Sometimes, your wildest dreams really can come true; just ask streamer Gothalion, who just had a near-two-year-old request become reality.

The creator posted on X in September 2024 about a new feature he wanted to see in No Man's Sky, and developer Hello Games made it real in the game's most recent update.

"The only thing missing from [No Man's Sky] is the Pokemon update," Gothalion wrote in his post. "Let me catch, train and battle creatures I find. Put an arena in the anomaly. You can do it, Sean."

Well, it turns out Sean Murray and his team could in fact do it, because that's exactly what the game's new Xeno Arena update is all about.

In a great full-circle moment, Murray responds to Gothalion's post with a simple statement — "We did it."

It's obviously unknown whether that post from 2024 inspired anyone within Hello Games to pursue the Pokémon-like update or if it was in the works anyway, but still, it's fun to see stuff like this come to pass.

The update is available now, free for all players, and you can read more about it here.
