Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 589

Titntin

I've been playing Dragons Dogma 2 since last week. I fell off it hard the first time I tried it, but once you overcome the initial difficulties and accept it for what it is, its actually a deeply satisfying experience and it looks great and maintains smooth framerates on a ps5 pro with a vrr tv..(balanced mode, raytracing on, unlocked frame rate).
Im a little captivated by it, so I might not even manage any FH5 racing this weekend 😀

Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you're having a blast!

Re: Romero Games Appears to Have Closed as Xbox Layoffs Cast Dark Shadow Over Industry

Titntin

@Fiendish-Beaver Im laughing right now as I knew this would be the defence you'd raise on my previous points, it was the only option.😀
Even were we to accept that he's been completely blindsided by everything (which would be very naive), that would be completely irrelevant. Leadership is about taking responsibility, its why they get paid stupid amounts of money. If Phil made solid commitments to how they would run xbox, then he should have been at every board meeting shouting and arguing to preserve xboxs soul - they havent always just answered to shareholders and the balance sheet. If he failed, he shouldnt now be spouting a different corporate message, he should move on with some dignity and integrity.
Bless you for thinking the best of him. But he's got you suckered mate, he's as sneaky and slippery as all the other word salad producers.

Re: Blackpink's Lisa Is the New Global Face of PlayStation

Titntin

Probably not my thing, but playstation have shown time and again that they know how to market themselves, so Im sure this will achieve the results they want for their target audience.
Im a little weird so I'd respond better to some of their classic old advertising myself.
Really right now I'm sure their best advert would be:
Playstation - we're not Microsoft.

Re: Romero Games Appears to Have Closed as Xbox Layoffs Cast Dark Shadow Over Industry

Titntin

@Fiendish-Beaver Hes just saying what a large portion of the industry are saying.
Phil's said time and time again about how xboxs acquisitions would bring stability to studios, allow for diverse games and passion projects etc etc.
The truth is anything but, its an absolute disaster zone and if your lies get exposed for everyone to see then you deserve to be called out for it.
Phil is slimey suit liar like all the lying xbox execs, and as thousands of devs now have to struggle to look after their families its not right that this liar gets to sit pretty in his office no doubt inventing more lies to feed the weak minded who believe anything he says. Pointing out the juxtaposition of the liar sitting safe while devs are being hung out to dry is perfectly valid thing to do.
Why you cant see this baffles me, you lie, you should take responsibility. Obviously not in slimey Phils world.

Re: Opinion: Diablo 4's Story Campaign Is Well Worth Playing on PS Plus

Titntin

Cut scenes were excellent, characters and story so so.
Once you've found your build, the game gets pretty monotonous quickly in my experience - Id often drift off to sleep while playing..
I only finished the main story, but it took me about 100 hours and I was desperate to finish it by the time it ended.
Contast this with Diablo 3 which I played through multiple times and enjoyed doing some end game grinding.

Its a perfect PS plus game you get to try it without shelling out! I hope many more enjoy it.

Re: Sony Sued for 'Abusing Its Dominant Position in the Console Market'

Titntin

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare
UK, I have never not been able to get a substantial discount on my psn credit, usually %14 (best to buy £100 at a time to get this reduction, smaller amounts have less savings). I spend many hundreds and always buy my credit this way, takes a couple of miniutes.
Simply type 'Cheap PSN credit' into google and you'll get loads of options. Im sorry but I dont know if you will be offered options for your region....

