It's another massive week in the world of PlayStation, with Crimson Desert and a dozen or so other titles out. As always, we want to know what you're playing.
Jamie O'Neill
I'll return to one of my favourite games of 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, in appreciation of Stephen's March feature, which is aptly titled SEGA's PS5 Games Get Good Reviews, So Why Aren't You Buying Them?
Stephen Tailby
I've been playing something for review lately, which you'll learn more about very soon. Aside from that, I'll probably be playing something a bit more chilled out, like Lumines Arise or Slay the Spire.

Sorry, it's a short but sweet WAYP this week. But that shouldn't stop you from showing up in the comments. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know below.

I got Infinite Ammo in Resident Evil Requiem ... so I am running around Requiem-ing everything in the game I got it by completing a run where I did not heal or blood craft(as Grace)!
On the side I have Infernax and Metroid Fusion that I have never finished, still stuck on the gravity abomination boss
Happy gaming everyone!
Platinum #147 this week, Romeo is a Dead Man! Now I’m fully locked and rotating between Minishoot Adventures, the incredible Resident Evil Requiem, and the incredibly divisive Crimson Desert. This game, for my money, is what I wanted. It’s got Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Tears of the Kingdom and KoreanJank (the cousin to EuroJank) all in one package and I love it.
After reading the article about Shenmue III and talking to a mate who’s played all 3 I’m going to get 1 and 2 hopefully this weekend. Never played them and they’re super cheap at the moment.
Same mate also put the PSVR2 on me and I was immersed in the safari scene on Call of the Mountain and now I really want to revisit HZD 😂
I really want to play other Resident Evil remakes as Requiem has given me the survival horror bug.
Balatro a lot too as I’ve seemed to have forgotten about it.
Football with a couple beers as standard 😉
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment: I literally have it ready to boot up but with no actual playtime so I cannot comment.
What I can comment on is 81 hours of Pokémon Legends Z-A: it was quite enjoyable. True, the visuals weren't stunning but the battle system was engaging and the story compelling, and this marked the first time I 100%ed a Pokédex thanks to the gradual introduction of new areas in which they appeared. Tepig has also been somewhat redeemed in my eyes as an excellent special attacker with a lot of heft (unusual for Fire starters) who can tank even a direct hit from a powerful Water move like Hydro Pump without fainting. That'll do, Tepig; that'll do.
GTA III
Finished all the missions in Portland and have moved on to Staunton Island. 31 packages found.
Stardew Valley
Day 20 of Spring in Year 1. Doing basic planting and harvesting tasks and the odd bit of fishing to earn money.
The Outer Worlds
Completed the game. Got a bit tired of side quests and mainlined it from about two-thirds of the way through. Solid B-Tier.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Completed the game and collected all treasures. B-Tier.
Now that I've finally gone current gen again, I had been intending to play Alan Wake 2 over the last week, however, I got somewhat distracted by 'PS5 rite of passage' Astro's Playroom instead, which is, of course, excellent. As I was playing, it was reminding me of something but I couldn't think what... then it suddenly came to me: it's like a Psychonauts level if Raz went into the mind of a Playstation obsessive 😂 Such as most of us in this comments section, I guess!
Anyhow, now that I have finished with Astro's Playroom, I'll be starting Alan Wake 2 today. Bring it on!
I'll also be continuing with Trails in the Sky the Third, which I started last weekend. It's so good to be back in the company of these characters again.
Have a good one folks.
@Zuljaras yeah I’m on my third playthrough doing that. Maxed out Requiem is a beast
Make a start on my Dante playthrough on Devil May Cry 2 and ideally get pretty far through it as I want the plat done and dusted before April and there’s a lot to do. So far I’m not finding it the travesty that most people seem to think though, as I actually thought the Lucia playthrough was alright. Happy weekend y’all!
Currently grinding my way through Grind Survivors. Might also pick up Voidwrought for some metroidvania goodness.
I have to do 12 more races in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and then I'm done with this game. Test Drive Unlimited on Xbox360 was way better.
Warhammer 2. Played the first two levels and it's great. I'll continue this tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!
Fatal Frame 2 remake, while it's one of the best horror games ever the combat...... was changed and not for the better imo, some fights literally take like 5 mins to do, but apart from that I'm having a lot of fun.
Still playing through Dark Souls 2 (it's huge!) and loving it. Just a couple more bosses before I roll credits. After DS3, I think I'm going to give Sekiro another chance after bouncing off it hard when it came out. I've got a bunch of newer games (Doom The Dark Ages) that I want to play, but Dark Souls has really got it's claws into me. I haven't even seen the PSSR2 uplift on a Pro game yet
I might even do a replay of Bloodborne if I can stand the framerate (I can get there but it takes a day or two), maybe Elden Ring after. So that's me sorted for the next six month, by which time, hopefully Lords of the Fallen 2 will be out
Have a great weekend folks!
