@Bamila Lol if you were waiting for games to be in their absolute best state, you'd be playing The Witcher 3 in 2025 or better still wait for a remake on PS7. ๐
Horizon is just superb. Graphics, gameplay, everything. Analyzing a machine, tagging particular parts you want, shooting then off with a high tear arrow or shooting an elemental arrow to a matching element to trigger a chain reaction...what unique and satisfying combat. Fighting a Thunderjaw or Stormbird is always memorable.
@Oram77 the dust has settled, and y'all are really appreciating this gem of a series now eh.
Lol I see the novelty has worn off for some people but let's try to remember the first time we played it. Honestly it's the most stylish turn based game right now especially during battle, not even Metaphor comes close. Such memorable characters with all kinds of realistic hairstyles and interesting wardrobe. Great music. I'm a bit on a break, still exploring The Continent making sure I'm so powerful for the final battle, no rush.
Horizon Forbidden West was very varied compared to Zero Dawn, we ร ll forgot and slept on it because Elden Ring. The approach to getting Cauldron overrides was different for each, and then when you got them some where corrupted. You have deserts, marshlands, snowy mountains, underwater, the skies and others. Ghost of Yotei would have go all out because to me Horizon has the title for best PS Studios' open world.
Deep in the jungle hunting for Stalker Stealth Generators, so quiet I can only hear birds chirping, waiting patiently to ironically ambush my targets. Like a scene from the Predator, and that's the beauty of a series that keeps releasing alongside other equally monumental games it gets somewhat overshadowed. Horizon Forbidden West. Got the Burning Shores DLC, so it's mainly that.
I think I'm liking it more on 2nd run. Pretty sure at the time I couldn't help but to compare everything to RDR2 - which I was still heavily playing - and probably was still enjoying TLOU2 which came out in June 2020. After 5 years, I'm just appreciating GoT for what it is. Sometimes playing certain games at the wrong time can give you the wrong impression.
@Oram77 I heard MGS4 had the longest of cutscenes, I beat the game and don't really remember but yeah I remember Kojima's cutscenes being very long. I kinda liked his cutscenes even more than his gameplay, Snake's animations were janky.
@Nepp67 Which line? There's no mini map even let alone a line showing. Unless you're talking the Pause Map which I don't think I've seen any line on, it's just the small whirlwind showing on your target.
Doing a 2nd run of GoT, liking it better this time but damn the navigation is horrible. Hoping they drop the wind thing in Yotei because it got me going off the beaten path, roaming on difficult terrain ending up in someone's room. Aside, I love the unique art style, they don't need to change it for Yotei and of course the great engaging combat. I'm glad there's a camp system in Yotei too because what's an open world without some form of camp, inn or house...
Exploring in Clair Obscur making sure I'm strong for the final battle, what an artistic game. Trying to finally beat my 2nd run of HFW, game is so gorgeous. Also still continuing my first run of another gorgeous one - GoWR. Some EAWRC. Reinstalled GoT, lovely game but realized my issues with it were navigation, no camp or rest mechanic in an open world which I always find highly immersion breaking. I see it's been done in Yotei, so I might just look forward to it.
This is PushSquare's 2025 GOTY in advance ๐คฃbefore they've even played it , they ain't got no choice ๐คฃ, they're obligated. Like Spiderman 2 over BG3 in 2023, oh my good ol' Push๐ฆ. ๐
@Uromastryx Yep. With all the money they claim to have you'd think they'd take the losses and sell the console way cheaper than the PS5, kinda like the 360 era.
I'll have to redownload GoT and see if I'll like it better, haven't even bothered with Iki Island - started a bit after beating the main game. Something about the gameplay wasn't really clicking, I think the navigation is atrocious and mainly ruined it for me. I kept ending up at dead ends, hilltops, cliffs following that goddamn wind.
@PegasusActual93 But Horizon Forbidden West has a lot going on and still runs smooth. They were just in a hurry to release MH Wilds, as a fan I've been disappointed at the reception it received so much so I'm not eagre to get it at a high price.
Almost at the end but it's more of the gameplay, art direction, hairstyles and swag of the characters for me, the story's great, I think it's up there with the TLOU1&2 and RDR1&2 as the most moving stories.
