Re: Poll: What's Your Reaction to Horizon Hunters Gathering?

Korgon

I think it actually looks pretty good. I'm not usually into co-op forever type multiplayer games though so I don't think it's going to grab me in the end. It's just so difficult to grab a group together consistently. If I get an invite to the playtests then I'll give it a try at least.

Re: Sony Finally Confirms Horizon Co-Op Game, Horizon Hunters Gathering for PS5, PC

Korgon

It actually looks pretty good imo. I'm not the biggest fan of the art style but it isn't enough to dissuade me either. Combat looks fast and flashy in a fun way. I also like the various ways to play with the different scenarios. (One looks very Nightreign coded while another looks more Destiny raid based or something) My biggest holdup is really just trying to convince two other friends to try this with me as Horizon isn't as popular with my friend group.

We'll see. I like Horizon so I might give it a whirl.

Re: Ubisoft May Have Put Watch Dogs Down for Good

Korgon

It's too bad. I loved Watch Dogs 1 & 2. WD2 is honestly right up there with any GTA in my opinion. Legion didn't quite hit the mark but even then I respect that game for trying something unique with the whole recruit anyone mechanic.

A real shame. I really liked Watch Dogs a lot.

Re: Prince of Persia Series Isn't Dead Yet Despite Remake Cancellation

Korgon

I can't say I have faith in PoP at this point. Lost Crown was great but sold soft. Rogue PoP didn't really move the needle and Sands of Time remake felt like the last chance to pump some life into the franchise again only to be canceled.

Plus Ubisoft stated they are focused on open world and GaaS games, neither of which PoP fits into. I don't know. At best maybe the older titles end up on PS+ one day but the future looks bleak for PoP unless Ubisoft would consider selling the IP.

I'd love to be wrong though!

Re: Awesome Free-to-Play Fighter 2XKO Has Arrived on PS5

Korgon

I had a great first session with it today. It's a lot less stressful than SF6. 😅

It's very responsive and has a lot of depth if you dig into it. I also love the art style and the option to play on a team with a friend gives it a unique feel from most of the other games out there.

It does have some rough screen tearing though. Hopefully they clean that up with some updates. Overall though I'm happy with it.

@BentIeyma
There is not any single player content here outside of a training room. Perhaps they might add something down the line since it is a live service but at the moment if you are looking for single player fighting game content it isn't here.

I tried to hop in yesterday but the servers were down. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play it today.

Re: 'Could You Tell at the Time?': Ex-Producer Defends BioWare's Decision to Make ANTHEM

Korgon

Can't say I agree with him at all. The example he used doesn't really hold any water. Anthem was a big sidestep away from anything Bioware has ever been known for. Heck the marketing pitch for Dragon Age The Veilguard was "Bioware is going back to what they do best!"(didn't stick the landing there but that's a different topic for another day) You don't use that as your marketing pitch if the thing you did prior was in line with your studios identity.

Anthem was as far away from what people like about Bioware games as it gets.

Re: For the First Time Ever, the West Is Caught Up with Falcom's Massive Trails RPG Series

Korgon

I started with Cold Steel after finishing Persona 5 and looking for a similar experience.

Fast forward to now and Trails is easily one of my favorite series out there. Crazy that we are finally caught up with Japan but here we are!

A big thank you from myself to everyone involved in getting this series localized and caught up. A herculean task indeed but it paid off!

Looking forward to starting Horizon!

Re: Talking Point: Did ANTHEM Deserve the Hate?

Korgon

I wasn't too keen on the direction it was heading in since I also am not much of a Destiny fan either but I decided to at least give the beta/demo a shot simply because I was that big of a fan of Bioware.

I knew there was something very wrong from that small taste alone. Just didn't like it at all really.

I would say it sadly deserved the hate it got. This game is basically the catalyst for sending Bioware into the tough position they currently find themselves in. Just thinking about this game makes me sad.☹️

Re: Feature: 15 PS5 Predictions for 2026

Korgon

I really hope Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter makes a huge splash for the series. It's my personal favorite of the series and the remake for 1st Chapter is so good. I'm really confident it will be very good indeed.

Re: Fable Is 'Understood' to Be Coming to PS5, Says New Report

Korgon

We've crossed the line since Halo and Gears are on PS5 now. There isn't any shock with this sort of thing anymore. At best, some games might be timed Xbox exclusive like Forza 6 but that's it. Still though, nice to see. I loved Fable 1.

Never thought I'd see the day where I wouldn't be shocked but here we are. Times change!

Re: Sony Roasted for Promoting 'Temu Resident Evil' Ebola Village for PS5, PS4

Korgon

Maybe I'm wrong but personally, if curation made so I couldn't buy slop like this or that Life of Black Tiger game, I don't think I'd mind.😄

A proper curated store would be nice. It's not a huge deal for me as it's easy to just ignore titles like this but I would imagine indie devs who are trying to get eyeballs on a game they actually put some passion into would appreciate it.

Re: Game of the Year: #3 - Split Fiction

Korgon

My friend and I had a blast with this game. Sure there were a few mechanics here and there that felt a tad unpolished but overall this is a fantastic co-op game. Hazelight really has stumbled upon a really good formula for their games.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Action Game of 2025

Korgon

@TheArt
I gave it a good 8-10 hours or so. It just did nothing for me. The combat, the hub, the loop, the weird quirk of needing to do the intro cutscenes before doing co-op in story missions (maybe Wilds fixed this but this weird quirk just killed any momentum it had for my friend and I when we tried to play co-op in World). All of it really just doesn't click for me. The animations are impressive though. I'll give you that.

I'm happy people like it but I just have no desire to try it anymore. I like SF for many reasons outside of just some cool moves you can do. There's more to it than that but I won't bore you with the details.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Action Game of 2025

Korgon

Never could get into MH. I really tried with World but it's just not for me. Ghost of Yotei or Ninja Gaiden for me. Shinobi would probably be number 3 the combat in that game was pretty solid if a bit too straightforward at times.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 RPG of 2025

Korgon

Everyone's always pitting KDC2 versus E33. I'm just happy we have great RPGs to pick between both JRPGs and WRPGs. I personally lean more towards the JRPG side of things myself and so E33 and Trails naturally appeals more to me. That said, if you prefer WRPGs more then KDC2 and OW2 will appeal to you more naturally.

Either way, we are eating good in the RPG genre.
