Re: Here's Your First Look at Project Spirits, the Next Flagship Title from the Makers of Stellar Blade

Titntin

Im much more interested in the gameplay details than how big a pair of cartoon titties can be drawn, but hopefully those details will be forthcoming soon. I guess the artwork shows they will certainly still cater to the hairy handed mob, but no point breaking a winning formulea eh?
Look forward to seeing the game eventually, but Id rather the titilation was dialled back a bit as its likely to add nothing but distraction to the game mechanics. Wont stop me playing though.
Wouldnt be the first title Id reach for to demonstrate to people that games have grown up a bit though, I find this level of titalation childish - but hell it sells!

Re: Sony's Marketing the Massive Improvements PS5 Pro Makes to Forza Horizon 5

Titntin

Its worth Sony celebrating tbh. Ive had it on series X (and PC) since launch) and the pro version is definitely a better play on console - the pop in and reduced foiliage on Series X at 60hz was very noticeable to me, so the pro version is a really welcome change.
Yes it is unfortunate that that you cant change the awful script writting or characters which are laughably bad, but essentially they are just fluff to lead you to excellent racing...

Re: Mini Review: to a T (PS5) - The Most Joyful Game in the World

Titntin

@somnambulance I just saw your rating of this on pure and came here to read this review which I'd ignored. I love the zanniness of katamari, so how Id let this slip under radar is hard to imagine.
Thank you for extolling its virtues so highly, youve helped me find what I know Im going rate very highly. 👍

Re: First Bonus PS Plus Extra Game from Days of Play Available Now on PS5

Titntin

@EfYI I hope you do and enjoy it. Ive been on premium for a while and although I scoffed when they introduced the trials, Ive found them really useful and bought quite a few titles after getting a chance to try them this way.
The streaming is also really good way to try something quickly without downloading, so Ive gotten used to having that option.
33% is indeed a good discount, shame theres no discount for those of us already on premium. I guess they know they've got us anyway. Enjoy your gaming!

Re: PS Plus Subscription Sale Takes 33% Off, But There's a Big Catch

Titntin

Yeah Im not given to moaning much, but it does frustrate that loyal subbers dont get any offers on topping up their membership.
It bothered me enough that I replied to the PS blog post, and I rarely do that! 😀
Wont stop me extending anyway as I value it and I think thats what they are counting on...

Re: First Bonus PS Plus Extra Game from Days of Play Available Now on PS5

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare
"I don't need to be lectured by you either."
Only one person lecturing here. However you did take the time to tell me why you behave as you do, so I at least appreciate that.

I learnt some time ago that life is infinitely more enjoyable if you dont let trivialities anger you so much. I hope in time you learn that truth too and let go of frustrations and anger. This is gaming. The vast majority of us are here to have fun and Id hope you still do have fun regardless of any disagreements we may have.
Sorry to anger you so much, I genuinely wish you a better rest of the day.

Re: First Bonus PS Plus Extra Game from Days of Play Available Now on PS5

Titntin

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare
Belive me, you'd know it if I wanted to 'attack you' instead of question your motivation for acting as you do. Your poorly disguised insults should be beneath you.
Read your own comment history, so much of it is trying to pick holes in articles here or be down on any new released information , yet you seem to be an intelligent person - too intelligent to buy into the ' cool to be meh' culture thats so previlent here, so I asked why you do it, and its clearly touched a nerve.
These premotions are clearly planned months in advance, but the fact remains a previously unannounced title now being added to the service is definitely worthy of news on this site, and many of us will be happy to see it arrive.
What are you adding to the discussion or site, when you are not part of the service but do you best to disparage anyway? I asked for your motivation, not to double down on your attack on its announcement, but it seems you dont wish to share that with us - your perrogative I guess.
Insisting that such marketting PR, which has existed since the industry started, is 'ruining everything' is a frankly rediculous assertion.
If you wish to suggest my questioning of your montivation makes you some kind of ' victim' your welcome to do so, though I can assure you I would have asked the same question of anyone making such a post.

Whilst its clear the feeling will not be mutual, I never-the-less wish you a good day anyway.

Re: First Bonus PS Plus Extra Game from Days of Play Available Now on PS5

Titntin

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare
"what's a bonus PS+ Extra game?"
Its quite clearly a game announced as part of the current promotion, thats in addition to the previously announced games. Just as its written.
Your attempt to somehow cheapen the release baffles me, you have no stake in this news, so its clear your only motivation is to spread some fud and I genuinely wander why you would bother?

