Re: Horizon Online Snaffles Bungie's Design Lead As Guerrilla Builds All-Star Team Around Live Service PS5 Game

Korgon

I bet this could turn out good but I'm probably not going to be part of the audience for this. I'm not a MH fan so if that's what they are going for then I'm not interested.

The real question though would be can they move MH fans off of MH? More than a few games have tried but from an outsiders perspective it seems like Capcom has a pretty strong stranglehold on that market.

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Fans Sceptical of Seismic Changes to Fourth Game on PS5, PS4

Korgon

But...4 was the one that really got me into these games...

I mean I played the ones before and enjoyed them well enough but 4 was the first one that really clicked for me. The more open structure of it was a big reason why too. 4 and the Underground games are all my personal favorites of the series.

That would honestly be really disappointing for myself personally if they just morphed it into the 1-3 format and called it a day. I figured they wouldn't keep it exactly the same but at least keep the time limit out of it. Those maps are just too big to get around in 2 minutes.

Re: Talking Point: Is Forza Horizon 5's PS5 Price Point Too High?

Korgon

I honestly thought it would be $70. Personally I think it's a fair price. The game may be older but it's brand new to the audience it's coming to so I think $60 is perfectly fair. Porting a game still takes work to do. It's not a simple copy and paste job.

Now personally I'm not really interested in it anyway because I just don't do racing games outside of Mario Kart basically. However, should Halo launch at around the same price I'll gladly pay it.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Monster Hunter Wilds?

Korgon

I've tried to get into this series on three separate occasions including playing World but yeah its just not for me.

I appreciate how important it is for Capcom though and helps fund other Capcom titles I am more interested in so go get 'em Monster Hunter! I'm playing Splitgate 2 mostly this weekend instead for my multiplayer needs.

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

Korgon

@gaston
None of those titles really speak to me personally for the most part. I'm not a GT fan and as for RE technically RE4 is also on Quest as well. It's just based on the original version, not the remake. Personally games like Batman, Assassins Creed, and Asgards Wrath 2 speak to me personally more, all of which are only on the Quest. And again the backwards compatibility gives Quest's library a massive leg up in terms of the library of games available.

As for the haptics, I'm sure it's nice but I still feel like being wireless is more important to me. Being able to turn a full 360 degrees and not tangle up with any wires is really great. And sure the graphics are better on PSVR2 since it's hooked up to a console but Quest 3 puts out some pretty impressive graphics itself anyway considering its all built into the headset itself.

It comes down to personal preference of course though. So if you are happy with PSVR2 then good for you. Have fun! 😄

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

Korgon

I got a Quest 3 around Christmas time last year so I'm personally not in the market for PSVR2. It's biggest problem was the fact that it's not backwards compatible with PSVR1 titles and just hasn't really gotten much support from Playstation proper.

The Quest 3 on the other hand has access to almost everything on PSVR2 and has some compelling exclusives like Batman Arkham Shadow. It's also backwards compatible with Quest 1 & 2 games as well. Add in the fact that it's completely wireless too (which is a very big advantage to me for VR as I don't have to worry about accidently disconnecting the cord) and you got a pretty great product.

That is a pretty great price cut though to their credit. But if someone asked me where I'd recommend going for VR for the first time I'd still say Quest 3 is your best bang for your buck.

Re: Tekken 8 Boss Katsuhiro Harada Schools Fan Over 'Disrespectful' Response to Anna PS5 DLC

Korgon

The funniest thing is they probably have something more like one of her older looks in the game anyway like they did with Paul and his old/new hair styles.

And even if they don't, the customization in Tekken 8 is robust enough that one could probably just make something that looks like the old style anyway.

Bottom line this just feels like complaining for the sake of complaining.

Re: Yakuza Creator's Next Game Will Be Sent to Die As NetEase Implodes

Korgon

I wonder if Nagoshi will just retire after this game is released or if he will try to get back to Sega or try somewhere else. I don't think he would rejoin RGG as they seem to have moved on to the new leadership very smoothly and I doubt they want to rock the boat there too much.