72 hrs in and Clair Obscur still got me wowing. It's simply the most stylish turn-based rpg currently. Taking it slow don't want it to end quickly. It's back Sekiro 29.99, I just need to beat this game, the simplicity and hidden secrets in texts that helps in beating enemies makes it a unique masterpiece just like all of From's games.
@kyleforrester87 Don't mind me, I haven't finished it either ๐ just remembered you raving on about that game.
@Northern_Munkey Got to the final boss and my save corrupted. Started over and got to him 2nd time and some other games got my attention. So yeah I've beaten that gorilla 4 times, he appears twice per playthrough. I'll definitely beat that game one day.
Demo looked good but the always online and my fluctuating wireless made the game lag, my character kept moonwalking, was unplayable for me. Couldn't even start the game sometimes because Login was mandatory. Can't believe they can be so inconsiderate, at least THINK that there people out there who just want to play SP.
@kyleforrester87 You still haven't finished Sekiro too.
Always funny to me when people in countries like the US or UK want to talk about sexual immorality. When most of the craziest sex acts I ever heard usually starts from there, like an OF model f***ing 500 dudes in a day but noooo let's be outraged about some comments from a guy in South Korea.
After 320hrs, beat BG3, such a fantastic game through and through. I should be beating Metaphor soon - probably today - since I found the silly reason why I was stuck on the final battle, it's made it easier. Then it'll be full concentration on the unique and ever brilliant Clairrr Obscurrr. Plus some legendary ER on the side with ray tracing and EA WRC.
Turn-based is definitely one of the issues, it's part of FF's identity. As a kid, I never knew what combat system it was till FFX introduced me. I think one other major problem is the characters kind of look the same since forever, makes everything look like it hasn't evolved.
Clair Obscur is so unique and special. YT videos in a hurry to beat the game playing it awkwardly almost made me pass on this gem. Plus you'd think it's some short RPG, I'm finding pretty long with my completionist play style. And it's made me love Metaphor all over again. Hopefully I'll get KCD2 down the line cause I know I'll love it.
Just beat BG3 and jumped back to Metaphor, had a feeling there was going to be some news about it. The sales is quite low but could definitely be down to Atlus' infamous rereleases of the same games and charging full price, so some people might be waiting for some Royal Edition. Anyway gone back to it trying to beat the final battle, loaded an earlier save and I think I know why I'm stuck, skipped the damn crystals . Yea Metaphor can be all so overwhelming and push you to bounce off for a while but playing this along with Clair Obscur, they're all up there as the best turn based games of recent times, people should give it a chance.
Thought those mimes were okay till I saw one hopping towards me with hair like Chucky doll, had to flee and just went playing parkour at a beach - Clairrr Obscurrr. After 290hrs still in Act 3, BG3 is still NEVER getting old or overstaying its welcome, what a game.
ClaiRR ObscuRR! I'll definitely add KCD2 when I get around to playing it but ClaiR is just so lovely. Can't believe YouTubers with their speed runs almost made me pass on it because they play games so fast in a hurry to be the first to upload, that the games end up looking dumb.
I don't see how John could be super excited about a game mainly about Arthur. Unless...RDR1 is incorporated into RDR2 with that empty New Austin map with Mexico added like we always wanted, then we can start talking.
I mean this has always been CDPR's problem, creating ambitious projects on high-end PCs only they can afford and later try to make it work on other PCs and consoles, I've always been saying this. Like R* does, it should be console first!
Still Clairrrr Obscurrrrr skrrrrrr. The game is soooo good. Art so good. Music soo good. Gameplay sooo good. Those little gestrals always make me laugh with their weird language. Everything is brilliant. Must play! I'll try to divert a bit of attention to continue the almighty BG3 also.
Oooh Miyazakiiiii! There's a new Art Direction challenger in town, oh Metaphoorr!! There's a new Sound challenger in town. Best video games of all time - there's a new member now --- claiRRR obscuRRR! Don't remember the last time a game made me dance in my seat in the middle of battle. What incredible art, gameplay, sound, everything. Quality wise this is AAA with an AA budget. Hats off to Sandfall, respect!
If your game's good it's good. Don't know why some devs - like the Days Gone dev - feel paranoid like everyone is against them, out to trash their game. I mean let your game speak for itself.