Take a look 👍

Re: Feature: Top 20 PS5 Games of 2025 So Far

Titntin

Nice list.
Expedition 33 is unfortunately not anywhere near my top game, Ive put in 50 hours but nothing about it gells with me at all. Some of that will be the parry mechanics of course, I dont want them in a turn based jrpg and I struggle with it. But even the characters (I cheered when we lost Gustave as I hated him) though Esquie is a great character. Even the music doesnt do much for me. This is pretty weird as Im not a contrarian and I normally get it when everyone loves a game, so Im left scratching my head wandering what everyone is seeing that Im not!
Not to worry, we are only halfway through the year and theres been plenty of titles I have loved. Happy to see Blue Prince got some love, and also Fantasy Life, but its weird to see Forza Horizon 5 in the lists when I played it so long ago. I did double dip though, its fantastic on a pro and well worth another play through.
With so many great games coming at such a fast rate, its very hard to see why some people state we are in the worst gen ever... feels like the best to me.

Re: Sony Hasn't Given Up on Adding More PS3 Games to PS Plus Yet

Titntin

I assume that confirms theres limited streaming capacity allocated to ps3 titles, so he wants to swap them around to ensure access?
Heres an idea, dont swap them out, increase streaming resources to cope, or look seriously at a ps3 emulator. If they had started working on one a few years back when they should have, it would have been pretty capable by now...

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2025 Announced

Titntin

Decent line up.
I hope people enjoy Diablo 4 more than me. I was a huge fan of Diablo 3, but by the end of no 4 I was desperate for it to just end!

Im not likely to be tempted by the fighter and Jusant is already on extra so I already have it installed - its a chill game Im enjoying.

Nothing for me then, but a decent mix that means most should have a title they want to try..

Re: PS5 Sales Sensation Black Myth: Wukong Gets Its First PS Store Discount

Titntin

@DennisReynolds Then you are aware of it. Your first post implied you were not aware of the patch, so I thought I was providing useful information.

As for its effectiveness or not, we can agree to differ. The eurogamer link I sent was fron Digital Foundrys Oliver, who concluded ' I'm pretty comfortable recommending the PS5 and Pro versions of the game now, just with a few caveats.'
I dont always, but in this case I agree with him and the piece describes and provides measurements to back up his conclusions. You are welcome to provide your own data which shows this to be false, or reach different conclusions of course, but your original statement claiming there have been zero improvements is just not right. You can state they have not been nearly enough for you, but there is plenty of evidence to showcthat improvements were made.
Sorry you didnt enjoy the patch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 586

Titntin

Fantasy Life i still, so much content It might take a while to finish!
I fancy some arcade stick schumup goodness, so Im goiing to play Cygni which I picked up in the sale recently.
Im still replaying Forza Horizon 5 too, I never tire of these titles.

Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Last of Us Part 2, 5 Years Later?

Titntin

An absolute masterclass of story telling imo.
Its a shame this was one of the titles that started online hate campaigning, as those who threw their controller down in disgust at Joels demise developed a rage that they felt they had to declare to the world.
But to me this is games as art, and as great as every single component is, the sum of these parts still pushes higher into one of the most memorable games - right up there with my goats like Ico and Elden ring. Its special.

Re: Fans Can't Believe PS5 Has Made More Profit Than All Previous PlayStations Combined

Titntin

Nice to see. Ive seen all generations since gaming started and Ive never had a bigger better backlog of games to play on playstation.
Ps5 has so far been my fave gen.
Some people seem hung up on 1st party titles, but as long as I have great games to play why should I care what the opening logo says? Seriously, unless Im a shareholder, why would I care, Im playing great games?

Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2025 So Far?

Titntin

Blue Prince
Fantasy Life i
Days gone remastered (surprisingly)

Didnt like Expedition 33, to me putting parry mechanics in an rpg destroys what I like about rpgs, and I didnt gel with the characters at all (I was delighted when we lost the first). However, im delighted for the studio and that so many enjoyed it.

Re: The Next Xbox Is a PC, So What Does That Mean for PS6?

Titntin

@themightyant Interesting stuff eh? I would hope they focus on getting game efficiency out of windows as a priority. At present, if you had a machine costing $1000, $250 of that is paying for windows lack of efficiency vs , say, steam. Thats a huge burden in terms of competitive advantage.
As for backwards compat, windows central keep mumbling about hardware inclusions to ensure it without emulators. I can see that for earlier platforms such as og xbox and 360 (after all, Sony inluded ps2 chips in early ps3 machines for the same reason). But they cant stick series x chips in their new hardware as they are already going to be up against it when it comes to cost...

