Ive been trying V Rising as a single player seeing as its on a service, and I must say Im having a lot of fun. You can change lots of options to reduce grind time if needed, and I do!
Was hoping to try DK on the switch 2 at last, but my wife is hooked on 'strange horticulture' so I think my options for switch gaming are gone for a few days.

Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!

Re: Feature: Predict The Game Awards 2025 with Our 20 Question Quiz

Titntin

@RoomWithaMoose Hey I put in 80 hours and still feel like I dont get it. I stuck with it because everyone agrees its the best thing ever and I felt sure Id get it eventually. Its almost something shameful to admit given the overwhelming sentiment around the title, but I just dont get it. I was relieved when the first major character died as I didnt like him, I did nt like the music (I know, everyone else considers it fantastic) and the idea of introducing parry mechanics to turn based jap style rpgs is an abomination to me which I never got over. Oh.. and much of the environment looks samey, so without any map its easy to run round in circles. The mechanics of the skills and those systems are excellent though, discovering new builds was my one joy.

I feel some catharsis having said all that. I accept that so many others see it differently and I cant say anyones wrong of course, so please dont feel obliged to reply and tell me why Im wrong, I heard a million viewpoints that diverge from my own, and its clearly me thats out of step!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 610

@Northern_munkey Test drive is actually playable...it has an intolerable opening intro thats trully cringe. Get past that and theres plenty of annoyance and reminder that your in AA territory and some awfull UI choices. But the world map is pretty decent and mostly looks good, and the few cars I've driven are ok, the handling being arcadey rather than sim. Ive been distracted from going back, but I do intend to. If your bored and want a new game world to poke about in then its ok for that money. But its by no means essential and I can see many thinking its a pos! Hope that helps 👍

Re: After a Rocky Launch, the Entire Team Behind PS5 Racer Wreckreation Might Be Laid Off

Titntin

I bought this game to support the developers, but looks like I was one of the few. The mechanics of the game are solid, good sensation of speed and takedowns feel as fun as ever, but the courses just aren't there at the start of the game and you dont get much time to make a first impression... Im really gutted for them, I lost jobs in this way several times in 20 years as a dev and it always sucked.

Re: PS5 Sales in Japan Quadruple as New Model Launches

Titntin

@themightyant its not worth it mate, that particular person is out to paint the PS as a complete disaster with every post. You can see his comments.
"I can hardly wait for the catastrophe that's coming for Sony" was just one recent post and shows the mind set your dealing with here. No proper conversations to be had!

Re: PS5 Sales in Japan Quadruple as New Model Launches

Titntin

@PuppetMaster A lot of people value having 2tb of storage as standard? When you consider a normal ps5 has a 825GB drive with maybe 680gb left after the OS, in practice you can store almost 3X the amount of games on a pro.
It's the one thing about the pro you hardly ever hear mentioned, yet it's worth at least £100 of its price and is probably a key reason for the 33% (ish) of Japanese players who like to buy digital.
It is surprising figure though, despite my attempts to rationalise it

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 608

Titntin

Im completely stuck in the pit! Ball x Pit is adictive af.
Im also playing the wonderfully compelling Unicorn Overlord.
I will take some time for Outer Worlds 2 via GP soon, but I suspect I wont get the chance this weekend!

Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5

Titntin

This will launch at about £750, which is competitive for entry level PC's. Power will be between Series S and base PS5.
It won't be picked up instead of a PS5, itll be more enthusiast than that. but as an under TV PC with simple access to your steam library I quite fancy one.

Re: Lumines Arise's Excellent Soundtrack Releases in February, New Single Available Now

Titntin

@Amnesiac I try to buy as much music as I can through bandcamp and save my purchases till Fridays when the Artists get the lions share of any takings.
It helps that I like a lot of obscure and underground stuff you cant buy elsewhere.

I love the game and the soundtrack works perfectly in that situation, but its not something Id play if Im not playing the game.
I cant ever remember playing a game soundtrack when not playing the game. I did discover SoundGarden though via 'Rusty Chain' as the title track on the 3do version of Road Rash. Happy Days!

Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage Update 1.1.0 Adds Major Free DLC, Patch Notes Revealed

Titntin

Wont touch it with a barge pole. I'm sure it's a bit of extra fun for those already invested in the game, but for me it just means I won't play this game no matter the circumstance.
I was going to say same with EA games, but to be fair, I've tried to not play any EA games for many many years now since I worked for them and saw Evil first hand! A little over dramatic of course, but even 20 years ago there were huge issues with their approach to creativity.
Please note, I'm not here to judge anyone, people can and will do as they will, but I will remain in solidarity with anyone making similar choices.
Have a great day!