Edit: Don't mean to brag, but I've beaten these guys today:
I'm kind of a big deal (😏😄)
Plan to finish Banishers Ghost of New Eden. Then finally fire up Persona Royal 5.
I will not be playing CD. But it will happen 1 day 😉
Crimson Desert, Yotei Legends and I might try to chase down the platinum in Nioh III. I finished the game during the week with 4 trophies left (not counting the plat), but for the life of me I can't find the last myth or the last hot spring...
Marathon
The more I play, the better this game gets. Can't wait to jump into the new endgame map (Cryo Archive) with some mates tonight... and get absolutely destroyed no doubt! If Sony give this game time to breathe, Bungie have another exceptional shooter on their hands that can only continue to improve.
Have a great weekend out there, whatever you get up to.
Still playing through Avowed just got to the 3rd area and apart from the crashing on fast travel I'm enjoying it.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. This weekend I will be continuing my quest to get all the ? panels Mario Kart World and Final Fantasy XVI. I mean, only in MKW, there are no ? panels in FFXVI,
AFAIK (as far as I know). I also started Dispatch. Happy gaming time everyone.
When I am online I am playing some Marathon with some battlefield 6 on the side. With the new PSSR 2.0 both look a lot more crisp!!!
On the Pro Crimson Desert. Played about 4 hours and really enjoying it. This game is nothing like The Witcher but more similar to a Breath of the wild in terms of exploration, controls that are clunky and meh story. Graphics remind me of Dragon's Dogma 2. Definitely not for everyone this game
Tekken 8 and Bleach Rebirth of Souls.
I’ve got a busy weekend, but if I do play games I’d like to get back to Requiem. If not that one, I’ve got Rubato ready to play too. Operation: Complete Everything I’ve Purchased This Year Before Pragmata Releases is going according to plan at the moment.
Persona 5 strikers, again. It’s a long game plus I finish my games rather slowly. 😂
Good game though.
Also got wind waker running on my android device.

When I'm not watching to football over the weekend I'll be on space marines 2 such a great game and really looks amazing aswell I'll play a bit of resident evil 4 and eafc 25 aswell happy weekend guys!
Ps5 - I'm working my way through Cronos the new dawn. Nearly finished it now. Really enjoyed it.
XSX - I'll play some Avowed and try and stick with it this time. It's not really grabbing me so far.
Switch 2 - I bought DK bananza during the week so I'll be starting that and hopefully loving it.
Steamdeck - I started playing Final Fantasy x again recently so I'll be dabbling with that. Maybe some Deep Rock Survivors.
I'll also be messing around with some Arc Raiders and Marathon as well I'd imagine. Have a good weekend everyone.
I'm taking my time with Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. I finished a fantastic haunting case where you discover the truth about one character that was all "super sweet and innocent," but it was all a facade, and he's actually a manipulative sociopath... I even chose to "blame" him, despite going for the Ascension ending... The game is such a masterpiece.
First off, I finished the Star Wars Oulaws DLC and I had a blast doing so. Love this game and it was great to return to it, and imo its a lot better than for example the user score on metacritic would have you believe. Especially after the patches for the stealth gameplay. Anyway, opinions and all that but for me is a great game!
Im not playing Crimson Desert, cannot bloody decide if I want to play now or wait for patches (which I should). The reviews and YT videos are a bit all over the place. I'm hoping that some of the commenters here will have played it, maybe some feedback from people outside of the business so to speak might help me make a decision.
Instead of Crimson Desert, I’m playing Metal Eden and I'm enjoying it. Its a fast paced, linear action game with good gameplay and fun traversal and interesting setting but its pretty repetetive. Imo its a very solid 7/10 and a perfect game for a service, I dont think I would have picked this up otherwise and I'm happy that I did. I think I'm nearing the end after maybe 6-7 hours of play so its a shorter game and thats ok, it means it doesnt outstay its welcome.
Happy weekend you all!
@Divergent95 I loved it and will eventually jump back in for my final (second ending) trophy for the platinum. A great example of how AA done well can be a compelling experience.
Bought PS Plus to try MP cause it's been a long time, but I'm quickly reminded why I'm not really a fan. Long wait times in lobbies waiting for others to join or press fackn Ready. GTAO is still fun but still takes too much time to join a session. MHWilds MP, a lot of players just hacking at the monster didn't even make it notice I was there, felt like solo is where the challenge is at. Same with EAWRC, people were just not pressing Ready, just had to quit the game. Aside that I'll just go back to SP and play KCD2, ER and MHWilds offline.
