Sky 3rd for sure is the way to go. Without getting into spoilers, one of the best story payoffs of Zero only makes sense if you have played 3rd. Skipping Sky 3rd would be a real head scratcher.
I'm interested in revisiting it. I actually really liked what I played in the beta. The only real reason I backed off was because it got too sweaty. I just wasn't good enough to hang but the game itself was really fun. Maybe with the more unified approach to character load outs I might have a better chance!
Please make PS3 a priority soon! No disrespect to PS2 but many of the big hitters from that generation got a collection on PS4 or are on PS Classics. PS3 on the other hand has a plethora of awesome games trapped on that console. Please consider making it a priority at your earliest convenience!
@Slideaway1983
No need to apologize. It's actually just funny that I need to specify whether it's an actual disc or not in the first place. In an ideal world we wouldn't have come up with just sticking a code in a box and calling it a day but well...you know...what can ya do?😄
@Slideaway1983 Even if it's not a physical disc necessarily, it's still more encouraging than just some more V-bucks. At least they want an actual game. Not just microtransaction money for a game.
Glad to see it did well. It was fun playing a Telltale style game again. Just felt like the right time for something like this.
I also think the 2 episodes a week approach was the perfect balance if your going for episodic content. Not too long of a wait like Telltale used to have a problem with. Not too short to the point of being annoyed and asking "Why not just put it all out at once!?" Good stuff. I'll definitely be there for season 2 assuming that happens.
Man I love me some Tomb Raider and I'll be ready to support when I can but can Tomb Raider alone really save Crystal at this point? They've certainly struggled ever since that blasted Avengers game.
If it's priced within the range of a PS5 currently then I could see it raising a few eyebrows. The way they are talking though, it sounds like it might be around at least $800 or so. It's too expensive at that point. It also is likely to be sold through Steam itself like the Deck was and that alone will limit its potential reach quite a bit.
It's an interesting product but I don't think Sony is too worried for now. Now Microsoft on the other hand might be a bit disturbed as this thing basically sounds like a cheaper version of what they are doing next.
The weirdest thing is the mobile game looks like a mobilized MMO Monster Hunter based of what was shown. So is this going to just look like a not MMO Monster Hunter?
@Shepherd_Tallon It does look pretty impressive for sure. Perhaps a bit too impressive. My phone would probably feel like it's on fire if I tried to run this on it!😅
@Shepherd_Tallon You make some good points. I know mobile is very big in Asia but I just feel like if you are going to make a free-to-play mmo set in an already established franchise, why wouldn't you make sure that the platform with most of your already established fans are able to play?
It just seems like they are making it harder than it needs to be to get an audience for this. I feel like the better approach would have been to be where the majority of fans already are and expand from there but what do I know?
I don't think anyone thought Guerilla was abandoning console development. I think people are just scratching their heads why this particular game isn't available on PS5 is all. It's just an odd choice.
@Wardenknight133 @get2sammyb I get that they want to capture the mobile market...but I don't see what that has to do with not releasing it on PS5. Or at the very least confirming a PS5 version will come down the road.
As a Free to Play game, they need to get anyone they can get to be sustainable. Cutting out the platform where the majority of already invested fans of the franchise are seems like a frankly dumb business decision.
Look at Hoyoverse. They make games that work great on a phone but are scalable upwards from there. They figured it out. Why can't NCSoft?
I know its meant for mobile first but it's still a very odd decision to not put this out on PS5. That's where the vast majority of Horizon fans already are. Why make things harder on themselves?
These results make sense to me. Yotei is a better game of course but story-wise it's Tsushima. Tsushima had a more interesting plot overall with the whole struggle between honor and practicality that Jin faced.
I just found that to be much more intriguing than the classic revenge tale Yotei told. And I like Atsu but Jin was just too damn cool to overcome. I liked making haikus more than drawing stuff.😄
Literally nothing good has come from this acquisition. Hopefully they can turn it around but I'm not hopeful Marathon will be the turning point. They really need to go back to the drawing board big time.
I actually only just got around to this around Halloween time. It is very good indeed. I dont even have nostalgia for the series as I never gave the series a shot. I'm certainly a fan now. Looking forward to the SH1 remake and trying SHf here soon too.
Good for the Xbox fans that will get to play it soon too.
Good to hear it was a worthy endeavor for them but I'm still firmly in the "not interested" pool. I just don't see any scenario where I'd personally use it is all. Happy for the folks that like it though.
Infinite was awesome. I was completely hooked to it for like 3-4 months. Loved it. My only real issue was the lack of maps. Outside of that it was really great. Hopefully whatever the plan is for multiplayer fixes that issue because everything surrounding it was top quality.
Mass Effect is one of my all time favorite series so I'm going to stay positive and excited to see where it goes. I never was a big Dragon Age fan so Veilguard doesn't really factor into my excitement one way or another.
That said I did buy a copy of Veilguard in the hopes of supporting the studio to get to the next Mass Effect. I love this series that much.
I'm glad to see them just pop up and say "Hey! We are still here and working on Mass Effect." I don't need a huge info drop every N7 day. A krogan civil war could be interesting. I have a few theories on what it could mean but anyway, happy N7 day Bioware. Still rooting for ya.
They are both great games for sure. I think overall though I did prefer Tsushima ever so slightly. Mostly because I just thought the story and characters were a bit more interesting. Yotei does play a little better though not by much.
One thing is for sure, Sucker Punch simply doesn't miss. Truly one of the best studios out there.
I don't take BF seriously anyway since it's such a...shall we say impersonal game. There's always so much stuff going on that I don't really pay attention to the score. Even if I would all of a sudden play absolutely out of my mind it's not going to make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things since I'm only one of like 30+ other players.
I do get where the complaints are coming from though. If turning off crossplay only matches you up with bots you might as well not even give the option to turn it off.
This is actually I think one reason why I mostly play fighting games if I play anything online these days. There isn't any real advantage to which input method each player uses. It's more about just what you are most comfortable with instead of just straight up advantage M&K with shooters. Sure someone with a really beefy PC setup might see a jab a few frames faster than me on my PS5 but...well if they willing to spend that kind of cash for such an advantage more power to em...not worth it to me.
I've really enjoyed my time with Dispatch. Honestly might be among my favorite of the Telltale style. The episodes coming out only a week apart from each other and getting two episodes every week at that feels just right.
I had an itch for a new game in this style and so far Dispatch has scratched that itch perfectly.
I don't really mind it to be honest. Would it be nice for it to be free? Sure but like it has been said it's not like that's the only reason to pay for the subscription. And if that's the trade-off for not needing to drop $1000+ for a next-gen console then I'll take that trade.
There isn't a chance in hell I'm dropping $1000 on a gaming console/PC. Not up front at least.
Damn. I could see that being really awesome if it would have happened! I'm a huge Matrix fan (even of Matrix 2 and 3... not so much on the 4th☹️) and thinking of how Kojima might have left his mark on the series is an exciting prospect. Guess it wasn't meant to be though.
I will certainly be keeping an eye on this one. Looks really cool! Classic God of War combat with a Prince of Persia looking aesthetic? That's a great combination.

