Oh no! The ***** overrated hack&slasher? The one that made all that fuss using mental health buzzwords to cover for the fact that it was a glorified vertical slice? That the one?
Yeah, MS can keep that one all to themselves.
EDIT: All these articles are so very click-baity. Of course the MIicrosoft-owned studio won't release an upgrade on another platform that isn't theirs. It's like the people that acted all surprised when Bethesda confirmed that Starfield was going to be an xbox exclusive. Well, ***** duh, Sherlock! (rant over)
Leave him be. He shoul be free to publish his pretentious ***** games on the platform that he prefers (or pays him more for it). Good riddance I say. This guy is so full of *****...
I'd prefer to not have the PS Store flooded with cheap indie games. The process they describe appears to be quite complicated but to put the blame on that for the game not succeeding is stretching it tbh. Want success? Then make interesting games and don't think you are entitled to succeed just because you are a "lil' brave" indy.
@DeepSpace5D I was going to say the same. Want to succeed on this platform: make more interesting games. I can't say I ever heard of any of their games besides Vigil, I think.
Isn't he making an Xbox exclusive next suppossedly? I read there is a letter of intent and everything. Hope that he doesn't scam our Xbros with another glorified walking simulator like he did Sony (which, to be fair, was really only an excuse to mingle with Hollywood types out of pure own-fart-smelling narcissism).
This feels like a late summer release at best. I don't think Koei wants it to drown between all the heavy-hitter releases coming out during the last quarter of the year.
@batwing47 In this case I think people can distinguish between CDPR devs and CDPR management but both make up CDPR as a whole so the whole studio's reputation is it because of CDPR mismanagement of the game's development as a whole. I think is fair to say that there are more than a bunch of devs at CDPR rethinking their career path, and CDPR still looks good on the ol' resume so I don't think they would have a problem finding work someplace else.
Excellent. These games do not need an easy mode. You want to experience the entire game? ENDURE or spend your money on a Lego game if you are not looking to be challenged.
Still haven't seen anything that would convince me to get an xbox, gamepass or otherwise. Maybe when I see Redfall gameplay but in the meantime I will continue gaming on PS5, still waiting for that elusive Bloodborne 60fps patch.
Well, that was fast. Square Enix locked its Twitter account just now according to DualShockers. Probably having to do with the horrible showing of Final Fantasy Origin.
"I want to kill Chaos. I need to. It's not a hope or a dream. It's like a hunger. A thirst."
That dialogue. The horror. The horror. The horror.
@Col_McCafferty Taking it all I still don't see enough to warrant purchasing a new Xbox. I'm not knocking MS at all, fanboysim and console wars are too tiring - been there, done that back in the PS2 days (and I still rented an XBOX from time to time to play MP Halo).
For me: Yes, GamePass has undeniable value in what it offers, but I don't plan on playing half of those games, and since I have very little gaming time as it is, I'd rather spend it in games I want to play not just what is available, which may or may not be of my liking. If I was 15-years old GamePass would be nirvana for me I'm sure but I just don't have to time anymore to fully enjoy it. That said, playing Prey, above 60 FPS, is a mighty attractive proposition.
Good. Now Sony has to work on their own Space exploration RPG.
That "25 years in the making" sound like PR bull***** though, but I bet Todd Howard said the same of Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
Although they do make the case for GamePass as a great value you can only really see by Holiday 2022, maybe further. I do agree that Sony will have to come up with something. Obviously PS Now needs to be strengthened, maybe work with Epic for co-development of a new Playstation Home-like service that serves as a Ready Player One-like multimedia lobby, etc. I don't think they invested $250 mill. on them for nothing.
That said, the games I expected MS to show didn't wow me. I expected gameplay from Starfield but that release date was tough. Halo is Halo, and I lost interest after the original one. Forza had a good showing. No Fable. No Perfect Dark. No Everwild (I think... the Rare title). No Hellblade 2.
Redfall saved it imo(even if it was only CGI), but I'm biased for Arkane. Psychonauts 2 looked great but that one is still coming to PS4, I just hope they don't hold it back with a 30 fps framerate.
Quick stream reviews: ubisoft sucked, gearbox sucked, square sucked, good showing by MS, Prime Matter/Koch media had a better showing than the first three. E3 is not making a good case for itself as of Day 2. Maybe Nintendo can still save the day? or probably Bandai-Namco if they show more of Elden Ring, the game that is winning the summer for me so far.
@feral1975 Well, Final Fantasy Origin is trying something new with the cringe-worthy comic relief dialogue in a soulsgame. It's like Square said "lets you the FF games that our fans don't want."
@Omnistalgic Yeah! That has to be a thing. It´s like the most no-brainer PS5 remaster they could do. The only thing that would hold them back would be From´s busy schedule, depending on how many teams they have internally. Miyazaki said a few years ago, way before Elden Ring was even announced, that he was interested in making a new Armored Core game, the first series he worked on when he arrived at From.
Far Cry reached its peak with the third entry that polished what they'd done for Far Cry 2. All games after were just derivative reskins of the same systems plus the played-out ubi open world structure.
Smart strategy as you can't compete with MS' infinite budget, and might be more attractive for developers looking to remain independant but can leverage risk and get all the perks that come with the PS pipeline.
Not that MS' strategy is wrong but they don't have such a good track record with the devs they acquired. For example, Lionhead had many other interesting concepts but it was turned into a one-trick pony studio exclusively working on Fable and then it was just disbanded. Another one is Rare, whose output under MS has been underwhelming, at least compared to their N64 glory days.
I hope this is not still the case as I'm looking forward to whatever Harvey Smith and Arkane Austin are working on.
@Omnistalgic That game you want is probably going to be Bloodborne 2 as I don't think Sony would want to leave one of its biggest new IPs dormant for this gen, not when MS has the acquisitions checkbook out.
Good month! Always good to see Sega dusting off its classics and Squadrons looks interesting, I'm not a fan of Star Wars but Squadrons looks kinda fun.
I can see a new Jet Set Radio working as a sort of Fortnite-esque shared world. SEGA has one of the best back-catalogues in the industry and it's about time they started exploiting it a little bit more.
Really? I thought the gunplay was quite good actually, way better than Uncharted 4. Very sassy for Microsoft, considering they still haven't released a decent anything this generation. Still hoping they don't ruin the new Perfect Dark.
So, Tokyo Game Show then? As far as rumours go I hope a new Silent Hill is a reality but I'd take remakes of the first two games any day. A new 3D Castlevania would be nice, I was thinking with it following Dark Souls structure a little but Bloodborne already is the best Castlevania soulslike around. Maybe throw a little Monster Hunter magic in and have players defending a village against vampires, werewolves, etc.
"Day one" just adds unnecessary stress to both developers and customers. It's not like many people can afford to get all the gamees they want on day one.
@Juanalf Sony just doesn't have the infrastructure or budget to compete with MS so they have to be pretty strategic about which products and features they pursue. If Sony had failed as bad as MS did with the Xbone launch it would have bankrupted the entire company, but MS just dusted itself off and started working towards redeeming themselves like it was nothing. Although I hope more PS classic games, both console and portable, make it over to PS Now to make it a more viable competitor to GamePass.