Im a happy psplus subscriber, and having wished to try this game in the past, Im happy this is added to the service this month when it was not expected. Giving us good games on the service we didnt previously expect is a positive thing, why would try and paint it otherwise?

Re: Random: Commemorative Launch Plaque of PS5 Catastrophe Concord Donated to Thrift Store

Titntin

Thats a real shame. Even if it flops, if you put your heart and soul into something you should never get rid of a thing recording your contribution.

In my front room, above my work desk, I have two similar plauques commemorating my roles for Dungeon Keeper 2 and Theme Park World from my time at Bullfrog. I would never part with them, they remind me of the times we spent crafting these titles and of people I dearly miss.

Re: Hundreds of Thousands Living a Fantasy Life in Level-5's Grand Return

Titntin

"we know the game has attracted 60k peak concurrent players on Steam this weekend, which puts it comfortably ahead of other big recent releases like DOOM: The Dark Ages."

This is the hill you wish to die on, for being totally unfair and unreasonable? This is an example of, as you put it, "evil to prevail"?
Unlike many reports in this field, it's actually factually correct regardless of your objections.

Thought I understood you a bit, but to pick this out as being unreasonable in sea of news that is often completely unfair or unreasonable is utter lunacy.
I will never understand your comments here, when you are often responding to much more unreasonable posts elsewhere without mentioning a thing.

Re: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time (PS5) - Level-5 Returns with Its Most Addictive RPG Yet

Titntin

Thanks for the review.

I wandered if I made an mistake when things were very child like and simple for the first couple of hours. But as the game expands, the writing improves, the characters start to exhibit the charm that makes you care, and the game reveals a scope and depth that really is very impressive. It's also well made, no glitches in the systems and worlds, I've had no jank.
I certainly didnt expect me to drop all other games for this title when I bought it (Doom, AC Shadows, Expedition 33 etc), but such is the games 'pull' that this is all I've played this holiday weekend, and my wife has felt exactly the same (good job we have two PS5's😊) .
If you are averse to cutesy, almost child-like storytelling RPG's, then this wont change your mind. But for those of us happy with such a setting and story, this is a fabulous game that can eat your time.
In the immortal words of the little robot in 'Short Circuit' - "Number 5 is alive!". Great to see level 5 back.

Re: Hundreds of Thousands Living a Fantasy Life in Level-5's Grand Return

Titntin

@Fiendish-Beaver Are you Ok mate? You do seem incredibly defensive today, which isnt normal for you, which is why I ask.
For what its worth Ive enjoyed what Ive played of doom, and of course game pass availablity would have ensured it hasnt sold in quite the same numbers it would have done otherwise (about 1 million sold as of 3 days back.)

Im not so sure Sammy celebrating the apparent succes of this title by comparing concurrent steam player player counts with other big releases of the week (of which Doom is the big one) warrents being described as MS bashing? Thats a bit of a reach mate.
Regardless, I hope your having a great day, F1 has just finished and Im going to start this game 👍😀

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 582

Titntin

Lots of games I've yet to finish, but Im going to play Fantasy Life i after the F1 today. I cant resist a new level 5 rpg! Also bought Spacemarine 2 in the sale.
Quite how I can put down Expedition 33 to play Fantasy Life, and shelve Doom to play Space Marine 2 will be a quandary to many I'm sure, but I can't help my own tastes and just want to have fun.

No matter what you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!

Re: PlayStation Stars Rewards Program Shutting Down, Sony Confirms

Titntin

Thats a shame! While I didnt care for the collectables and levels, I did enjoy getting a little 'cash back' from points trade ins and this helped me fund new purchases.
I guess it was not used so much as it never made it onto the console itself and relied on the PS app.
Still I didnt feel entitled to it and its removal will not affect me much. I don't see its removal as anti consumer - that's represented well by putting your game prices up to £80 😊

Re: Rockstar Quietly Increases Prices of Red Dead Redemption Games on PS4

Titntin

@Cornpop76 Whilst I don't disagree, you can simply buy psn credit cheaper - I always buy with about 15% discount. It takes a few minutes extra when I want to buy games, and to get the best discount rates I often buy £100 at a time, but %15 is significant and helps.
Couple that with nearly always waiting to buy in a sale and the funds I get fr om the PSN rewards scheme and I can't moan about the price I pay for most items...

Re: Site News: Where's Our Fantasy Life i PS5 Review?

Titntin

Love level 5, so I expect this to be good.
Its a shame if multiplayer is poor for those that wish to play that way. But thats absolutely not what these games are about for me and Id have been just as happy to see them not have such a mode.
Looking forward to this one!

