When did people get so entitled and think they could petition absolutely everything they don’t agree with. Besides, at this stage everything is complete hearsay so what is the point until we know the facts?

One, him working for Xbox is a rumor at this point so they are already seriously jumping to conclusions and two, he's a game developer who looks for partnerships to help keep his company and staff afloat because his company is not independent like say Rockstar. Just because most of his games are synonymous with a certain platform holder doesnt mean you are entitled to anything he does or that he is "betraying" you. Internet is full of so many entitled brats.

He can do what he wants of course, fans are also free to voice their disapproval. As a big fan of his previous game I'm sad that his latest venture won't be coming to PS but so be it. A lot of games I would be interested in aren't, it's just the way of the world.

Either have the money, time and space to commit yourself to more than one platform or make a choice. Maybe one day I'll have no choice but to either get an Xbox or download their app via my smart TV but that's far off in the future.

This signifies that both parties have agreed to a generalized deal while lawyers continue hashing out the finer points. They're actually closer to working together in reality than what was rumored, which has been a rumor up until now.

@Tharsman just a guess really but seeing as he didnt have one at all prior to using Decima Engine it stands to reason they didnt develop a new one from scratch in 2yrs. But I could be wrong and he might be using Unreal 🤷🏾‍♂️

Kojima has full autonomy and can do whatever he wants and PlayStation fans need to accept that third parties have no benefit being platform exclusive when they can make more money on multiple platforms, unless a platform holder is footing the bill for development thus obligated to remain exclusive. It's not like the PS1 and PS2 days when third parties could get away with only releasing games on PlayStation due to the sheer size of the playerbase alone being enough for returns. Remember the outrage when Devil May Cry 4 and Final Fantasy XIII went multiplatform? You can blame the PS3's low sales as the cause of this and it was from that point that all former third party exclusives would become multiplatform.

This is why first party games are more important than ever for a platform's success but unfortunately the current PlayStation administration seems to think otherwise.

Can we at least wait and see if it's even real?

It's just a shame that there was such a quick breakdown in the relationship between Hideo and Sony after Death Stranding. Maybe this was his original intention though, to shop around, see who's offering the most money/freedom. It's Hideo's decision and whilst I don't like it, I respect that as an independent developer he is free to go with whomever he chooses.

This is going to define this generation, fans on all platforms waiting to see which developer is next to be snapped up or sign some sort of exclusivity deal thereby depriving millions of gamers from playing their latest product.

I know this represents very few Sony/Kojima diehards and was probably started as a joke, but Come on....we all know he prefers PlayStation and his success/audience will mostly be on PlayStation, but part of Sony's Moto is to give established creators the freedom to do what they want. Herman has also stated that they like to start up their studio in exchange for a game and then let them go wherever they want and strike whatever deals they please. And that's the correct moto. One I'm sure will have an everlasting effect in Kojima-san, Jade Raymond, etc and will always have them coming back to Sony due to said goodwill.

@mariomaster96 True, but all companies know that, so there will be an alternative for some years to come, even if it is less physical and more download based. My downloads are slow, but with ps4 games are about 7 hours and with a big old HDD it's not so bad. However, since games are getting bigger it may be less tolerable and so internet speeds for more rural areas will need to improve before the majority will be on board with download only. Cloud based is definitely suburbs and cities only for the foreseeable future.

@Ward_ting May not be official as of yet but lets not forget how it got here. Kojima pitched his idea (the same one he is most assuredly pitching MS) and they turned him down. Again, Sony turned him down. He then pitched it to Stadia and they put a green light on it. And that green light ended when Google closed all in-house development. So Kojima and MS started getting cozy.

There are plenty of sane people but come on we all know there are some fanboys that PS console has that feel they are owed for their allegiance and just make us well-balanced people cringe in embarrassment with some of the things they do or say. At least they don't post videos of themselves sitting in a car outside their house crying about their plastic box vs another plastic box. This whole thing is a huge misunderstanding. It’s not going to be a cloud exclusive game. The whole thing is about Microsoft Azure, which is what Crackdown 3 is built on. Azure is/was 20 times more powerful than an Xbox One so they could do stuff within that game that would have been impossible without Azure. It even says in the article "Kojima Productions is on the cusp of signing a deal with Microsoft which would see it leverage the computing giant’s Azure servers to create a cloud-based experience." It has nothing to do with cloud gaming as we know it