Finished my second playthrough of Elden Ring, started Shadow of the Erdtree now for the first time. Nice to have a challenge again, after Elden Beast melted under my blasphemous blade.
So, bought the wife a new car, the deal being i get a PS5 Pro (yaaay) ..get it home, boot up Crimson Desert - for the Pro to immediately overheat and shut down ! 3 times ! Nnoooo......turns out plugging it into an extension lead isnt a great idea lol
..works fine now and only an hour into Crimson Desert and its fine so far, looks like the kind of game I can get lost in. The controls are weird but I actually don't mind that, I'm looking forward to playing a game that doesnt hold your hand and keeps telling you how to control your character all the time ! Though it does look garish in Quality mode 😬...
Will play this more when I finish a busy working couple of days.
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
I have to finish Requiem, then Crismon Desert. Then Pragmata need to finish them all quickly I am seriously entertaining the idea of getting Starfield.
This week I finally jumped into the Trails train. Trails In The Sky First Chapter, what a beautiful game. Still in the 1st city, but I can already see why the franchise is so well regarded. The worldbuilding is amazing, the characters are compelling and interesting, and the combat system is varied and engaging.
Also, I'm playing Judgment. Just started chapter 4, and the plot keeps giving. I will continue Marvel's Spider-Man 2, this great showcase of the PS5 power, and Assassin's Creed Shadows, which I think I am more than halfway the main story.
Lots of great games, what a time to be alive.
I finished Dreams of Another on Ps5+Psvr2. I did not expect this game to be so long, and for me it was a bit too long for what there is. I really like the rendering technique and the music. The dialogues are sometimes very good, sometimes I am not so sure. Overall a cool "game", a bit too long and it feels a bit expensive at full price.
Is there a reason Push Square doesn't let you vote on what you're playing each weekend so you can see the results of what's popular now? Like you guys do over on Nintendo Life.
ABCD
Anything But Crimson Desert 😀
Crimson Desert
where I am:
Meeting Goblins with shoes for hats

Throwing bandits off of things

And being unexpectedly killed by, seemingly harmless, pretty glowing plants 💀

@KingPev Really, are you talking about an extension with multiple sockets, is that what your base PS5 uses with no issues cause I've been using consoles through extensions since forever.
@Darude84 a consort is patiently waiting for you.
@DrVenture69 I also bounced off Sekiro hard when it came out.
Your milage may vary, but I revisited in 2024 and it's one of my favourite games ever now. Two things changed - for one I approached it as a straight up action game, (which it is) and not a Soulslike.
More importantly, I played it at launch on PS4 Pro. The framerate was unlocked and fluctuated wildly, which lent parrying an unpredictable margin of error. Playing in 2024 on my PS5, the game was a locked 60FPS, which eliminated this issue entirely.
Alongside Fallout 4 I'll be doing some entertaining environmental takedowns in the classic Sleeping Dogs.
@Marquez It's crazy just how much replayability they offer. The fact that there are five different endings is craazy, and the haunting cases are different based on your choices! Without spoilers, Jane and Squire Paris, for example, can be completely different if you spare or "blame" Thickskin! Glad you enjoyed the game and I hope you have fun on your second playthrough!
Still gradually making my way through Nioh 3, I'm right at the end of the second region, fighting my way through "The Crucible", as it's known. Can't wait to battle Ronnie O'Sullivan
@Shepherd_Tallon If I'm remembering right, I missed a hot spring in the final area of the first region. It's only accessible by replaying the story mission that takes you there, as it's blocked on the world map. Just in case that helps!
I will continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the iconic and legendary the incredible the elder 📜 scrolls skyrim 5 anniversary edition. And I will continued playing fan favorite the amazing devil may cry 4 special edition. I will be watching my michigan wolverines 💛 💙 basketball 🏀 playing in the ncaa basketball tournament. And I will be watching my boston celtics 💚🖤 play.and I will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers. Married with children. And saved by the bell.word up son
Crimson Desert but considering if I should postpone it till it receives a few patches, but that would mean having to get use to its controls again, which are a ballache.
@MrPeanutbutterz @DrVenture69 Sekiro is still like other FS games albeit a different leveling up system. Like the others too, you have to take notes of item descriptions and npc dialogues which could help you in battle. Could've played it at 60fps on PS5 but opted to still play on PS4, beat it and got the Shura ending.
