Re: 'The Fans' Voices Gave Us Power': Monster Hunter Wilds Dev Admits to Difficulties After Awards Show Win

TheArt

Wilds is top 3 for me this year maybe because I started playing in October and looks to be filled with content. Yeah a bit easy but I tried Miztsune and looks hard, I think they can EASILY tweak it to be hard but maybe they wanted it more accessible to attract new players. They heard Elden Ring is the most accessible (when it's actually not that easy) so why not, let's make Wilds the easiest MH 😁. Still, I enjoy it a lot and believe it's one of the finest games ever made in the way animations, graphics and monsters. I don't think any other game does monsters lifelike like MH.

Re: PS5's Biggest Game Fortnite Accused of Using AI Art

TheArt

This thing right now is getting confusing. Where do we draw the line...should we have been protesting in the past when MS Office took over typewriters, where you could select font styles with all of kinds of editing tools. Or when artists were/are using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop tools. If AI is also a tool then...the only thing that annoys me is fake AI photos and videos on social media. But in a video game, a virtual world...feels like there's no stopping it, devs are going to use it. Heck AI has already been a part of video games more than any other media since forever, how enemies, npcs behave.

Re: Going Platinum #1: Rocket League

TheArt

My first platinum was Infamous on PS3. I have 12 now, could've been more as I've left a lot of games at 80% and 90%, will get back to them when I have the time.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 609

TheArt

Was just investigating what happened to an ambushed merchant who had an item I was looking for. Found a mill nearby, thought I'd ask the inhabitants a few questions instead they greeted me with weapons, had to make a run for it and come back in the night to sneak. In a barn, found some tortured people lying motionless, still sneaking, came across hostages tied in an attic who said they were the actual owners of the mill and that it had been overtaken by bandits. The Miller asked me to take care of the bandits and come for a reward, at the same time I had to find that item that got me there in the first place. These chain of events, one thing leading to another in a simple side quest is what makes KCD2 so great. Might sound simple but words can't really describe, you need to be in Henry's shoes and feel the high immersion. And there are more like this. I'll be playing the hard to put down MH Wilds also, some Skyrim and whatever else I feel like.

Re: Video: All the PS5 Games We Think Are 10/10

TheArt

I feel Clairrr is a 9, KCD2 is definitely 10. What we did in Semine alone....with Von Bergow's men...no game has made me feel this bad since TLOU2, story wise, and that was even on the side not the main plot, it's crazy. With Clairrr it got to a point I kinda lost interest in all that family drama.

Re: Looks Like PS5 Is Going to Clean Up This Black Friday

TheArt

@themightyant Lol you really think GTA6 would be out and people would have the patience to wait a couple of years again for a nextgen version...folk can't even handle fomo for less popular games...when they don't even know if they can afford a PS6 when they haven't even got a PS5. They'll get the PS5 version first and double dip later if they have to.

Re: Suddenly the PS5 Pro Doesn't Look That Expensive Anymore

TheArt

@Martsmall Yep I had a feeling MS would know in advance because they're business from forever is centered round these things. They knew, they just chose to ignore because they are happy to increase prices. So kudos to PS but unless they also pull a fast one and say what they stockpiled has ran out and they also need an excuse to increase prices yet again.

Re: Valve Won't Subsidise Steam Machine, Expected to Be Pricier Than More Powerful PS5

TheArt

Don't even who this machine is for...

@Nakatomi_Uk "For people who
1) Have an old PC and can't afford to build a new one"

If they can't afford to build a new one what shows they can afford this which is going to priced at a PC equivalent....

"
2) Have been curious to join the steam ecosystem but don't want the hassle of windows issues on top of pc gaming."

That's an expensive kit for anyone to be curious about when it's weaker than their console and priced higher why would they even be curious.

This thing just needs to be cheap and that's it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 608

TheArt

Still on KCD2, don't know when I'm going to complete this game but I'm sure taking my sweet time, cause this game is going to be talked about for years. Took a carriage back to Kuttenberg and a passenger said "hey you, you're finally awake," nice nod to Skyrim. Speaking of i just tried to download the free Skyrim PS5 upgrade and to my surprise it's 15GB...😄 , so why not I started a new game for the 20th time, game still looks good. Then it's more MHWilds which I beat the main easy campaign and the true game has now actually started, the game's so good! Also went back to Clairrr Obscurrr to roam the Continent a bit, talk about art direction! Plus some MetroExodus, CP2077 and whichever else.

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5

TheArt

@nomither6 😂 With consoles being cross-gen these days, how about I pretend they are PCs and upgrade to the next console when I feel like, isn't it the same...I mean that's why this Steam Machine is being released to start with. It's easy for Devs to optimise for a fixed system rather than a wide range of different specs. Plus Rockstar is never releasing on PC first. 😆

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5

TheArt

@EfYI Yeah I read that also - that this machine which is less powerful than a PS5 is more powerful than 70% of PCs using Steam. The so called Master Race have been exposed, they hide behind the "my PC is more powerful than a console" when really they might still be running hardware equivalent to a PS3.

Re: Free Mafia PS5 Update Adds Open World Mode, Gear, and Challenges Tomorrow

TheArt

@BecauseBecause
KCD2 - $40M
E33 - Less than $30M
Mafia Old Country - between $50M to $80M

Of course it'd cost more if they want to go a level close to GTA but then again KCD2 has one of the most immersive open worlds in video game history with a lot of content. E33 with that budget still managed a semi open world and broke a nominations record.

Re: Free Mafia PS5 Update Adds Open World Mode, Gear, and Challenges Tomorrow

TheArt

@StitchJones And after all the linear linear reinvention noise they couldn't even get to the likes of Uncharted/TLOU rating or even a TGA nomination. They only managed 73 on MC, what's the difference between this and Mafia 3's 68. I still play the Trilogy, expected them to keep improving on their open world instead they took this turn. No wonder they couldn't even name it Mafia 4, plus they priced it low, they weren't sure about the decision and were just testing the waters.

Re: Free Mafia PS5 Update Adds Open World Mode, Gear, and Challenges Tomorrow

TheArt

@BecauseBecause No, didn't bother, they just annoyed me with the whole linear thing. That free roam thing in the remake feels quite aimless, you don't see the point - of those phone booth missions. Could've integrated it in the main campaign as side missions. They're the only ones eager to tell a serious story so no side missions to distract, when Geralt has been playing Gwent instead of saving Ciri but still managed to win goty. Arthur leaves Micah to rot in jail while busy hunting and crafting at the trapper but still managed to be the 4th highest selling game ever. Yeah all these open worlds have no urgent story to tell according to Hangar13.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 607

TheArt

MH Wilds' animations is just crazy, can't stop repeating this. After playing exclusively for 40hrs, I can now pause a bit and continue the immersively superb KCD2, the lovely CP2077 - which we forget is a taste of GTA6. Might even go back to MHW Iceborne, still haven't met a lot of monsters.

Re: PS5 Is the Second Fastest Selling PlayStation Ever in the US, Despite Price Hikes and Production Issues

TheArt

People don't see it but I think Backwards Compatibility plays a huge part too. With digital sales rising you don't expect me to abandon all my PS4 games have accrued over the years and buy an Xbox. It's the same PS4 owners buying PS5s. Plus what @Max_the_German said too, there really hasn't been any competition since Xbox 360, and that's why they're not even reducing the price after almost 5 years.
