suggest it will be either.

Maybe its different in Korea but i know Japan and China don't care as much as us hence why so many Devs over there don't put as much as focus on performance as western devs, From Software being the perfect example.

Re: Opinion: Crimson Desert Could Be PS5 Game of the Year, or a Total Mess

DennisReynolds

@glennthefrog DF have already confirmed the Pro version at least is in a really good state and that the version they tested isn't even the final build.

Wanna know why the Devs haven't shown the console versions off that much? Different gaming culture over there. Asian players just don't care nearly as much about this stuff as western players do.
