Highguard PS5 1

Highguard developer Wildlight Entertainment has confirmed its failed live service shooter shall be shut down and taken offline permanently next week on 12th March 2026.

After attracting a large player base on release day in January, users quickly fell off and a number of updates and bonus modes failed to bring many players back. As such, the game will no longer be playable past 12th March.

In a social media statement, the development team said: "Despite the passion and hard work of our team, we have not been able to build a sustainable player base to support the game long term. Servers will remain online until March 12th. We hope you’ll jump in with us one more time to show your support and get those final great matches in while we still can."

There'll be one final update for Highguard — launching either today or tomorrow — that adds another playable character, skill trees, a new weapon, and account level progression. Presumably, these are all content additions the developer was planning for the future, but is making them available now so they can still be experienced.

It then concludes: "From all of us at Wildlight, thank you for playing, for supporting us, and for being part of Highguard’s story."

Highguard released on 26th January 2026, meaning that by the time it's taken offline, it'll have been available for exactly 46 days. At least it managed to last longer than Concord?
