Back to TW3 again, game is timeless. The current gen upgrade is just too impressive. And when playing it, you feel like playing CP2077, so it's that too. Then more of Henry's never ending adventures in KCD2.
@KawakiisaFraud Yep it's quite shocking the number of people still on PS4, now making their chances of upgrading even worse. And you want to release PS6 in 2027 at what price...they won't even bother, they would just continue playing GTAO on their PS4s.
I don't think Marathon's the problem. Maybe MP might be declining judging by a whole Fortnite complaining about decline since 2025. There's just too many out there including FreeToPlay fighting for attention. People are stuck on their usual CoD, GTAO, Fortnite, it's hard to convince them to try something new. I bought PS Plus and I'm hardly playing online MP.
I'm in that age group, tried the demo, felt good but the combat ruined it for me. Just go back to turn-based, that's the FF I know. Felt like I should rather be playing Metaphor - which I think people would appreciate years to come.
@MrPeanutbutterz @DrVenture69 Sekiro is still like other FS games albeit a different leveling up system. Like the others too, you have to take notes of item descriptions and npc dialogues which could help you in battle. Could've played it at 60fps on PS5 but opted to still play on PS4, beat it and got the Shura ending.
@KingPev Really, are you talking about an extension with multiple sockets, is that what your base PS5 uses with no issues cause I've been using consoles through extensions since forever.
Bought PS Plus to try MP cause it's been a long time, but I'm quickly reminded why I'm not really a fan. Long wait times in lobbies waiting for others to join or press fackn Ready. GTAO is still fun but still takes too much time to join a session. MHWilds MP, a lot of players just hacking at the monster didn't even make it notice I was there, felt like solo is where the challenge is at. Same with EAWRC, people were just not pressing Ready, just had to quit the game. Aside that I'll just go back to SP and play KCD2, ER and MHWilds offline.
@IOI Well you're lucky enough to easily justify $70 to "try" something and have your own opinion, most don't, and rely on these metrics. 78 isn't a bad score for a game nobody looked forward to, again, the keyword here is "hype" and Crimson Desert had so much of it. Nothing won't stop your enjoyment though so have fun.
@IOI "TW3 had a broken Act 3, CP2077 was blatantly unfinished, BoTW and TOTK infamously ran at 20 FPS in some areas, Baldurβs Gate 3..."
Despite all that they all still released to a 90+ on MC, CP2077 was at least 87. Crimson Desert was really hyped and could've sold more than 2M if it was critically acclaimed. With that much hype 78 is a disappointment, let's not pretend. Me along with most other people had their wallets at the ready but with such a reception, most people went "wait for a sale then" or avoiding it all together because there's no shortage of better games out there.
Console discourse heading into PC techy techy jargon territory. PSSR, FSR, DLSS, RT, FPS, we need to sit down and study, toggling settings instead of actually playing the games π. We used just say "Oh it's MUORE POWERFUL" and move on.
People don't get it. The hype around this game makes 77 a disappointment. Almost like RDR2 releasing to a 77, that would be a major catastrophic disappointment. If it had no hype, 77 would definitely be good, as simple as that.
Always looked like your bog standard AC to me. After watching several videos, my hype went down, I felt AC Shadows' gameplay vids impressed me more and I haven't even bought that.
79 on MC, I wasn't really sold looking at all those gameplay videos. Looked like AC Valhalls to me. And when you're a PC-first dev like how CDPR used to be till they learnt their lesson, I'm not too keen on your games. Plus no console review copies for various outlets tsk.
@nomither6 Exactly, it looks like some usual AC graphics, don't know how people think this can't run, when Horizon has flying mounts and all that fidelity.
I'm more concerned about the actual game, if it's great or not.
When a company offers all that nice stuff and you feel like it's gonna come at a cost...like y'all are gonna be crunching a lot ππ’. Anyway I still don't get the coffee hype, great article though.
@evan23 I think the root cause of the hate was MS making it exclusive when we know it's supposed to be multiplat, something I believe Bethesda didn't like either, no wonder they're now releasing everything back on PS as it should be.
@GirlVersusGame I don't think people go out their way and look for spoilers, no can't agree. I remember the days before or after RDR2/TLOU2 released there was "Arthur dies, Joel dies" comments everywhere under completely unrelated articles on game sites, Facebook posts, everywhere, especially spoiled by physical owners who got them early from some corner store or wherever.
People can be so entitled. If a dev wants to take measures to prevent spoilers, don't see the big deal. People suggesting they delay the physical instead wow that's even worse than a simple update to play on release day.
MH Wilds, World/Iceborne, Rise/Sunbreak, just wonderful how you can play MH for 1000hrs and not even craft half of what the games have to offer. Then KCD2 - still savouring Henry's adventures. Plus the game that won't ever get old - Elden Ring, there's still that element of discovery because you can't remember where you picked what even after several playthroughs.
PSVR along with Move and all those other gimmicks never interested me, heck we barely use the motion controls on controllers. Can't be looking like a clown throwing hands around imaginary things with family in the house.
I'm more concerned about the game being good or not. Waiting for reviews. 60fps isn't a must for me, I'm playing ER on quality mode with RT, dropping to negative 5fps in busy scenes, I care less.
60fps is nice but I kinda like RT at 30fps. Glad I'm not that sensitive to fps differences. Same way he thinks RT is overrated you could say same about FPS, that's why devs never prioritised it.
Going to be a lot of MH Wilds for me this weekend. Didn't realise there are a lot wonderfully crafted realistic diverse monsters in the end game. That's a lot of content more than World for the base game. Oh and those animations, those animations...Capcom's RE engine graphics is just crazy! Plus some KCD2 also, Henry's adventures is still not done because he's busy with interesting side quests.
PS5 Pro didn't even push Xbox to release a console like the One X - looking like MS is respecting traditional console release timelines and not releasing anything in-between. You could say that's the reason for the interest in the next Xbox if there's even any, building up anticipation because they haven't had any Pro model since 2020. Dunno why this should push PS to release 6 when they released an in-between Pro less than 2 years.
Digital sales are at an all time high. I don't think people are just gonna ditch their vast library of games and switch to Xbox. I don't know if people realise how crucial Backwards Compatibility is.
Oh yeah definitely, a friend has it, we're all past 35, I bought Clair Obscur at launch price, he didn't, everyone and where their money goes in a hurry. I would like to play, i can afford it but too many bills to pay that aren't waiting, plus I love open worlds and what with Crimson Desert around the corner...This can wait whilst the price steadily goes down.
This constant bashing of Bethesda but then going on to still enjoy their games is really really getting old. And then when the word Fallout is mentioned, New Vegas has to be nearby- no wonder Miyazaki isn't letting anyone touch BB - yet the devs that made it have Outer Worlds and Avowed out and none of these games have been slightly as successful as Bethesda's tsk.
PC is now competition, all over the Internet it's now PS5 vs PC memes, no longer Xbox. And Steam Machines and the next Xbox trying to access PS games through PC isn't really amusing for PS.
Tried Marathon, art style is cool, like it when devs try different looks, played with some 2 others, came out top in the end, reminded me of my CoDMW&MW2 days, where I was always at least top 3 or 5 every session buuuttt it's back to my SPs. KCD1/2, MHWilds, downloaded HZD again, I just want to platinum it being at 80% trophies since forever.
