Re: Random: Ariana Grande's Been Playing Sackboy: A Big Adventure at 2AM

solocapers

@NemesisSam30 lets be honest here.. im no Ariana fan in terms of her genre of music - but talentless? Wow. You know Sir Paul has worked with her right? I think he knows talent a bit better than some opinionated doofus on the internet.

There's always stupid comments on here and id agree if the article was about some streamer who cant be bothered to get a real job or some shill "influencer" who but that takes this weeks top effort.

Well done for the late entry.

Re: Feature: Could PlayStation Do More to Promote Green Packaging?

solocapers

Paper cases are absolute toilet.

Remember the Saturn game cases? Let's not go there again.

Some kind of biodegradable plastic would be better but let's be honest physical games probably only have this generation left before they're scrapped and were forced to pay 70 quid + for every new game since there's no competition.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Dated for 11th June

solocapers

@nessisonett Jeez.. lets be honest, scalpers are an annoyance but they're a minority of the sales going through. Demand is outstripping supply.

Its as simple as that.

I've managed to get 3 since launch and of the 20 or so psn friends I have which have a PS5, none have bought from a scalper. Not to absolve scalpers but its becoming a meme with the folk going on about them constantly.

@nessisonett Of all the people you know who has a PS5, how many do you know have got one from a scalper?

@get2sammyb - maybe that's an idea for a poll for the people constantly blaming scalpers for them not having one?

Where did people get their PS5 from? - scalpers or normal shops.

Re: PS5 Finally Launches in China Later This Year

solocapers

@Netret0120 mainly because companies can't launch products without strict guidelines over content and vice like grip over access to user data.

Take Pooh Bear as an example. Banned, because their fat, sensitive baby of a leader doesn't like the comparison that's made between him and a children's cartoon by dissenters of his regime.

The country is a absolute cesspit of corruption and human rights abuses.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Backlash as Fans Accuse Ubisoft of Focusing on Microtransactions Over Bug Fixes

solocapers

@Slippship Yea, most devs have a formula and there's nothing wrong if its done well - Naughty Dog and Rockstar as you say being prime examples.

I just personally find Ubisoft games soulless - not all mind, more the open world ones. Maybe the story and writing dont resonate but it feels like if you've played one, you've played them all. Plus I despise the amount of paid DLC they bring out also.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Backlash as Fans Accuse Ubisoft of Focusing on Microtransactions Over Bug Fixes

solocapers

@Slippship I avoid ubi games to be honest. Not cause of microtransactions just cause they're IKEA style identikit games typically.

I was merely voicing that I'm shocked and surprised Unisoft are whoring microtransactions over fixing the game.

To clarify EA are just as bad and I avoid them too.

The gamers moaning should do as I do and vote with their wallet. Like moths to a flame though most it seems.

Re: Talking Point: Is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Still a PS5 Launch Window Game?

solocapers

Launch window imo should be 3 months - 6 months just to tick boxes I guess from a corporate perspective but by that point for me, a shiny launch console is by 3 months typically has lost its "new" veneer.

Given how much demand and lack of apparent supply there is I guess we can stretch that out to 6-9 months based on the issues with covid and production issues.

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

solocapers

@wiiware Yea, hopefully we do.

Spiderman is a good case point on how to give the user options. I cant really tell the difference between the performance RT mode and the locked 30 RT mode and so as far as im concerned 30 can get in the bin.

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

solocapers

@Jaxx420 I'd agree that Sony and MS should have a system in place to prioritise customers however expect that to come at a price premium for the manufacturers to setup storefronts etc (users with active PS Plus get priority?)

Ultimately though the reason there's scalpers is because there's idiots willing to pay the premium to get it at inflated prices.

There's nothing Sony etc can do if I can buy one normal price, sell it to CEX for 800 quid then some idiot comes in buys it for close to 1k.

@grimwood - for the faster loading times, higher framerate for a start. Thats why lots of people have bought it now.

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

solocapers

@wiiware Yea I think the lines are being blurred more and more with generations now.

