As part of its cover story, Game Informer is continuing to trickle out footage of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales running on PlayStation 5 hardware. This clip is particularly worthwhile, however, as it shows the title running at 60 frames-per-second, which looks sick we must admit. The emphasis here is on stealth, and the titular hero’s invisibility cloak certainly helps on that front.
One other detail we noticed is how the orchestral soundtrack incorporates some pretty cool hip-hop beats while Miles is in combat. It’s such a small thing, but it really sets the character apart from Peter Parker in the original game. How are you feeling about this game after the past few days of trailers? We currently can’t wait.

You mean playing as Miles is one long stealth section?
It always was
Isn't Spider-Man that one guy who had an MTV Show?
Miles is irrelevant after the reveal of Spider-Cat.
@HotGoomba Spider-Man The New Animated Series was the *****
Literally the only reason I tuned into MTV when I wasn't watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Handy Manny on Playhouse Disney
@TheFrenchiestFry I actually owned the DVD of the show. It was pretty good. Strange that it was on Mtv though...
The fact that this is also a PS4 game means I'll get it on PS4 much cheaper. I can wait through loading times. I have for the last 25 years. Where's the 'wow' Sony and Microsoft???
Very cool gameplay. Can not wait to spend some good hours with Spidey.
@__jamiie enjoy 30fps
I cant be the only one that is going to play on ps5 in 30 fps to get that awesome ray tracing?
@Amppari im gona play on ps5 in 30fps mode🤷♂️
@whoisbdub I'm playing it at 30fps for the ray tracing as it still looked silky smooth anyway and those reflections are so good
@__jamiie
Trying to to see wow in a video of 60fps mode, and probably not on a 4K screen, is going to be tricky.
I do wonder why they keep showing performance mode though.
The visual improvements this gen are going to be minor compared to the quality of life and feel improvements of the SSD and cpu pumping out smoother and more seemless gameplay. And I’m perfectly fine with that from Sony snd MS.
@thefourfoldroot they can only do so much with better graphics at a 399 and 499 price point so yeah I think QOL will be a much bigger focus this gen.
I don't know which mode I'll be playing this, 4K 60 fps or 4K RT, I really hope there's option to play 1080p 60 fps & RT
I want to play as the Cat + I don't know what to do now because I got Spiderman for my PS4 and not played it yet but looking at the new improved PS5 version I want to play that. I might have to wait until that comes out on it's own then but I want to play it NOW! Well both on PS5.
@wiiware I dont think there is an option for 4k 60. Pretty sure its 4k/30 with RT or a variable resolution at 60 without RT.
I could well be wrong though and both modes will still look lovely.
Love the way the soundtrack incorporates hip hop elements. Really excited to finally play this.
@Weebleman
There is an option for Native 4K/30 FPS with RT enabled.
There is also an option for Dynamic 4K (which Insomniac says looks like Native 4K to naked eye), with 60FPS and Screen Space Reflections instead of RT.
You can actually see the lower quality of the game running at 60FPS, the lack of ray tracing particularly.
@DonJorginho im surprised i remembered that correctly haha. Im happy to play through at 30 frames with all the bells and whistles on but, If the dynamic soloution is half as good as the ones seen this gen (particularly in sony 1st party), then its safe to say both modes will look good.
They might as well has called this BatMan: Miles Morales 🤣
The stealth sections of that game I loved, looks like they are taking a lot of influence from the Arkham series
@__jamiie they're exactly the same price?
@S1ayeR74 welcome to pc gaming
@whoisbdub I'll be doing 30fps. I choose 60fps for first person shooters
Am I the only one who thinks this looks like the PS4 Spiderman with just a few differences? The trailer didn't blow my mind. That being said, nothing wrong with more Spidey, the PS4 one is a masterpiece.
@aSmilingMan i agree on the 60fps mode but in 30fps with ray tracing I thought it looked amazing
@carlos82 30fps is not smooth, you're looking for the term consistent.
