One of the most ambitious PS5 game set to launch this year, Crimson Desert developer Pearl Abyss has started a deep dive gameplay series that attempts to properly explain the core mechanics and features of the RPG. The first episode is available to watch now above.

There will be three parts to the overview series, with the first taking up 15 minutes and focusing on the protagonist Kliff and the overall open world experience.

In terms of the map, it's split into five main regions: Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, Delesyia and the Crimson Desert. In each zone will be "faction-driven quests, large-scale battles, fortress sieges and smaller, character-focused missions".

There'll also be reason for general exploration, as artefacts, skills, and equipment form rewards. There'll more than likely be collectibles, side quests, activities, and vendors to find off the beaten path too.

The main story seems to focus on Kliff, but there'll be another two playable characters alongside him. You must reunite the Greymanes and take back their homeland, which develops into a worldwide crisis. "A central threat emerges from the Abyss, a mysterious realm whose growing imbalance sends fragments crashing into Pywel."

There'll be another two deep dive videos for Crimson Desert released in the coming weeks, with the PS5 title locked in for a 19th March 2026 launch. Are you clearer on what Crimson Desert is exactly after this video? Let us know in the comments below.