I got my ps5 Pro yesterday (my wife went and got it from argos for me) so yesterday was a looooong day at work. I'm really quite a manchild so I had to send @Sanquine a photo of it sat in the car taunting me..So today I'll be playing marathon and finally starting AC shadows with the ps5 Pro upgrade. Why not GT7 I hear you all shouting? Well I forgot the pro dosnt have a BR drive so I've got to buy one before I can play it. Next week it's psvr2 time. Have a great weekend folks..I know I will👍
I started a replay of Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition with the goal to play every story mode and dlc stage.
Beyond that I’m playing through Mega Man The Wily Wars and I’m planning on starting Resident Evil Village
@TheArt hey bud if you want to rally up on EA wrc just ask..I'm always up for the rally.
Crimson Desert for me, I was on the fence for a while but fancy a change of pace after Requiem. Going in and based off some comments/review I was half expecting the controls to feel sluggish like RDR2 (they aren't) and for the control scheme to be awkward (it isn't). I'm only a few hours in and already this is a world which is making me excited to be let off the leash to explore it
I just started Alice: Madness Returns.

Game is from 2011 so controls are a bit old-fashioned, but the art direction still holds up nicely.
After surviving a hectic week and getting a minor pay rise. I’ve decided to hang out with Dave the diver and stardew valley for some peaceful vibes.
Nearly done with Gravity Rush Remastered and then its off to start Crimson Desert.
Enjoy the weekend everyone
@mac_da_man Metal Eden is one of those games that got ignored during release, but I thought was very enjoyable. Playing it on Brutal difficulty really opened up the mechanics.
Did get hell is us last night but got cold now, so not sure if im enjoying it or not. Seems good but at same time at moment not sure if im in the mood for it or not. So i have returnal downloaded so might that another playthrough in pteperation for saros. Or might go full chill and put stardew valley on 🤣
@Daleaf I’m sort of in the same boat. Currently doing a platinum run of Hell Is Us. The game is okay the enemies are boring as hell. The story is good and the graphics and gameplay are fine. PSSR update has certainly upgraded the graphics. But back to the platinum, it’s a pain in the ass to do lol. Without a guide forget it 😁
@Northern_munkey If it isn't the CEO of Rally International himself 😆😆I'll hit you up bro.
@TheArt " If it isn't the CEO of Rally International himself." I like it 👌
More AC Shadows is on the table for me, going to try and focus main story stuff even though I'll crumble at the first Torii gate I see that isn't on the road i should be following.
@Northern_munkey @TheArt rally games are so good! But I just can’t quit with GT7 sport mode. No matter how many times I get rammed off the track by some moron 😆. Brands hatch GP is up this week with GT3 cars. It’s soooooo good
@ErrantRob it was a surprise that it was so good for a game I had totally missed.
Thinking of trying Brutal for another go but we’ll see if I have it in me 😅
crimson desert if it arrives today on the pro. mizzurna falls on the duckstation if i’m up for some old school jank and guide following.
@TheArt ..yeah, well it was a 3 way adaptor plugged into an extension lead ! 😅 soon as I plugged it into the wall it was fine. Panicked me though. Schoolboy error 😉
I noticed with on portal with no VRR in the way Assassins Creed Shadows PSSR cleaned up the framerate with the 2.0 toggle so I’m back at it now, nice n smooth. And there’s still an actual patch to come….
@MrPeanutbutterz I had no idea about that issue, and yep, I was playing it on a PS4 Pro. Sounds like there are no issue on PS5 Pro at least, I look forward to giving it another shot!
I really missed the ability to change builds (but as you said, it's not Dark Souls). I just need to be in a different mindset to DS when I play it.
Thanks!
I'm living out my cow riding dream in Crimson Desert.
I'll also be playing co-op Toxic Commando.
Borderlands 4 in co-op with my wife, and Doom: The Dark Ages. I'm finally getting into Borderlands 4 more after my wife and I found a ton of these treasure chest enemies that each dropped loads of legendary weapons when they died. We went from having one legendary weapon each to a full inventory. It's been a lot more fun ever since.
@KingPev aaahh so that was like an extension of an extension.
@GamingGod I'm really a rally man at heart but I love GT7 even though I'm not as good.. I do have project motor racing which is quite good but so difficult and it still needs a bit of work..is pro enhanced too so I'll have to give it a try later.
@mac_da_man Brutal turns it into a Hotline Miami style game for the first few levels while you are under leveled. Very rewarding and really forced me to engage in the arena space.
It's Crimson Desert for me. Definitely not as good looking on base PS5 but it's playable in Performance mode. Hoping they patch it up and improve the visuals a tad. The game is definitely slow to begin, very KCD 2 like but I'll stick with it. Hope you all have a great weekend no matter what you're playing!