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Controversial AI Use Is Even Attracting Attention of US Politicians

Titntin

Microsoft will be riding this pony at the head of the field and doing anything they can to cut jobs and use AI.
Unfortunately, you can't undo it. It's here, and for those that have no goal except the making of money it will be exploited for all its worth while still claiming there's nothing to see here.
60% of the illustrators and designers I worked with in my Dev days are unable to get employment and are out of work and all of them state its because of AI. Difficult times for many in creative industries..

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2025?

Titntin

I tend to be more easily pleased than many. Once again, I think its a decent list, not tailored to my needs but should have something for most tastes.
I should imagine plenty of portal owners are happy with the streaming availability on premium, which is a good move even though I'll never use it personally (we have a portal, but its only used in the house).

Re: Sony Trying to Silence Concord Revival Project After Fans Brought PS5, PC Disaster Back

Titntin

If this site doesnt see the harm in allowing people to copy and use anothers IP, why does it not allow us to talk about and share information on piracy? Double standards, changed when ever they feel like it.
'Why does sony not want people to be reminded of the biggest launch disaster ever?' If you're asking that question, your already brain dead...
Perfectly proportinate action that most reasonable people will understand.

Re: 'Very Vague' Rumour Claims Sony May Scale Back PC Ports of PS5 Games

Titntin

Sony Ip helps sell their ecosystem. With competitor machines trying to become PC consoles, it would would make sense to pull back from releasing anything except multi player games from PC and reserve your Ips to help promote your own platform.
Sonys titles on Pc have not sold gangbuster numbers, and while this may have been considered almost free money in previous years, they will calculate its not worth it if it dilute the appeal of its own platform.
Thats how I see it, so I have time for this rumour no matter how vague.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 607

Titntin

Now Ive finally finished the wonderful Yotei, Im looking for something new to commit some time too.

I haven't even looked at the new Mario Kart or Donkey Kong on switch 2 yet, so maybe its time.
Id also like to play Outer Worlds 2 on series x..
But I have Miles Morales installed on the ps5...

Does anyone else have committment problems after finishing an epic title like Yotei?

Whatever titles you're playing this weekend, I hope you have fun.

Re: Poll: Does the Steam Machine Pose a Threat to PS5?

Titntin

Your never gonna give up your ps5 for one as its likely to run AAA games significantly worse than one and cost more than a pro.

But, as an ancillary machine that lets you play all those cheap AA indie titles that often just remain on steam, its has a real attraction. I have a high power big tower pc but never use it for games as its just not the same experience for me. The ability to just pick up a controller, switch on and play in no time in on the big telly is appealing, especially as reports suggest the machine is not noisy at all. Work my current gpu and all the fans turn up and it becomes a heater, wouldnt have that under the telly, so this unit appeals. It will be pricey, but Im still interested, but not at the expense of the PS5, thats going nowhere.

Re: PS5 Sales Now Top 84.2 Million Units, Well on Way to 100 Million Milestone

Titntin

@Zeke6
87 million is lifetime sales of PS3.
In order to compare how a console's sales is doing, sales need to be time aligned. @themightyant has provided data for after 5 years in an earlier post, so we can make a relevant comparison.

@Rich33 Whilst I agree with your statement, it's also true that people would not have abandoned that platform in quite the same way if there had not been a compelling and decent platform that was an alternative. Shooting themselves in the foot caused people to look elsewhere. Decent state of PS5 gaming has provided an option! That's how I see it anyway 👍

Re: PS5 Sales Now Top 84.2 Million Units, Well on Way to 100 Million Milestone

Titntin

This has been a great gen for Sony.
Despite making bad bets on live service, they have still brought successful IPs and negotiated strong titles from 3rd parties to keep the hardware selling well and on the hardware front, they've oblterated their main rival. Given the spike in sales expected next year once gta6 finally ships, its clear the PS5 will be a very successful gen for them.

Re: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Sales Surpass 3.3 Million Units, Crush Boycott Nonsense

Titntin

Delighted its sold so well and it clearly deserves it.
Those people who wish to boycot based on over exaggerated claims over some people who helped make it, must spend their entire lives boycotting almost all media consumption. Unless a company is unrepresentative, it will have the full spectrum of people helping to make it, and humans are diverse and not programmed by online hate bubbles. I try to celebrate human differences rather than hate and only show concern if an agenda is being overly pushed into a title. I can see the concern with some titles, but having finished Yotei, there is absolutely no such false agenda I would be concerned about here and it appears the hate directed towards it was misdirected.
The world is fractured and full of hate and war already without dragging that into the gaming world.
