The PlayStation 5's white outer shell can be easily removed from the console. It's yet to be officially confirmed, but the theory is that we'll be able to replace the default casing with different coloured or patterned faceplates in the future. We wouldn't be surprised to see Sony flogging all kinds of custom panels down the line, but a third party outfit looks to have beaten them to the punch.

PlateStation 5 is a website offering a handful of alternate colour faceplates for your PS5, and its products are available to pre-order and purchase right now. If you're not a fan of the white casing, you can go here and select from a few different options, shown off with some 3D renders displaying the console equipped with various colours. At the time of writing, you can choose from red, blue, camo, chrome, and of course, black. They're all available in standard and digital edition sizes, too.

The custom faceplates will set you back $40, but we're sure plenty of people will pay up to have a PS5 in their favourite colour. There's no guarantee that Sony will offer official variations, so PlateStation 5 is your best bet for now.

Having said that, the company is extremely new, set up days ago, so there's no track record to speak of. We'd be careful about splashing cash at this stage, but if the business follows through with decent products, it could be a good option.

Anyway, what do you think of these unofficial custom faceplates? Which colour would you want to put on your PS5? Are you happy with white, or will you be forking out for a different style? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
