Boy has today been jam-packed with PlayStation news! Sony has now confirmed it will host a State of Play livestream this coming Thursday, containing "new updates and deep dives for 10 games coming to PS4 and PS5, including new game announcements and updates on some of the third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase". The quote may be referring to the likes of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Little Devil Inside, and Stray on the indie side, while big-budget third-party titles could include Resident Evil Village, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Deathloop.
The showcase will be roughly 30 minutes in length and focus purely on games. As Sid Shuman puts it, there won't be any "PlayStation hardware or business-focused updates in this show". He must be referring to today's confirmation that a new PlayStation VR headset is in the works. The State of Play livestream will begin at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT. What do you want to see? For me personally it was pathetic as I play Switch for big AAA Nintendo in house studio games.
Like BOTW, Mario Kart, Mario Ods etc.
Their in house studios have produced nothing since those games. Remember most releases since Pokeman, Yoshi etc are by 2nd party studios.

Sony's had one hell of a day. And here I thought this week was going to be boring for game news.
Predictions: Ratchet and Clank, Kena, Oddworld, RE Village, and/or Deathloop. I have a sneaking suspicion next-gen GTA V will be there too. Also, I don't think there will be any new first-party announcements from PlayStation themselves.

I'm interested at whatever they'll show. If there's one thing I really want to see more of though, is more PSVR stuff. Was worried about PSVR's future consider Sony was a bit silent on the platform, so I'm glad they're not giving up on it yet. From what I have read, there's a possible VR horizon spinoff in the works, so let's hope that comes into reality.
Hopefully those people who've bought PS5s for double price from scalpers will feel justification for their spend after the State of Play.

I want to get excited but theyve never been particularly interesting. The only announced game i really want to see more of is ffxvi but it's not happening

Hopefully some release dates and gameplay videos of some announced games. However, it would be great if a new big game would be announced too like a new Uncharted that comes along with the movie, Spider-man 2. Even better, I hope Sucker Punch makes a game in the style of Sergio Leone movies (just like they did with Ghost of Tsushima and the movies of Akira Kurosawa)
Really interested in Ghostwire Tokyo & Deathloop, I think we will get more on R&C, HZDFW & a new Silent Hill.
Since I missed out on a lot of the big titles from last gen due to travelling, I'd actually be quite excited to see me big games get the GOW, Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima treatment!
If they announce that TLOU2, Uncharted 4, FF7R are getting game boost updates I'll be quite happy. Would obviously love to see new titles designed specifically for PS5 too!

Btw, yesterday I stumbled upon 20 minutes of Little Devil Inside footage that was posted on YT last month but somehow I missed it (not sure if it was reported here - if it was, I missed that too). I was a little surprised to find out that it's actually an open world action RPG with some survival mechanics.

I want to stress that you should get your hopes up EXTREMELY HIGH. If they show anything less than "God of War 2 released May 2021, Metal Gear Remake by Bluepoint which is now owned by Sony, Bloodborne 60 FPS patch, Bloodborne 2, 10 new games made exclusively by Japanese Studios, 3 total surprises by AAA devs, Kena out now, and and PS Vita 2" then you should be OUTRAGED! Anything less means Jim Ryan has destroyed Sony! If you don't see EXACTLY what you expect, then it is your duty as a gamer to ENDLESSLY COMPLAIN and THREATEN DEVELOPERS!!!
Seriously, expect nothing and you'll be happier.
Returnal seems ripe for a deep dive. Althought I don´t know what is really left to show, people already have a pretty good idea of what the game have to ofter (it looks really interesting imo, by the way). Ratchet & Clank, as always, is another strong candidate to show up in the presentation. I will be keeping a close eye for frame drops in that one. Resident Evil Village may show up, but it is hard to image anything that would surpass its last awesome showcase. New game announcements is one thing that makes it a bit unpredictable. Hum... Hades for PS4, maybe?
