Those drab environments mean its simply the combat thats the draw and no doubt thats as rock hard as ever. 20 years ago Id have enjoyed the challenge, but not anymore and simply giving me assists that do the work for me is unlikely to feel satisfying to play. I appreciate that they have tried to make it accessible in this way, but I rarely feel involved if the game is simply doing things for me as opposed to the design allowing a difficulty I could play by myself. Thats just me though, if you like the challenge of these games and still have younger reflexes, then Im sure theres a lot to enjoy here.

Absolutely loved Motorfest, some of the best racing, and myself and my wife have never had such outright glee and laughter in a racing title as we did playing this game, despite being huge Forza fans and acknowledging how good that series is too. I love that they continue to add courses and content and its high time I went back to this title and enjoyed it again. I have a vrr tv and a pro...its smooth as silk.

I really loved the original game but am glad not to see garden warefare which I really didnt like. Ive been patiently waiting for this game, but Im a little concerned at these reports and hope they do not reflect the state of the game once its delivered 😮

@Oram77 I think you must have missed the bit where studios are closing down one after the other if their game is not successful. While I wouldn't expect that of Sucker Punch even if sales were mediocre, its nevertheless good to see a game you like, doing well and showing that a well crafted game with no monetisation and built to an exacting quality standard is still a great model for success. Good sales for good games are important if you want a bright future - otherwise you'll get AI slop. I'm glad you enjoyed the game even though I despair that you cant see the importance of success.

If you really enjoy a game, its nice to know others do too and that the team behind it have success and can produce another. This game is sublime and deserves all the success its getting. I never play games on my PC and much prefer gaming on a console, but I fully understand the opposite viewpoint. Be a boring world if we all thought the same. 😀 That aside, I still believe that if you are going to make a comparison between two bits of tech, they really should be at a similar price point, and most programs or channels that compare almost anything do so in a similar price point cause it just makes sense. I absolutely love playing this game. I feel the story and the side content are so intrinsically linked too. It takes a while to warm to her character but as you complete more and understand more, you become very invested - at least I have. I dont give that many games a 10, but this one is totally worth it to me. I think it improves on GOT in every single way and is beautifully crafted. Up there with the very best.

If your circumstances make such purchases harder for you than they were, I do have sympathy, and I pray your circumstances improve. But the data shows that's definitely not the case for the majority of people and wages have broadly kept up with inflation in most western nations over the last decade.

Nothing at all of course, they are not available for your PC no matter how expensive it was. In the Early 90's I'd pay up to £200 a pop on Neo Geo carts, and I remember spending £120 on one of the first Streetfighter carts on the SNES imported from japan. Stating its more complex to develop for exposes your lack of knowledge of dev processes or indeed the hardware differences of the two machines. With no extra development at all you already get improvement in base resolution and smoother frame rates. With very little extra dev time its fairly easy to recompile and add pssr upscaling - as long as the results are good with your engine. I don't understand why you would state something like that with no dev knowledge? I dont state anything with 100% conviction, but I was a dev for 20 years making AAA titles. If you wouldn't spend the money cause you think 2.5 years of use before a new gen is not enough, that's absolutely fine. Native PS5 is a fine machine and I'm happy that you are happy. Trying to frame the pro as a joke based on no knowledge at all though, is pretty low brow commentary.

Ghost of Yotei has me entranced and I don't expect I'll play anything else for a while. Theres a new swiitch 2 in the house, but I'll leave it till my wifes birthday on 29th before we set that up. We are old now, but its still nice to get a suprise on the day!

@themightyant Thanks dude. Same here, my gaming is usually on PS5 pro and always on the big screen. Wasn't going to get a switch 2 till they had more exclusives I want to play, but Claire's dropped hints for her birthday and I do have a tradition of buying her handhelds (first one was the Sega Game Gear way back in time).
@themightyant @somnambulance I'm a little cheaper - I do buy a significant percentage of my games in the sales. Then they sit in the pile and wait till I catch up - if I ever do! I also get a lot of variety and get to try things I would never have bought from a sub service, but in my case I prefer PS plus extra. New releases that I know I want - I buy, so Game passes new releases are not a win for me, I either own it or wasn't that interested. I've found over the years that the bigger library of PS plus extra works better for me than gamepass, where the smaller games being added (ie non release day titles) have often already been on PS plus before they hit GP. Now the price increase is here I've dropped it and mothballed the series X, so its PS plus I rely on for all those sleeper titles I never knew I wanted. Whichever service, it just puts pressure on my backlog.
With the series X uninstalled I'm awaiting arrival of a switch 2 today - I'll give it to my wife for her birthday on 29th. God help my backlog!

I'm thinking I can form a crew with my wife and enjoy time in the safe seas environment. We have two TV's and two pros in our living room, so this type of multiplayer is good for us - though the wife often uses the portal and sits next to me on the sofa (which is why I rarely get to use the portal) 😊 Now I've finally mothballed the series X, I'm looking to buy a switch 2 in the next week or so, so I think I need to save my money!