Crimson Desert for me this weekend.
Love exploring and just taje down random bandit camps and explore.
Maybe throw some Trails of Cold Steel 2 in the mix. But itd hard to put CD down tbh.
Wish everyone a great weekend!
I’m still swapping between Horizon Forbidden West and Silent Hill 2
I’m finding myself pulled more toward SH2, to my surprise, and so it’s getting more of my attention the last couple weeks. And yet, whenever I pop into Aloy’s second adventure I end up enjoying it thoroughly as well.
When I play two (or more) game side-by-side I try to make sure they are very different, tonally and in gameplay. And playing a survival horror game next to an open world action futuristic post-apocalyptic narrative game has mostly worked out. But with both protagonists being stoic super-serious characters, I feel like Aloy and James could be siblings. 😂 I might need to boot up Uncharted or something for some levity!
Ghost of Yotei here which I am enjoying. If say it's not quite as engaging as the original but I think that's mainly due to the style off story. It is however still a very good game
@Gremio108 You beautiful person!
I'll check it this evening. It has to be something that's locked to a story mission, and something that early one would make sense 🙏
Just completed the first playthrough on Resident Evil: Requiem and honestly it may have the best story of the whole franchise. I actually got the bad ending and it genuinely shocked me! Obviously replayed it to get the better ending right after though. So now next playthrough will be no healing and no blood run. Can't wait to get stuck back in. Happy Gaming All
I can’t pull myself away from Marathon—it’s just that addicting. My sleep schedule has been altered drastically, and I’m running on fumes at my day job because I’m staying up all night playing. I’ve logged roughly 40 hours into the game, and I feel as if I’m just now beginning to scratch the surface on how to play.
The biggest obstacle I had to understand was that winning a gunfight isn’t about raw aim and force like Halo—it’s about positioning. You can have top-tier weapons, but if you’re in a poor position you can be eliminated by someone using a basic kit. And while weapons matter, it’s the mods you attach to them that make them lethal. It can quickly turn average weapons into something superior.
Team play is just as critical. It’s not always beneficial to kill someone you have incapacitated. It’s often best to wait until the remaining squad attempts to perform a revive before you strike. On the flip side, being "eliminated" doesn't always mean you're out. I've had plenty of matches where I was taken down, but a teammate managed to disengage, wait for things to cool off, and come back to revive me. During those moments, spectating becomes a tool—you can call out sounds, movements, and threats from their perspective. In this game, survival comes first; looting comes second.
Speaking of survival, it’s entirely possible to not engage in any fights whatsoever. It’s okay to complete an objective and exfil. And if you want to stay alive longer then communication is essential. The majority of my victories were due to speaking to one another, using your shells’ abilities to complement each other, sticking together and using a good team composition, particularly in Hauler and Station.
I won’t lie, the game can be infuriating. It wasn’t until I got over the “gear fear” that I learned to accept the frustration and turn it into a positive. You’re never going to be completely empty in your backpack. You may have it be minimal, but never entirely useless. All it takes is one good match to change your entire future matches around. Sometimes, you have to go in with no expectations. I look at it similar to borrowing items instead of actually owning them. Or, like lottery tickets - you’re spending money hoping to win more, but you don’t necessarily expect a positive outcome. If you win, great; if you lose, oh well, you spent money knowing the risk.
Ultimately, the key is getting comfortable with discomfort. Once you do, you'll find an experience packed with depth, rich lore, engaging team combat, beautifully designed maps, and a rewarding gameplay loop that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Whether Marathon thrives or fades in the next six months, I know I'll be there for as long as it lasts.
Like a broken record, I’m continuing my Resident Evil pilgrimage. I beat Leon’s story in RE2 Remake and am now working my way through RE3 Remake. While I find Nemesis more annoying than imposing, I am enjoying it more than I expected to given all the hate on it, but I also don’t have the original for context. I’m really hoping to finish it this week so I can finally understand everyone’s admiration and love of RE4!
Starting up Death Stranding 2 now that it's on pc.
Being pretty darn broke after my move, I picked up The Thaumaturge in the current PSN sale. I'm roughly 5 hours in & am having a grand time!! I'd recommend it to any turn-based lover who also enjoys sleuthing!! There's a free demo so you can try it out if it sounds interesting to you!
Crimson Desert of course.
And I'll also start Death Stranding 2.
Have a fun weekend everyone!
Single player: Crimson Desert
Saturday night group multiplayer: Toxic Commando
Co-op: Dragonkin: The Banished
It’s been an expensive month 😂
but all these game should last me a few weeks!
