Publisher Paradox Interactive has just reported a heavy year-on-year decline in operating profit following the release of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 back in October.
"The core business delivered strong performance with high revenues and solid cash flow," assures CEO Fred Wester, as per GamesIndustry.
He continues: "However, the results for the period were impacted by currency headwinds and the write-down of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, as the game did not meet our commercial expectations."

The writing was obviously on the wall with this one. The long-awaited sequel was quite heavily criticised by both critics and players, and Paradox itself had revealed that it was writing down $37 million in development costs in November of last year.
The bottom line here is that the game's completely bombed — but it isn't being abandoned. Despite the title's obvious commercial failings, the support that was promised ahead of its launch will go ahead.
So, for starters, Bloodlines 2 is getting a big update on the 11th February, which will include "new cosmetics, enemy loot, and bug fixes", according to a freshly posted roadmap.
Then, two paid DLCs are dropping — one in the first half of the year, and one in the second. Both DLCs see you play as secondary characters from the main campaign, shedding some light on their motives.

To be brutally honest, we can't see Bloodlines 2 making some kind of comeback thanks to this stuff, but at least Paradox is following through with the content that was previously announced.
