Update: A Plague Tale: Requiem has been confirmed for PlayStation 5 by publisher Focus Home Interactive, but it will not release on PS4. "Embark on an emotional and breathtaking journey in the sequel to the award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence," the blurb reads. "Follow Amicia and her brother Hugo, as they do whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world."

Original Story: A Plague Tale: Requiem, a sequel to underrated gem A Plague Tale: Innocence, was announced as part of the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase earlier today. The reveal trailer brought back main characters Amicia and Hugo for a follow-up that looks primed to feature even more rats. At least the background vistas look a lot sunnier this time around. The game was confirmed for Xbox Series X|S alongside a release window of 2022, but it's very likely to also be coming to PlayStation 5 and PS4.

Scrubbing through the digital event, there's not a hint of the exclusivity messaging before or after the trailer — instead only highlighting that it will come to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Therefore, it's very safe to assume that A Plague Tale: Requiem is simply a multiplatform game with a marketing deal tied to Microsoft. We await official confirmation from publisher Focus Home Interactive, but we think you're very safe to add this one to your wishlist.
