Re: Silent Hill 1 Remake Announced, from Bloober Team

@Kwyjibo_Kitsune I remember it well. I was all in during that survival horror craze so I played all those you mentioned XD, and the consensus then was that Silent Hill was the scariest game on playstation, Silent Hill 2 was massively anticipated when it was announced for PS2 and when it released it's success cemented it's status as a pillar IP for Konami.

Glad Konami remembered our boy Harry. This one just shot up to the top of my most anticipated list just below GTA 6.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced for PS5 at Xbox Games Showcase?

My feelings was that there LOTS of announcement but not "much". The only time I was genuinely surprised was with Super Meat Boy 3D. My other top games were ones we already knew about: Ninja Gaiden 4, Outer Worlds 2, Clockwork Revolution; these last two only because of the devs behind them because otherwise they look too generic "Fallout in Space" and "Steampunk Fallout" but Obsidian and InXile have premium RPG pedigree so I trust them to release clunky diamonds in the rough.

Re: Reaction: Sony Finally Understands the Assignment with One of the Best State of Plays of the PS5 Era

The lack of first party titles does deserve to be pointed out and criticized. It's the result of the failed push towards live service, if at least half of the games they've cancelled without announcements were single player they coul've had at least a couple of strong first party ip.

Instead, we got an unreleased game (Concord), a canned live service God of War, a canned Bend studios live service game, the canned Last of Us multiplayer, and we don't even know what the status is for Fairgames or Marathon, both of which can be very possibly cancelled too.

It was a great showcase but it was great inspite of the lack of first party presence. It would've been abysmal without the Marvel tokodon announcement.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for June 2025?

@PuppetMaster And can you blame them? Sony has announced at least as many first party cancellations in the last two years as they have released and/or announced. The live service push has been a monumental disaster.

That is BAD management, which is why Hulst got demoted.

Wasn't bad tbh. I was pleasantly surprised by quite a few of the announcements but the lack of first party titles is noticeable. Just goes on to show how thin the pipeline is after the cancellations that resulted (still) from the live service disaster.

Edit. Hulst and Ryan are probably Microsoft moles because how else can you explain their moronic "all eggs in one basket" approach to live service.

Re: Talking Point: Does Sony Really Need Some Kind of Summer Showcase?

AAA is a gamble. AAAA is a scam.

Imo "AA" (and/or indie triple iii) is the sweetspot for a game with great production values without the almost deadly risk of AAA and AAAA budgets.

This is what the industry needs to go back and forget about the soulless corporate-funded projects that take YEARS to make and are killing studios left and right with their insane budgets. It's unsustainable as it is right now.