The pure resolution bump isnt as obvious as before thanks to checkerboarding being pretty good in the first place last gen.

The main system sellers for me so far has been the quick load times, improved framerates - I half expect them to drop back to 30 when graphics are being pushed to be honest and the adaptive triggers.

The sheer speed of the SSD is like going back to cartridge based games again.

Astro's playroom is an easy platinum, brilliant game though.

Hopefully we get a full version some point in the future.

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

solocapers

@thefourfoldroot Was on BBC News also, but was more talking about how Volkswagen aren't able to produce enough cars due to chip shortages, it noted new console launches and phone launches being part of the problem.

On the PS5 front I've been very lucky it seems and have managed to get 3 confirmed (2 delivered) within the first month or so of launch.

1st one was for me, pre ordered on announcement date with Game and accidentally managed to cancel my pre order in an attempt to change address using my phone and accidentally tapping cancel without any prompt of "are you sure?". Game were most unhelpful, thats the last time I use Game.

2nd again for me, ordered on the first wave of restock with Very.co.uk.

3rd for a friend via the BT shop and arrived mid Dec.

While stressful, I seem to have been one of the lucky ones thats had to scour a bit but got there in the end without too much fuss. So much so I had another in my basket from Amazon but decided against selling it to CEX.

Re: Don Jerseys from the World's Best Football Teams in Fortnite

solocapers

Really had to laugh at this "Premier League greats such as Manchester City"

Should read instead: Financially doped, empty stadium club ran by a bunch of human rights abusers, Manchester City.

That list of teams is pathetic other than the Italian teams. Absolute dross with the sectarian lot added in for the banter.

Could have atleast left adding Rangers in till Halloween so they can have a zombie costume.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II

solocapers

@NoxAeturnus you summed the story and it's flaws up very well there.

Exactly with my point in that while games are going for the movie style story they should leave the opaque characters to movies and TV as playing as one of them is a slog and it's incredibly hard to invest in a main protagonist who you really don't care lives or dies.

I guess that's kinda what ND was going for but it leaves the experience as unfulfilling as it can get.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II

solocapers

@dark_knightmare2 wow.. that's an emotional response pal. You got shares in ND or something?

I can confirm I have completed the game thank you very much.

There's plenty of respected reviewers who feel that ND weaker elements is in gun play.. no one is perfect. The world that they create, the writing for the most part and attention to detail is outstanding.. but plenty of respected reviewers have always said gunplay isn't a strong point.

For what it's worth it's still in my top 3 this year. I just feel that it's not as perfect as some think, ergo my comparison to rdr2 and by the same token the hate that it received from some was ridiculous and nothing but hate because a female lead didn't look "womanly enough".

Can't things be shades of grey anymore?

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II

solocapers

For me it was kinda Rockstar and RDR2 all over again. Over indulgent.

It's one that should be played as a technical masterpiece for the time but one that's ultimately flawed with the story being no where near as engaging as the first and the gunplay loop having barely been improved on from the first which is never a strong point with ND let's be honest.

The first game was gripping and it was easy to be invested in the main characters while the 2nd had lovely moments sprinkled through it no doubt the main cast this time (including Ellie) had little redeemable features.

Leave opaque characters to Cinema.

Re: Reports of Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds for PS5, PS4 Being Denied

solocapers

@nessisonett "hacked" suggests their account security was compromised.

Socially engineered or most likely a password used over and over again is more apt.

Sorry if that sounds rude but I hate how the word hacked is bandied about when people have poor password implementations and essentially give the keys away to the door.

Re: Reports of Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds for PS5, PS4 Being Denied

solocapers

As much as I sympathise with the fella trying to get a refund I don't believe for a second it doesn't boot up at all now on both PS4 and ps5..

It's buggy, it crashes every couple of hours but it's not completely broken to the point it doesn't work..

I still believe Sony need to have some kind of refund policy on games played less than say an hour or 2 for games released in a poor state like this.

It will also hopefully kill off those nonsense trophy hunting games that take minutes to platinum.
