Re: Capcom Refuses to Back Down on Crazy Street Fighter 6 Pay-Per-View Plan

Korgon

@MichaelNau
I could see that might have been part of the plan for Battle Hub at some point. Plans have certainly changed at this point though. It's a cool idea though.

And they did do the "Support Capcom Cup" costume bundle stuff with SF5 so it's a shame to see them just never even try that again with SF6. I'd be much more willing to pay for that than just the privilege of watching the Capcom Cup.

@Jrs1
For multiple reasons potentially.
1. To simply enjoy competition. Why does anyone watch sports? People enjoy watching the best in the world compete against each other.
2. To potentially learn new techniques/strategies to help bolster your own play when next you hop on the game.
3. Maybe you make a friendly wager with some buddies? People have placed bets on stranger things.

It isn't for everyone but there is certainly an audience out there for this sort of thing.

@MrPeanutbutterz
No because the in-game replays system only captures online matches played. Capcom Cup is a locally played tournament. They did say they will put up a free video of the event a week or two later...but who will care to bother watching outside of maybe some of the highlight matches?

It's a real shame. I've enjoyed following the pro scene for SF6 quite a bit but I just can't support this. The only way I'd even consider paying would be if the ads were removed but we all know that won't happen. Feels bad man.☚ī¸

Re: Random: Fans Can't Believe Halo Is Coming to PS5 Before Killzone

Korgon

I'm glad Halo is coming as that is my favorite fps out there but I also really enjoyed Killzone a lot as well. They don't play anything alike really so I doubt Killzone would be overshadowed.

Killzone may not be the most popular shooter out there but they made 6 games in that franchise. Clearly there is an audience for them. Also keep in mind Killzone never released as a multiplatform title. It's sales potential was always cut short by that. Considering how Halo is coming over, what harm would there be in getting Killzone on Xbox and especially PC? Might as well if they would revive it.

Sadly though it doesn't seem like Sony is interested in the series at all at this point so I wouldn't hold my breath. At least I can soon play Halo again on my primary system.

Re: Halo PS5 Is Great, But Why Doesn't It Have Competitive Multiplayer?

Korgon

It is quite odd that they just released Gears with its multiplayer intact but are skipping it for Halo. As much as I love Gears MP, I would say Halo's MP is more important to have than Gears MP.

Sure Gears was just a remaster whereas Halo is a full-blown remake but still. It reminds me of how I felt when the Nathan Drake collection launched without Uncharted 2 or 3's multiplayer. Like I'm happy they are here but something is most definitely missing.

I'm sure Halo multiplayer will come around in some form in the future though so I'm not too worried.

Re: Expect More Halo Games on PS5, Dev Says Series Is 'on PlayStation Going Forward'

Korgon

Good to have it! I've always preferred Playstation in general but Halo has been and still is the GOAT of fps in my opinion. I always found some way to play the latest Halo release every chance I had. Sometimes it involved going over to a friend's house. Sometimes I joined my brother for a co-op session. I got to play Halo Infinite on PC when I last got a new laptop. Absolutely loved it. It was my GOTY that year.

Having Halo on Playstation is honestly a dream come true for me. Sure I wish it had multiplayer but as stated in this article the future of the series is on Playstation as well. Multiplayer will come. Never thought I'd see the day!

Welcome to Playstation Halo!

Re: Halo Confirmed for PS5, Remake of First Game Out in 2026

Korgon

Can't deny I'm disappointed to see no multiplayer. Halo without multiplayer is like ordering a pizza with no cheese. That said I imagine there's some sort of Halo multiplayer thing in the works for the future so maybe this is just them getting their feet wet with UE5.

It looks amazing! It does at least have co-op and the extra missions is a nice addition. Looking forward to it for sure.

Re: PS6 Could Be Less Than Half the Price of Microsoft's 'Very Premium' Next-Gen Xbox

Korgon

Kind of funny to think just a couple generations ago, $600 for PS3 was considered ludicrous by the masses. Fast forward to now and it's looking like a pretty fair price especially compared to the competition.😂

I already feel like performance is as even between PC and console as it's ever been so the idea of a PC Xbox just doesn't really make sense to me. Maybe there will be more to it whenever we start hearing more official information about these machines but at face value I just don't see this working out for Xbox.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Battlefield 6?

Korgon

I'm at a 7. It's a good time with friends but I'd never play it not in a group. Just gets a bit boring then. I didn't touch the campaign since most people seem at best kind of lukewarm on it.

Overall it's a solid shooter. Not my favorite shooter out there but I've certainly played worse.

Re: Talking Point: PS6 In 2027 - How Do You Feel About Sony's Next-Gen Console?

Korgon

I look at the games I'm currently playing and for the most part I just don't see any need for new hardware yet. I didn't see the need for the PS5 Pro. I don't see the need for the PS6.

Ghost of Yotei looks incredible and runs great on my base PS5. Other than that I'm playing mostly JRPGs and SF6. Neither of which are really taxing the hardware in any way.

Of course there is likely something in the works that will tempt me. Perhaps Witcher 4 will be the thing that tips me over the edge. One thing is for sure though I'm done fighting other players and scalpers at launch. It's just not worth the hassle. I will only buy hardware if a stress-free opportunity presents itself!

Edit: The portable possibility does interest me though. Particularly if it's actually ran on the hardware and not like the Portal.

Re: Call of Duty Is Trying Everything It Can to Make You Play Black Ops 7 Over Battlefield 6

Korgon

No SBMM worked out so well for XDefiant too...oh wait.

I get not wanting every match to be a sweat-fest but I feel like that's just the way it is sometimes. I primarily play SF6 for my multiplayer fix. It wouldn't make sense for the game to match me up with someone way lower in terms of rank. It's not fun for me because I'm just steamrolling the opponent and it's not fun for my opponent because they are getting...well steamrolled.

I feel like SBMM, while not perfect in some ways of course, is still miles better than just throwing everyone into the match pool with zero consideration for skill level.

Re: PlayStation's New 'Rewards' Program Goes Down Like a Lead Balloon

Korgon

The funny thing is the Stars program actually pushed me towards digital purchasing since you could get some store credit which in the end got Sony more of my money. Now I've veered back to buying physical since there's no longer an incentive to buy digital versions outside of convenience.

They are actually making less money off of me as customer from this. An exclusive merch store is not a compelling incentive for a rewards program. Simple as that.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for September 2025?

Korgon

Not really too much for me. Wolverine looks cool. Saros, I'll probably pass since I never was really interested in Returnal and it looks pretty similar to say the least. Nothing in the middle really caught my attention either. Good month for PS+ though at least.

Edit: Oh yeah Crimson Desert getting a date is cool though. I'm interested to see how that one turns out.
