Crimson Desert PS5

Pearl Abyss has issued another sales update for its PS5 open world title Crimson Desert, confirming it's now sold more than five million copies. It achieved the milestone in less than a month, having launched on 19th March 2026.

The game's social media profiles celebrated the new sales update with a post, saying: "Thank you to every Greymane who has joined us on this journey, experienced the world of Pywel, and supported the game. Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without your support and we are truly grateful."

In the almost four weeks since its release, Pearl Abyss has been constantly updating the PS5 game, responding to and implementing features and tweaks based on player feedback. In the months to come, it plans to add a boss fight replay feature and difficulty settings. Over the weekend, it had a separate patch that improved the Greymane camp and added further graphical options.

Our Crimson Desert PS5 review came out at a 6/10, stating: "Far too many technical issues — of varying shapes and sizes — hold the experience back. But given time, and despite its obvious narrative shortcomings, Pearl Abyss' fantasy outing has the potential to be something truly special."