I dont see xbox gamers being attacked as much as the company. The exception to that is those who have stridently proclaimed how profitable the game pass model is - while it gets 100% increase since june 24 AND those that attacked anyone not in favour of the ABK deal which has ultimately screwed their traditional buisness model and lost xbox the semi-autominy it had always enjoyed in the past. I certainly havent enjoyed it. Ive always had every xbox and I used to sub to gpu without interruption until fairly recently. Pricing me out of the sub has left me with a machine I cant use and I uninstalled it yesterday with a heavy heart. Seriously mate, if you are upset at these articles, dont come here and read them. My understanding is you dont have playstation, so you could get the news you need on pure. Ive always found you to be upbeat and freindly, it would be a shame if you were to imesrse yourself in places which would change that if youve no need to consume that. Do the maths bud. It cheaper to buy a PS5 today than it was to buy a PS4 on launch in 2013. Games are cheaper too. Bank of England has a handy 'inflation calculator' you can pop your figures into. If you don't understand the concept of inflation just run a search!

Sorry but it statements like yours which are the real joke. Are you simply butt hurt that others play the game at higher res with smoother frame rates?
Like it or not, a pro is the best place to play games right now if you care about performance. Whether that's worth it to you or not will be a value judgement everyone makes for themselves, but trying to laugh at other people's choices is very immature.

I would never play cod anyway, but knowing as a newbie that your gonna get feasted on by a bunch of hardcore players looking for a killstreak is the ultimate turn off.

Ghost of Yotei has me entranced and I don't expect I'll play anything else for a while.
Theres a new swiitch 2 in the house, but I'll leave it till my wifes birthday on 29th before we set that up. We are old now, but its still nice to get a suprise on the day!

Thanks dude. Same here, my gaming is usually on PS5 pro and always on the big screen. Wasn't going to get a switch 2 till they had more exclusives I want to play, but Claire's dropped hints for her birthday and I do have a tradition of buying her handhelds (first one was the Sega Game Gear way back in time).

I'm a little cheaper - I do buy a significant percentage of my games in the sales. Then they sit in the pile and wait till I catch up - if I ever do!
I also get a lot of variety and get to try things I would never have bought from a sub service, but in my case I prefer PS plus extra.
New releases that I know I want - I buy, so Game passes new releases are not a win for me, I either own it or wasn't that interested. I've found over the years that the bigger library of PS plus extra works better for me than gamepass, where the smaller games being added (ie non release day titles) have often already been on PS plus before they hit GP. Now the price increase is here I've dropped it and mothballed the series X, so its PS plus I rely on for all those sleeper titles I never knew I wanted. Whichever service, it just puts pressure on my backlog.
With the series X uninstalled I'm awaiting arrival of a switch 2 today - I'll give it to my wife for her birthday on 29th. God help my backlog!

@Steeleye50 I couldn't agree more, this is one of the all time great games and well worth repeated plays. I'd strongly encourage anyone who has not tried it to do so, I think most would enjoy it at least.

I own 10 of those titles too though.. but not Neva which I might pick up at that price..
I also noticed SOT is £20 again. I'm thinking I can form a crew with my wife and enjoy time in the safe seas environment. We have two TV's and two pros in our living room, so this type of multiplayer is good for us - though the wife often uses the portal and sits next to me on the sofa (which is why I rarely get to use the portal) 😊
Now I've finally mothballed the series X, I'm looking to buy a switch 2 in the next week or so, so I think I need to save my money!

More options are always good. Xbox always have loads of different designs, so Sony could definitely offer more options.
I currently have 5, four different colours and a 30th anniversary one, so I'm not likely to pick this one up, but I don't mind that its an option

@Ricky-Spanish Its a shame that you feel that way and I can only conclude you are feeling rather defensive yourself after MS shot themselves in the foot again.
I dont see xbox gamers being attacked as much as the company. The exception to that is those who have stridently proclaimed how profitable the game pass model is - while it gets 100% increase since june 24 AND those that attacked anyone not in favour of the ABK deal which has ultimately screwed their traditional buisness model and lost xbox the semi-autominy it had always enjoyed in the past.
I certainly havent enjoyed it. Ive always had every xbox and I used to sub to gpu without interruption until fairly recently. Pricing me out of the sub has left me with a machine I cant use and I uninstalled it yesterday with a heavy heart.
Seriously mate, if you are upset at these articles, dont come here and read them. My understanding is you dont have playstation, so you could get the news you need on pure.
Ive always found you to be upbeat and freindly, it would be a shame if you were to imesrse yourself in places which would change that if youve no need to consume that. Have a good day mate and enjoy your gaming 👍

People discussing what is clearly the biggest news in gaming right now on a gaming site is clearly exactly what youd expect here.
The usual people who bristle the moment MS ever gets bad press are clearly upset, but its MS execs who killed their fave brand and deserve their ire, not those of us whove argued for ages that the service was clearly not sustainable.
To derride box loyalty whilst displaying it so clearly is laughable.
I guess to them 'irony' is not something they recognise.
