Re: Silent Hill F Is Another Game That Stumbles on PS5 Pro

DennisReynolds

@Papasears1982 Not all games can afford RT at 60fps. Its expensive and demanding as hell. AC Shadows a game with far better more game changing RT then Yotei can't have the full RT experience on Performance on the Pro, RTGI can be run on Performance but reflections are limited to Quality and Balanced. The Pro can only do so much hence why GTA VI will be 30fps on the Pro.

End of the day the PS5 Pro is not a PS6 its just a more powerful PS5 with a slightly faster but same CPU.

@springer17 DEI is a work hiring practice and has nothing to do with what they include in films, TV and games. The idea of it is hiring more diverse people who might be better suited for the job rather then just sticking with the white straight male simply because he's a white straight male despite the latino trans woman beside him being way more qualified for the job.

Ubi aren't perfect but generally speaking when it comes to AC at least they have always stuck with a lead suited for that location and time in history. AC has always been pretty diverse in its games even if Ubi are scared of having a woman being the sole lead of a mainline entry. Giving todays climate i expect Ubi would catch flack from certain people on a number of its leads especially Connor from AC3.

Re: Rumour: American Civil War Assassin's Creed Game Cancelled Due to Fear of Controversy

@springer17 Where have they have "shoehurned" it in prior? Wanna know something funny its been highly speculated Yasuke was made a playable character late into development because Ubi were scared Naoe would upset a certain side of playerbase who get upset of the idea of playing as a girl. The reason its Yasuke we play as is because he was already part of the story and it was easier making him a co-lead rather then just creating a brand new character. Just speculation of course but Ubi have form of doing this as they did it with Odyssey and there's a lot of evidence in game this was meant to be only Naoe's game. So yeah they were maybe trying to be meet a quote but not ones you think.

Re: Rumour: American Civil War Assassin's Creed Game Cancelled Due to Fear of Controversy

@Deljo Yes they are. TheBirdman has many of times exposed the fake Drinker and his crew for the racist pos they are with hard evidence. I won't list why Asmongold is because PQ will remove the comment. Like seriously though check out their coverage on AC Shadows it was basically crying over Yasuke existing and its why i know AC Civil War with a black lead would go down like a lead balloon with them.

Re: 'As Long as You're Having Fun, We Don't Care': Ghost of Yotei Dev Comments on Open World Freedom

DennisReynolds

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare Yeah to be clear when i compare Ghost and AC i'm not doing it to throw shade as i love AC and while Shadows is far from my favourite entry i did still really enjoy it and put around 100 hours into it post expansion. I actually think Ghost improves on the formula quite a bit as i said in my other post but like Horizon and even Spider-Man it does follow the Ubi open world blueprint.

Also despite me moaning about the open world in Yotei i am really enjoying the game and i can easily see it being in my top 5 of the year. Just because i have big criticisms doesn't mean i'm not also loving it. This isn't aimed at you its aimed those who think i'm hating because i'm not throwing blind praise at it.

@DarianStarfrog If you can't really argue my points then why reply? The game is open zoned, the regions aren't seamlessly connected and SP themselves have even confirmed that. As for AC Shadows yeah its funny because the Ghost games follow the exact blueprint with the only difference being Ghost hides the icons on the map. Face it you like AC but your hatred for Ubi won't allow you to admit it, if you love Yotei then chances are you would at least find Shadows pretty decent because both games have a ton in common.

Re: 'As Long as You're Having Fun, We Don't Care': Ghost of Yotei Dev Comments on Open World Freedom

DennisReynolds

@Oram77 Its still an AC map its just they hide the icons. Granted the sense of discovery is much better in Yotei and its super easy to get distracted by something in the distance but you are pretty much just doing a checklist of the same things in every area. This is my issue with Sucker Punch they can't just own the fact their open world is just the same as any other Ubi style open world, just because you hide the icons on the map doesn't suddenly mean you're Red Dead 2, Skyrim and Tears of the Kingdom. They do nail the formula more so then Ubi themselves but its still a Ubi style game and follows the same gameplay loop. Funny enough a lot of the side content in Yotei isn't that much different to the side content in AC Shadows.

Re: Poll: What Are Your First Impressions of Ghost of Yotei on PS5?

DennisReynolds

As i said in the other article my only issue is the open world design where its less an open world and more a bunch of mid sized open zones broking up by loading screens. Because of this it feels small and exploring feels limited. Everything else is great though especially combat and i love Atsu, Erika does a great job.

Re: 'Really, Really Good': Ghost of Yotei Beats EA Sports FC 26, Super Mario Galaxy in UK Physical Sales

DennisReynolds

@StarZinger I'm only on the 2nd region but its separated by a loading screen and can't be seamlessly travelled to from the opening region. From what i've read all the regions are designed like this and can't be seamlessly travelled without loading. As i said they're decently sized and there's a lot of content in them but its not really an open world. This is isn't a game where if you see it you can go to it and it feels limiting for me because of that.

To be clear i am loving the game and it does make a lot of improvements over the first game, its just the open world design i'm not fond off and feel is a step back.

Re: 'Really, Really Good': Ghost of Yotei Beats EA Sports FC 26, Super Mario Galaxy in UK Physical Sales

DennisReynolds

@StarZinger My issue is the design. Its a less an open world and more a bunch of mid sized open zone areas. Because of this the game and map feel small and you can't explore and get lost in it because of this pretty poor design choice. Like take the mountain itself its just a pretty skybox and nothing more, the mountain you climb is not the one you see looming over the world and it feels small because of that.