Be fascinating to see how they solve this...

Re: The Next Xbox Is a PC, So What Does That Mean for PS6?

Titntin

@themightyant Im aware of this thanks, but Im betting it will have windows badging in addition to xbox on start up, and have more adds. You are also likely to need to drop to windows to sort some messes out. If you ever use windows you will know what I mean.

Re: The Next Xbox Is a PC, So What Does That Mean for PS6?

Titntin

Much as a tv freindly PC is desirable, the idea of seeing windows boot on a games machine is disturbing to me, i just dislike windows intensely.
Ive always owned xboxes though so I await proper details with an expectation I might be interested. My games catalogue is almost all PS though, so I dont have that concern, but I dont think they will achieve full back compatability easily even with onboard chips for xbox, 360 and xboxone.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2's PS5 Version Could Be Announced Next Week

Titntin

It would be really good to see this game get a significant ps5 lift in performance,, and I'd hope for some decent pro features too.
I keep meaning to replay this, but I've been waiting for the ps5 release.. It won't make it a better game, but it's breathtakingly beautiful environments could sing on a ps5 version, and who doesn't want to see that 😉

Re: 38% of PS Plus Members Are Paying More for Extra, Premium

Titntin

Premium is about half the price of a cup of coffee a month.
I like being able to try a game quickly via streaming before committing to a download and I've bought many games after getting the chance to try them in premiums game trials.
For me it makes sense. They even occasionally add a game I'll play 🤣
Everyone's different. Maybe for many people that £1.60 is better spent elsewhere, but I value having premium.

Re: Yep, PlayStation's PC Games Will Be Playable on Xbox's New Handheld System

Titntin

This is a PC, of course it plays PC games? It doesnt play your xbox games though..... And once people start draining their battery playing modern releases at 540p with poor performance, the reality will set in.
Xbox are set to transition to PC only and if your xbox game doesnt have a pc equivalent, its gone.
So much misinformation around this badged rog ally, but I shouldn't be surprised!

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at Summer Game Fest 2025?

Titntin

Started off with almost everything looking exactly the same! It was a good dark fantasy theme but weird that they all looked so similar.
Things got more mixed up and theres at least 8 or 10 titles Id like to try, but it didnt hit me as well as the SOP did a couple of days before. Maybe it was the presentation, and Geoff kept the titles coming fairly quickly, but there still felt like there was too much filler..
Tons of games to look forward to over the two shows though, and still the Microsoft show to come, Im enjoying the week.

Re: Reaction: Sony Finally Understands the Assignment with One of the Best State of Plays of the PS5 Era

Titntin

@HonestHick OK, I get you. If people been talking that in the past then you gotta a right to turn it round on them now. I finally get it.
They were stupid though.

I loved the sop as Im interested in everything except baby steps. Ill watch Keighly tonight and hope theres a ton of other stuff that excites me too. Im also hoping for a great Xbox show, which I expect as they've been having good shows lately.

I just love games, all genres any platform and it just saddens me a bit that people use it as another chance to fight. Guess you cant change human nature. Hope you enjoy the coming shows if you didnt get the SOP.

Re: Reaction: Sony Finally Understands the Assignment with One of the Best State of Plays of the PS5 Era

Titntin

@HonestHick
Ive never stated a showcase must have exclusives and that seems to be something you've invented. It just needs exciting games. That you were having a ' knock on Sony fans' didnt need saying, it is the key driver for most of your posts snd sullen bitching is not sarcasm. Everone called out for posting such rubbish always falls back on 'it was sarcastic', yeah, of course it was.

Ive edited this post to remove some more choice wording. I dislike your posts, but I should still not sink to your level in my replies. I will wish you a good day and move on.
