Re: Site News: Where's Our Days Gone Remastered PS5 Review?

Titntin

Grabbed the upgrade the moment they announced it. Days gone is an absolute gem, loved it when it launched and Im sure I'll love it once I can find time to play it again.
Those who criticise the writting have obviously never hung out with bikers before, the scripts on point and the overall story, while not inventive, is good enough to serve the gameplays needs and still sticks in my head to this day.

Re: Oblivion Remastered: Everything New and All Changes Compared to the Original Oblivion

Titntin

@themightyant You must be joking right? Same calibre as a Bluepoint game? Which Bluepoint game has ever dropped frames to sub 20fps? Or had the number of bugs this game has.
You clearly havent played it beyond pottering around in the opening dungeon where it can maintain frame rate.

I like it, I accept the jank as unlike Bluepoint (who maticulously program every line of code in their remasters) its the same underlying 20 year old code it always was with a new graphics wrapper, many of the same bugs in the original are all here, and its introduced several new ones.

The suggestion this is on a level with a bluepoint remaster is quite cearly based on ignorance of the facts.
Meantime I'll play and enjoy it further once they improve frame rates, but I cant pretend its a remake rather than a remaster, and the studios themselves have made it quite clear its not a remake as it runs on the very same game code it always did.

Re: Hands On: Oblivion Remastered Is Still Oblivion in All Its Glory, Crap Frame Rate Aside

Titntin

Nice to hear your views and I'm glad you are enjoying it.
Personally I don't think the 3rd person camera works as well as a game that had been designed for it, but its useable in some scenarios. I'm also not completely convinced by combat, which is clearly better than the original , but falls far short of modern standards (having recently played Avowed its quite clear that Oblivion is very old and feels it)

However - the graphical updates are a joy to see and clearly the stand out update here. For someone who remembers playing this 20 years ago, its amazing to see what it looks like now.
I really don't think they should have released it until they had it performant though, it should not be chugging and sputtering like this, that's a poor show (Im using a pro).
I bought it of course - it will be wonderful to go through this game again, but I think I'll wait before I play it through further in the hope they fix its performance! I hope people enjoy it - especially new comers to this game

Re: Forza Horizon 5 (PS5) - Xbox Had the Best Open World Racer All This Time

Titntin

@IOI
Different from what? Is the 8/10 from Push Square different from the 8/10 from Pure Xbox for some reason?
https://www.purexbox.com/reviews/xbox-series-x/forza-horizon-5
Or have you got your tin foil hat on pretending there's some kind of Xbox tax still?

I often have issues with the reviews here at Push and they are not my favourite articles to read, but an 8/10 when your very own Xbox site gave the same is no evidence of Bias?

They called everything that's wrong with this game - cluttered maps that make it hard to see events, no sense of progression at all and truly awful characters scripts and acting. It's a testament to the fun of the racing that it scores 8/10.

I love Forza Horizon, but like many, I believe it's FH4 that's a 9 or 9.5 score worthy. Doesn't mean FH5 isn't a great game though and I'd still recommend this to any PS only gamers who haven't had a chance to play the series before.... I pre ordered it the day it was announced despite having it on my series X and also on Steam.

Re: Forza Horizon 5 (PS5) - Xbox Had the Best Open World Racer All This Time

Titntin

I'm delighted to see that foliage density and pop in in performance mode are now resolved for the pro. I had found them annoying when I first played this on series X to the point where I'd often play it on PC instead (and I hardly ever play on PC!)
Very happy to jump back into this - its a great game, even if I prefer FH4, and I now get to play it without the pop in issues - happy days.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 577

Titntin

Blue Prince. Im 38 hours in and deep, lots of layers. Edit: it says 41 hours on the dash, but its actually only 26 hours if you look at profile stats. I wish they'd fix that 🙄
South of Midnight, chapter 10. Just had a memorable boss fight, but in general, the fighting is not fun. The vision and art direction though is sublime and driving me to completion!

Once I can clear the above, Im looking forward to getting back to AC Shadows, but Ive got Days Gone Remaster, Epedition 33 and Forza 5 on ps as preorders all ready to distract me shortly. Oblivion as well? Its all too much 🤣

Whatever you are playing, I hope you have a great weekend....

Re: 'You'll See the Difference,' Says Bend Studio of Days Gone PS5's Improvements

Titntin

I really loved this game.
I'm not naturally talented at shooters, and I'm an old guy now with old guy reactions, but I worked through that to complete this game originally.
For a £10 upgrade charge, I'll be delighted to wind the clock back and revisit a game I enjoyed so much. I'm looking forward to it's release and couldn't care less about the whingers.

Re: PS5 Pro Version of Assassin's Creed Shadows Rivals Ultra High-End PCs, Says Ubisoft

Titntin

Absolutely great update. Vegetation shimmer whilst moving is almost entirely gone with pssr, and I had been bothered noticing it.
Look forward to the appearance of rt reflection in balanced mode one it arrives.
I can't quite replicate the feeling of my pc as I can't get the pro to have shader stutter, take as long to boot, or ramp up all it's fans once it's asked to work 😂

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for April 2025?