I know not everyone agrees, and it has some jank, but Crimson Desert is an epic world to get lost in and I'm slowly unraveling its charms. I suspect I'll be playing this for a long while to come.
I'll break this up with some old school schumups and get my fighting stick out for a while too.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have a lot of fun!
A little bit of Puzzling Places, a little bit of Space Marine 2 and Epic Mickey.
Have a grand weekend gamers.
I decided to start my journey into Bohemia last night and it was well worth the eight year wait. The dialogue was brilliant, humorous and thoughtful. The world design (what I've seen in three hours) was so well built, and the ambience soaked right through the screen. I was nervous about the combat going in, less than an hour later I'd knocked a woodcutter out (after dancing with him for five minutes) then knocked a German out. Two hours after that I'd knocked a guard out and kitted myself out in new armor, a bow, and everything else he had on him. He then woke up in his underpants and stared speciously as I walked off in his armor. Moments like that create real memories and are a big part of why I keep coming back to gaming. I'm really looking forward to seeing and doing more, that's it, short and sweet. Happy gaming weekend Folks.
Also I met some horses. The game needs photo-mode. I made my own, it's by no means perfect, it's for memories.
@Perturbator Seriously one of my favorite games of all time and one that I still play on PS3. I wish they'd remaster it or even add it to Premium. The same for Dantes Inferno, it still plays brilliantly on PS3 but would look great on PS5.
@Yousef- The warm glow of that screen on Zelda is wholesome in ways that I don't have words for.
Working my way towards the platinum for Resident Evil 4. Still have 2 speed runs and a no healing run and then I’ll be done. Hope everyone enjoys their time gaming this weekend!
PowerWash: Real Life Edition - gotta make the most of the good weather!
Booted up blue prince for the first time this weekend and so far have failed to see what all the hype’s about.
Still early days but hope it clicks soon!
I am quite overwhelmed by good gaming news. My Pro and Portal leveled up considerately and so far the results are noticeable and very nice to have.
I found out that Space Marines 2 is a fun game that really shines on the Portal. I don't know how much I'll play of it, but never having played a game from that IP has made me very curious.
Still playing Spidey 2. I think I can feel a difference with the new PSSR, but it has been very impressive from start when I first started playing via PS Plus.
Crimson Desert on (base) PS5. Only played a few hours but am so far enjoying it. Have to say that I disagree with most of the criticisms levelled at the game thus far. Controls - apart from having to adapt to using X to run (and this is far from the first game to do this) I’ve not really had any issues. Graphics - some have called the graphics “rough” on base PS5. I’ve been playing in quality mode and think it looks great. Another criticism was that the opening hours - one person said 8! - were terrible. I don’t agree with this either - I’m having fun. I’m still really early in the game obviously so my opinions may change, but they’re my thoughts so far. Ultimately people need to play it for themselves and make up their own mind.
If I can drag myself away from CD, I’m also playing Xenoblade Chronicles X DE on Switch 2, and Absolum (PS5).
PS5- WWE 2K26, Sonic Racing Cross Worlds, Rise of the Tomb Raider(PS4)
Switch 2- Pokemon Leafgreen, Mario Tennis Fever, and Fitness Boxing 3
Series X- Street Fighter 6, Fatal Fury COTW
No way I can get to all of those but they are what I want to play.
@Yousef- Nintendo don’t appreciate you.
@datamonkey I’m touched.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds & Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered.
This weekend I am looking to finally finish up a few games that I have been playing for awhile.
Forza Horizon 2 (Series X) Just need to finish 2 more championships to get to the Horizon Finale. I am not quite sure if thats the end or what since I never played this game but it sounds like it to me and if it is I will be putting this game to bed.
Borderlands 3 (Series X) Looking to wrap up this game as well. Right now I am doing Krieg"s DLC and quite possibly my favorite but then again Kreig is my favorite BL character.
Retro Rewind (Steam) Been hearing about this game alot and it interested me quite alot. A video store sim in the 90's sign me up.
Thats all for me this weekend I hope everyone has good weekend and happy Spring to us Northern Hemispherers.
I’ve been playing a lot of Helldivers 2. The new alien exosuits are as entertaining to watch as they are fun to fight, They go down pretty quickly if you have a solid gun and focus on them but of course given the Illuminates’ love of swarm tactics you often have 99 other enemies on the battlefield to worry about at the same time.
I recently started Iron Guard Salvation, a VR tower defense game, I literally finished its predecessor and jumped right into Salvation. It’s an iterative sequel which improves on every part of its predecessor but its story but that is skippable. There are a lot more weapons and enemies, the interaction between them is complex and there is more freedom in turret placement. Very good stuff.
