I can live with the lack of physical support but I can't be spending $1000+ on a console. I'd definitely be planning around picking one up during the Days of Play sale or Black Friday if anything. Picking one up at launch is basically a no go if that's the asking price.

For the time being I'm still perfectly happy with my launch PS5 so for now I'm just going to stick with that.

I hope it stays multiplatform. Hell a lot of the Xbox faithful don't really hold Halo in high regard anymore anyway so why bother making it exclusive again? At least this way any future multiplayer outings have a better chance of having a larger audience.

If it does go away after this though, I'll live. I love Halo but I could never bring myself to buy a console just for it. Especially with how expensive consoles are now. It's just not financially responsible to do.

I can't say I love the news but as someone that has kind of gone back and forth on physical and digital, all the news has done is make me feel like I should just lean more into digital now as that's just the way the wind is blowing. This is an industry shift, not a Playstation shift.

There have many canaries in the coal mines that this was coming. GTA6 being the biggest one.

I think the most important thing now is to improve the digital experience. (better ownership protections, better refund policies,etc.) I loved physical games as much the next guy but I just don't see any way back to that so we may as well either look forward or become a retro only player.

I guarantee Playstation knew there would be blowback when they made this announcement. I highly doubt they are going to reverse course because of a few petitions.

It would take a dramatic drop in digital sales which doesn't seem like it's going to happen considering stuff like GTA6, which also got blowback for being digital only, has already sold many millions of copies.

It's sad but I think this is simply an industry shift that is inevitable.

A sign of the times I'm afraid. I was kind of a hybrid consumer of physical and digital up until now but I guess I might as well just start becoming digital only. I don't see any chance of physical games surviving much longer after today's news.

As a big DOA fan this hurts my soul. This release definitely feels mismanaged to a staggering degree. I'm still excited for the new one but DOA6 Last Round feels almost like a troll job release than an attempt to reinvigorate the fanbase.

I honestly would have bought it if at the very least it had crossplay and rollback. The fact it has neither is basically a death sentence for the game. Hopefully Team Ninja takes a good hard look at the many problems of this and course corrects for DOA7.

I don't really have any interest in online and I already own anything from R* that I've wanted so I'll probably just ignore this all together.

A bold move. I don't think R*/Take-2 really care but kudos to them for sticking to their guns.

The 1st season was so fantastic. I'm extremely excited for season 2 though. I have no doubt it will deliver.

Wow. Literally the biggest release in history possibly but they can't be bothered to print a disc? Feels kinda cheap.

The movie/TV side of Star Wars has certainly run into some problems but thankfully, for the most part, the games have been pretty good.

I didn't plan on playing this split-screen anyway so this really doesn't affect me but still. Literally no other game works like this. Whomever is responsible for this should be ashamed of themselves!

It was a bit odd hearing some of the VO from the trailer but I don't think the new cast sounded bad necessarily. Just different. There are many possible reasons why Atlus went this route but I'll withhold judgment until I play the game.

I thought the new VO for the P3 remake would bother me but I actually ended up liking the new cast better so you never know.

Perhaps Capcom will feel...motivated.

A real shame. Ninja Theory has created some truly awesome games throughout their life.
Heavenly Sword is one of my favorite PS3 games.
Enslaved was cool although I wasn't as hot on that one as the others.
DmC is far better than it ever got credit for. My 3rd favorite in that series actually only behind 3 and 5.
Then Hellblade was an incredible experience from start to finish. I haven't played the sequel yet but I still intend to.

If this is truly the end for Ninja Theory I tip my hat to them. An incredibly talented group of people.

If a game is highly unlikely to crossover with the player base of GTA6 then it might be worth it to creep into that early November time frame.

At the moment September/October is simply out of control. And the beginning of next year is also starting to fill up too. It's tough out there!

I definitely would have bought it if it came out on PS5 but like I said before I'm not exactly hurting for other things to play anyway so it's fine.

As for if this will change the fortunes of the Xbox console sales...I doubt it will work. We are late in the generation and consoles are much more expensive than ever. I'm a Gears fan but I can't justify buying a Series X (or even an S for that matter) for 1 or two exclusives at this point. So if it ever comes out for PS5 I'll be there. If not? I'll be a bit sad but I'll live.

It's too bad but I'll live. I got enough games to play anyway. I love me some Gears but I'm not buying a new console just for it. Not at these prices.

I love Gears but I'm not buying an Series X now in the console life cycle. If it does end up on PS at some point I'll play it then but if not I'll just live with it. Plenty of other games to play anyway.

Considering the top quality that is First Light Amazon would be crazy not to work with IOI again.

This could simply stem from IO not wanting to be a publisher as well as a developer though. After all, while IO has developed some great stuff, the publishing side of their business has been...well just look at the Mindseye situation.

It's hard to believe it could actually be revealed this week. However, they might feel compelled to put something out considering all the leaks. I kind of feel like the only reason they revealed P4R the way they did was because of all the leaks happening with that too so who knows? Maybe we could get a brief logo reveal.

I just don't find the concept of extraction shooters to be very fun is all. I'm more into the classic arena shooter like Halo.

I really tried to like it during the trial. The presentation is actually top notch. Really good stuff. I just can't get into extraction shooters. The concept itself just doesn't appeal to me at all unfortunately.

Eh could have fooled me. Game looks great. So long as AI is used simply as a tool (like it sounds here) and not a crutch (like no human input was implemented at all) then I'm not opposed to it.

I can't say I totally disagree with everything he said. However, even though I'm not very interested in the game I can appreciate that a lot of effort went into it. It doesn't look like ****. Some very talented people have clearly worked on this.

I'm just kind of ready for a break from GOW. But instead we are getting GOWL, Trilogy Remake, and a TV show? It's a bit too much. I'm also just not really interested in Fey much at all.

That would be like ordering a pizza with no sauce. I will leave it on if course.

It was okay. The most exciting new thing for me was Stuntman. Very interested in that! Not sure how I feel about GOWL though. I'm just not really interested in GOW without Kratos personally.

I was hoping for Intergalactic to get something. I know it was a long shot but still. That's my most anticipated Playstation 1st party game.

Nice! I actually really liked Splitgate. The only reason I don't play it anymore is just because I can't keep up with the competition. Very sweaty but the game itself is good.

Anyway I'll definitely try their take on Titanfall.

I know they've had a marketing deal for a while now but it would be kind of weird to see the first real confirmation of Persona 6 at an Xbox event. Just saying. 🤣

If the resources do end up going towards more characters a season then I'm all for it. I think World Tour is pretty great as is and 3 years of support considering its not the primary way of playing for most of the community is pretty generous really.

Really awesome to see MGS4 freed from PS3 finally. I do wish this collection had the other PSP games included too but what can you do. Maybe they will consider a Volume 3 at some point to finish it all up.

I could see myself actually engaging in this when I want to get away from the more sweaty ranked matchmaking for a bit. Cool fix to how grindy it is to max out master styles in world tour can be. Good stuff!

What a ridiculous thing to complain about.

1. They never promised it would be a live service game in the first place.
2. It got basically just as much content as the first Legends mode, which was quite a bit.
3. It's an entirely free addition to the game. Enough said.

People really need to change their expectations of everything lasting forever and ever. It's okay to end things!