Titntin

Yeah , I'm happy enough as usual.
I've had Blue Prince get into my blood and haven't played anything else yet - I do not mind losing runs to rng and having goes with little progress. I had those issues with Elden Ring and still consider that an all timer! 😄
Glad to see the second lost records installment too, it's time for me to try that game.
I played Hogwarts to death back when it was new, but it's a great game to have on the service for those that haven't had the pleasure.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 576

Titntin

Blue Prince. It gets in your head in a way that's difficult to explain and it's been commanding my time.
Once I can drop that for a second, I'm loving South of Midnight and also AC Shadows. Neither are perfect, but I'm loving them both.

Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!

Re: New Dragon's Dogma 2 Patch Is Just Trolling Us at This Point

Titntin

It's still on my backlog, despite having bought it. I tried it for a few hours and the interface and way it starts felt like a game from two decades ago.... I had almost zero desire to go back. BUT I know many people I trust who advise there's a brilliant world to enjoy so I'll try and work through that opening and dreadful scene setting and script and actually reach the game proper next time, so I can understand and experience the joy 😄
It's difficult to give games the time to grab you sometimes, there are so many great games waiting to be played, but I'll be back to look at this...

Re: Mini Review: Blue Prince (PS5) - A Deceptively Deep Puzzler That Delights and Confounds

Titntin

@Herculean It's no problem mate. Though I wasn't in an attack mode or anything and kept the original comment civil, I was clearly annoyed and such a post will likely attract further comments. I will try and excuse myself by remembering I'd been subject to nausea and vertigo for three days and I perhaps shouldn't post while I'm not well!
I genuinely do find the reviews here to be the weakest element of this sites attractions though, but as many have pointed out, they are entitled to their views! Have a good one👍

Re: Mini Review: Blue Prince (PS5) - A Deceptively Deep Puzzler That Delights and Confounds

Titntin

@Herculean It doesn't mean I'm not polite or complimentary when I do enjoy a review. I do my best to support this site with more complimentary comments whenever I can, in addition to paying a yearly voluntary subscription.
I'm flattered you were bothered to sift through my previous comments, where you would no doubt have seen I do my best to engage in a positive way in the vast majority of my posts here.
Have a great day.

Re: Mini Review: Blue Prince (PS5) - A Deceptively Deep Puzzler That Delights and Confounds

Titntin

@themightyant Which is exactly what I said in my post, look at other reviews for a balanced view. That seemed a fairly balanced way to suggest people might wish to seek other opinions.
It's my personal opinion that the reviews on push are rarely up to standard, but that doesn't stop me still paying my subs for this site, as I value their news and other articles, I just dismay at the majority of their reviews. If I want a more considered review from one of these sites I read PJs reviews on pure, which I usually resonate with and are rarely an outlier when compared with general consensus. I have several other reviewers who's opinions I value, so I've no need to look anywhere.
That's my personal opinion and I'm just as allowed to express it as someone is to post a review that seems so out of step with their peers, unless we are stifling dissent on the site, by suggesting I can't suggest people look at other reviews?

Either way, I generally like thoughtful games and the some of the opinions I've read about how unforgettable and unique this game is give me hope that I'll enjoy it too.

Re: Mini Review: Blue Prince (PS5) - A Deceptively Deep Puzzler That Delights and Confounds

Titntin

This is a perfect example of why I never take notice of reviews here at push. Everything else here is great, but they are so consistently off the mark compared with their peers and my own views, that they clearly have a problem. This is the highest rated game released this year on aggregate and this review is the low outrider and clearly way off the mark.
The reviews from others range from good to exceptional , so Id suggest reading elsewhere if you want a more balanced opinion that's likely to resonate with most people's experiences.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Patch 1.0.2 Incoming, Improves Horses, Item Selling, PS5 Pro's Graphics

Titntin

Pssr, thank god. The image is stable if you are not moving, but you do get some pixel crawl with camera movement, which I find distracting. Pssr is usually much better in motion, and even if you get a little more instability on a still image I'd take that in a heartbeat.
I do wish they gave you tools to adjust screen brightness properly, ATM you have to guess exposure and hope for the best 😀

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 575

Titntin

I've finally finished Avowed and thoroughly enjoyed it!
I've been playing ' prince of Persia the lost crown' today and it's really excellent, well crafted with lots of options to tune it to your abilities. So far it's fantastic.
I'm downloading Assassin's Creed Shadows now that I've finished Avowed as my new virtual world to get lost in 😄

Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!

Re: Feature: PS5's Not Perfect, But Here Are 5 Ways It's More Consumer Friendly Than Switch 2

Titntin

@OldGamer999 'At least with Mario kart world and Donkey Kong Bananza
Nintendo believe in generations'

Are you for real? This Mario Kart number 9 and I've lost count of how many DK in another platformer this is.
I expect them to both be good games, but they are just another iterative n of what they always serve up.....
Where's the new Nintendo software showing the capabilities of its new generation? Nowhere... Unless you count game chat hidden behind a sub.

Re: The Weapon Durability Debate Is Back with PS5 Action RPG Blades of Fire

Titntin

If it has weapon durability I simply won't play it. Can't stand such a mechanic.
I've never played a game and thought 'it would be better if my weapon broke or got worse'. It's simply not a mechanic that's enjoyable and adds any fun to proceedings. Definitely not a game I'll bother with under any circumstances, only so much time, I'll play games I find fun.😀