I am still chipping away at Demon School (a somewhat Personaesque indie rpg) mostly in the afternoons on my Portal.
Having finished my Insanity run of Resident Evil: Requiem, I felt the need for a little more horror in my life, and so I picked up a copy of one of my all time favourite games in Dead Space (Remake) for my Pro. I've played through the game so many times, that much of the horror aspect is now lost on me, though the combat can get a little intense at times.
Right now I'm on Chapter 8 on a Hard Run, where I am attempting to recall enemy types and placement so that I can attempt the Hardest difficulty in which you have only one life. Unfortunately, I died 4 times on the same part whilst trying to get into space in order to plant the beacon in Chapter 7, so I am dreading having only one life just a little! That said, I worked out what I was doing wrong, and think I can get outside unscathed next time. I have got the achievement in the original game, so I know I can do it, although I got that achievement back on the 360, and my reflexes are not what they once were.
I was a little disappointed to see that the PS3 versions of both the sequels are not available for the PS5, but am hoping that the rumours that Sony have managed to sort the issue of games from that era are true because I'd love to play them again on my Pro, and also attempt to get the ridiculously difficult Trophies for going through the two sequels on the hardest difficulty once again...
@mac_da_man
I enjoyed Star Wars Outlaws, I haven’t gotten the dlc’s for it yet though.
It’s shame most people just listen to the reviews.
Then again I seem to like a few other games that not many other people seem to like.
I only really have tomorrow to game so will probably play through the demo of Pragmata and possibly get a little bit more further on Lost Soul Aside
Starting Lost Records: Bloom and Rage thanks to your post alerting us that it is leaving Extra next month. Just wish it had more licensed music from the period like the upcoming Mixtape.
@Th3solution
Dumb question, but if I have played about two hours of SH2 can I expect the gameplay to change (for the better)?
I fell off SH2 after making it to a jukebox which sent me to a hotel or hospital and the game just felt ancient, slow and simplistic. I also fell off Alone In The Dark for the same reason.
Finally started Alan Wake 2, now that the long-awaited new PSSR has been released.
I recently beat Resident Evil Requiem which as people know was absolutely fantastic!
I've now started Cronos The New Dawn and I'm loving this too!Not many people talk about this game but already I think it's going to be a game to recommend.
I also started Elder Scrolls Online as it was free with plus.
Oh and I just bought Red Dead Redemption 2.
@Tasuki The Psycho Krieg DLC is very hard in some parts (some bosses are immense bullet-sponges but the story is really touching, from beginning to end. Seeing why Krieg is how he is, the traumas and losses he endured, and how he overcomes it, was quite surprising in a game like Borderlands. The best DLC indeed.
@DrVenture69 I know a bit of jank goes hand-in-hand with Fromsoft games, but running Sekiro on PS5 cleans it up nicely.
Enjoy if you try it again!
I have a plan to play Beyond Oasis. But i think i'll just relaxing for the rest of the weekend, watching some anime and movies.
Also, anyone in here a Sega Genesis fans or enjoyed watching video games documentary, i reccomend you guys to watch strafefox latest video about small devs / games impact for Sega Genesis. The video is well made and deserves more views 🙏

Have a great weekend everyone 🍻
CarneyVale: Showtime (Windows Phone) - I'm making good progress at this right now. It is a weird platformer for sure....
Still playing marathon and enjoying it. Need to get back to single player and I got the plat in Mindseye. At this point the game has no bugs but the ending was laughably terrible. Started the original Metal Gear Solid from the master collection. The new resolution settings make a world of difference and that game is still top 5 greatest all time.
@EfYI I might catch hate for this, but the beginning of Silent Hill 2 Remake is the best part of the game. That’s when the game is still fresh and interesting.
At about the halfway point, it becomes an absolute slog.
I thought the game was terrible.
@Divergent95 its a great game
@Shepherd_Tallon Haha no worries, let me know how you get on
Good afternoon.
This Sunday I played ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS to make my mock up photoshoot.
Here is my mock up scene of

ANIMAL'S NEXT TOP MODEL.
In this scene, I became host and head judge with Tom Nook and Isabelle as main judge, Digby as guest judge.
The special animal characters will become judge, while the villagers will become contestants.
I will refine the scene on ANTM for the next photoshoot.