Re: Just 4% of PS5, PS4 Fans Think PS Plus Premium Represents Good Value for Money

Titntin

@RiverGenie Ive never suggested that you should buy premium if you have no use for it, why would anyone do that?
As someone who occasionally likes to stream games before comitting to downloading and installing them, and has played quite a few of the premium titles, and values the new game trials, £1.66 is well worth it. Suggesting its some kind of rip off is insanity. No one needs to pay for it if they are not going to use it, simple.

I commend you for buying games you've played on gp, the world needs more of that. Im still on gp ultimate till 5th of next month, but I bought Oblivion remastered and Expedition 33 regardless this month, though I buy everything on ps5 as I prefer the platform. Indeed my series x is only a gp machine, fh4 being the only title Ive ever bought on it. On ps5 Ive bought 17 titles this year so far, many as a result of trying via ps plus trials which is another benefit of premium. Two as a result of trying on game pass.
Im not sure I see your point? We appear to behave in a similar fashion, im just much more attracted to ps eco system and I get good use from premium? Why would that upset you?
Regardless, happy gaming to you and I hope you are having a great day.

Re: Like It or Loathe It, This Is Why Sony Won't Stop Trying to Make Live Service Games for PS5

Titntin

I've no issue at all with them chasing this model as long as they do so whilst catering to other sectors of their market, which is exactly what they appear to be doing now. It would be pretty stupid to ignore it when it's the giants share of the profit for almost any platform holder and a very popular method of gaming, particularly for the younger audiences who are their future market as more and more of us oldies die off . People on this site never have, and never will, represent the bulk of the games market. I'm pretty happy about that, as so many are so miserable about a hobby that continues to make me and many more millions of people very happy.

Sony are doing just fine, making record profits (without immediately sacrificing large proportions of their staff), selling huge numbers of their platform and still delivering fantastic games of their own alongside 3rd party publishers (I can't wait for DS2 for example - and they had GOTY last year).

I don't understand people who suggest there are 'no games' when so many of us have backlogs larger than at any other time in the history of games ( I started with the original Atari 2600 in 1977 when I was 13yo and have never stopped). There has never been so much choice and quality in gaming.

The saying "You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time" has never rang so true.

Re: Just 4% of PS5, PS4 Fans Think PS Plus Premium Represents Good Value for Money

Titntin

This site continues to try and press 'outrage buttons' to drive up engagement. Its sad, but it works, so fair play.

At £1.66 a month above extra to access the premium titles and streaming, I'm perfectly fine with it.

Whilst I'll acknowledge you can get some great titles on Game pass, it's also %50 more money than a Premium sub, and you have to play on an Xbox, which is definitely not my preferred platform - and offers worse streaming quality than psn.
I've been on Game pass off and on (last 7 months have been great, but next 6 not so much for me), so I've just about to unsub there. I remain subbed to premium and will continue to remain so as I value it.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing DOOM: The Dark Ages?

Titntin

@themightyant No mate, I played TH 1&2 for about 2 hours, it just gave me a headache and no enjoyment. I'd try them, but its not worth much to me to do so. The next 6 months of GP would cost me another £90 and I'm just not seeing the value there, for my tastes. I bought Expedition 33 to support the devs and same with Oblivion remastered - which also means I play them on PS, which I prefer and means my wife gets to play them (she will not touch the Xbox, hates the controllers and wont hold em.) So value is going down for my situation and the value in GP was in the first 6 months, not seeing it in the last 6 months. It had a good run, after a year without subbing I subbed again for Indy and have kept it till now. The good thing with MS not offering a yearly price is that I can drop it as soon as its titles no longer appeal to me.
We can only hope for Silksong! Again though, I'd far rather 'own' it than rent it for a while and pay £180 a year to do so.

It should take a year or so before I manage to get through all the amazing titles in my backlog, and anything essential that releases I often prefer to buy, so I'm not missing anything by stopping GP. I had not subbed to GP for 13 months before september, quite happy to be without it.

P.S. Just started playing doom and I'm really enjoying it despite not getting on with most shooters.

Re: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (PS4) - Deep Cuts and Cool Crossovers Make a Strong Combo

Titntin

Im not a fighting game specialist (i was always a schumup man), but I recognise a quality line up when I see it, and this is excellent, especially having the original powerstone, what a great game.

I also have to commend capcom for the attention to details it shows in every compilation release and the options it has. If you are switching between Japanese or English versions in the options screen for instance, the pictures of the cabinets in the background will change to reflect the version, with those having Japanese titles changing to reflect that different title. Class.

Thanks for the thorough review Sammy