Re: Black Ops 7 Dominates PS5 Downloads Despite Backlash
It could be the worst selling year COD has ever had and yet just about every other publisher/developer would ecstatic to have its numbers.
It just prints money.🤷♂️
Re: PS5 Action RPG The God Slayer No Longer Part of Sony's China Hero Project, First Gameplay Footage Is Jaw-Dropping
Looks pretty good. Might scratch that Infamous itch I've had for too long.
Re: Video: All the PS5 Games We Think Are 10/10
I agree with Astro Bot at least! Not so much with the rest though. Not that they are bad I just wouldn't call them 10/10s.
Re: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Dev Not Quite Sure Which Classic RPG to Remake Next
Sky 3rd for sure is the way to go. Without getting into spoilers, one of the best story payoffs of Zero only makes sense if you have played 3rd. Skipping Sky 3rd would be a real head scratcher.

No worries CDPR. You just keep cooking over there.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
A man of good taste I see. FFX is as timeless as it gets. It's easily my favorite still as well. It's aged like a fine wine. Just pure JRPG greatness.

This could be good actually. I'm interested.

Re: New Report Finds Almost Half of US Kids Are After In-Game Currency for Christmas
Unfortunate but on the bright side, 37% wanting a physical game under the tree isn't insignificant at least. It's actually higher than I would expect.
Re: Prince of Persia Remake Might Finally Launch in the Next Six Months
I hope so. Sands of Time is a stone cold classic. I'd be very interested in playing it again.
Re: Street Fighter 6's Sales Hit Another Noteworthy Milestone
I've sunk many many hours into it and I don't see that changing any time soon. It's just so damn satisfying to play and play well.
It's without a doubt going to be my most played game on PS5 when all is said and done just like SFV was on PS4.
Re: Expedition 33, Ghost of Yotei Have Started Scooping Up GOTY Awards
That's pretty nutty that ES4 got best remake over Trails in the Sky. I get that Trails never gets respect at these things but that is a damn tragedy!

Sony must really like Monster Hunter.😅

Sounds like if you are only interested in the documentary stuff and local play you will generally be fine.
If you wish to play these online though...perhaps best to avoid this collection.
So basically exactly like the SF 30th Anniversary collection but for MK.