@EfYI Not a dumb question at all. Unfortunately, the gameplay you’re likely referring to— running around to track down items (like a missing button on a jukebox) that are inexplicably tucked away in another area of the map sitting on some random desk or at the bottom of a bathtub… well, that kind of gameplay loop continues throughout. The combat does evolve some, with a few added weapons along the way, but it’s basically either shoot them or melee them with a stick. The enemy variety is not very vast either. I spent the first half of the game fighting the same 3-4 basic enemy types. Nevertheless, enemy placement is tricky and keeps you on your toes and they have a way of making encounters feel a little different, but it’s not a huge change if you don’t like the initial hours. As you make your way into some larger indoor buildings, there’s different settings, but the game still has the same structure and the same dated stiff dialogue, and slow methodical pace.
As @Queesh alludes to, I have to admit the game gets a bit redundant, in a way, as you progress through the middle areas. Lots of searching through a map of corridors and rooms tracking down keys and items to solve puzzles. Not unlike the older Resident Evil games, but with more items, more supplies, and what feels like a little more combat. It’s 1990’s video game logic with 2020’s coat of paint.
However I’m loving it, and much of SH2’s old-school gameplay is what makes it very refreshing when played in the context of modern gaming. We’re all up to our eyeballs with current gaming’s skill trees, complex frenetic action/perry combat, huge open worlds, movie level cinematic sequences every 30 minutes, and safe narrative direction. A lot of gamers criticize modern games for their lack of creativity, churning out the same basic types of gameplay, so a return to these linear puzzle laden survival horror games with really campy dialogue and clever tricks with level design is something to be happy about. If you’re wanting more of a quick paced shooter then I don’t think the game would get any more interesting for you. Its strength is in the art direction, mood setting, linear mostly clever puzzles, and satisfaction of gradually making your way through a mystery, albeit very slowly. 😄
Edit: Oh, and as a side note, thanks for mentioning Space Marine 2 up there also, especially with the endorsement that it works well on Portal. I’m always looking to have good games for my Portal (which incidentally I’ve played over half my time with SH2 on my Portal. It fits really well as a Portal game because its slower combat). I know almost nothing about Warhammer but I have been curious about SM2 and might have to move it up the backlog list as it sounds like you’re really enjoying it.
I am also waiting for the patchwork on Crimson Desert, and having a surprisingly good time playing Eiyuden Chronicles 100 Heroes. They really nailed the Suikoden vibe with this, and its nice to play something bright, colorful and lighthearted.
PS5 - My first GT and downloaded Pragmata demo to try if it's for me or not;
Steam Deck - little bit of Shadow warrior, but mainly Creaks and also started first Space Marine. Creaks is charming puzzle game, really enjoying time with it.
Have a great time, everyone!
Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings and a little bit of SC Chaos Theory. Plus some good movies, A Cure for Wellness right now, highly recommend.
@TheArt I just met Messmer. Didn’t like him.
@Darude84 😁 He's better than the final boss or even those wickermen.
@Othatguy That was my first and only classic Jrpg and it really was something else. I remember saying to myself that I'd do that one next bit before bed that surely it wouldn't take too long. Three hours to a save-point. It was a really interesting game and the combat system was the right kind of game-loop but I thought I'd never see the end. Colourful like you said too. It was a little tricky when the game forced me to switch out team members for specific things but I ended up liking those other characters too. After that was Unicorn Overlord and that turned out to be one of my favorite games that year.
@Th3solution
Thank you kindly - Now I know exactly what to expect should I revisit the old, foggy town of Silent Hill.
And yeah! Space Marines 2 vibe really well with the Portal in my opinion. With the new adjustments to streaming, I felt it was mostly a flawless experience with small issues only lasting seconds. The gameplay is braindead fun - you feel powerful (on my difficulty at least) and it is a linear experience.
Cheers and have a good week!
Space Marine 2, Yet another Zombie shooter demo, Resident Evil 9, and Where winds Meet...all kickass games! One for each kinda mood i feel..
@JoeNobody starfield is really bad, boring, written horribly, awful characters, the planets are just deserts with the exact same place, exact same layout of npcs, its just such a rip off.. I have ZERO hope for Elder Scrolls 6..
Last weekend, did some more runs on Hades, but it is starting to lose its grip on me (after 80 hours).
Finally started a new game, being Epic Micky: Rebrushed, loving the dark atmosphere
@freddquadros Not to worried about the difficulty I am maxed level and got some good gear. Also playing it with my son, hes playing Flakk and I am Amara. So there's that. But yeah from what I have seen so far it is touching. I have always loved his and Maya's relationship.
@GirlVersusGame As an old guy, this is a trip down memory lane. The Suikoden games were sort of a cult thing on the PS1 and 2, and this game really captures the feel of those titles. So glad I took a look at what I actually got for the PS+ sub. If you liked this, check out Dark Cloud 2, which I replayed last year, and should still be available. I think you might enjoy that one.