Sad to see though. Him and his team certainly deserve better.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows' 'Canon Mode' Makes Fans Ponder the Point of RPG Options

Korgon

While I appreciate the choice I think I'll leave the dialog options on. The "canon" choice has never really made much of a difference in the overall story anyway in Odyssey and Valhalla. You still ultimately ended up in the same situations for the most part. The dialog options just alter some minor plot points but ultimately don't really affect that much.

Perhaps it will be different in Shadows but even if it is, I can just look up what the canon choices were later. I could also just do another playthrough later down the road in canon mode if I like the game enough!

Re: Reaction: The PS5 Discourse Around State of Plays Is Becoming Draining

Korgon

What people seem to forget about those glorious Playstation E3 days is that they were willing to show off games that would sometimes be 3-4 years away. I personally loved getting a look at games coming much further down the road but the majority seemed to hate it.

So fast forward to now and at most they generally only show off games if they are a year or two away and now people complain that they don't show enough.

You can't have it both ways.

Then there is also the problem of people only caring about 1st party games. Look I love me some Uncharted as much as the next guy but there are other great options out there in the 2nd/3rd party space.

There was some genuinely great stuff at this recent SoP. Get out of your comfort zone a bit and explore. Don't just die on that Bloodborne Remake/Remaster/Sequel hill. Otherwise you are just going to be miserable watching all these things.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Pre-Orders Are 'Solid', in Line with Odyssey

Korgon

@Cornpop76
I'm one of the ones that pre-order games. Is it a gamble? Sure I guess that's one way to look at it. I look at it a bit differently though.

I try to support games I wish to see succeed as best as I can whenever I get the chance. I've been a fan of AC since the very beginning. It's easily among my favorite series out there. The only one I didn't initially click with was Odyssey and yet eventually I came around on that one too. That sort of track record will get me to support a series for the long haul as I don't want to see the series potentially go into decline/go away if I can help it in my own small way. It's like supporting a sports team. Sure I could just watch the game on TV but sometimes I like to go to it in person even if I have to deal with annoying traffic/overpriced food and drinks.

Could I wait for a sale? Sure I could. And for people that do wait for a sale or just aren't interested, more power to them. Spend your money how you see fit. I will pre-order/pay full price if I believe the product is worth full price. Judging by the track record of the series, I'll get my money's worth out of this one too.

And if it turns out to not be quite so good, well I don't necessarily need my games to be an absolute masterpiece to find enjoyment out of them. As long as it's polished up well enough then I'll probably still feel like I got my money's worth in the end.

Re: Xbox Game Hellblade 2 Might Be Out for PS5 'Very Soon'

Korgon

I know people didn't like it as much as the first one but I'd still like to play/judge it myself. I've enjoyed pretty much everything Ninja Theory has put out since Heavenly Sword way back in the day so I'll definitely check it out when it pops up on PS5.

Re: PlayStation Fans Could've Had Another Resistance Game, But Sony Said No

Korgon

Such a damn shame. Resistance was a fantastic series. I think the reason 3 didn't sell as well as 1 and 2 is because they went away from the chaotic 40-60 player multiplayer matches to a more frankly boring COD clone style of only like 16 or so.

I remember playing the multiplayer beta and seeing they turned the Auger into a killstreak as well as having a martyrdom-like perk where Leapers would spawn out of a player who died. It had me thinking "They really just CODed my Resistance up!" It just didn't have the same unique feel Fall of Man and 2 did.

They also took out the unique 8 player co-op mode 2 had. It was awesome! Basically felt like a small Destiny raid before Destiny raids were a thing.

The single player was fantastic though on 3. My favorite of the series probably. Unfortunately that just wasn't enough to get people excited enough to buy it. I can see why we never got 4 but damn do I wish we could anyway. Resistance will always have a special place in my gamer heart as that was really the first series I ever got into for online multiplayer.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy a PS5 Mouse Accessory?

Korgon

I personally wouldn't buy one as I just don't like that method for gaming but I don't see any harm in allowing it to be supported if the devs want to use it. In regards to game balance with shooters for example, it is a bit complicated. I know cross play is a thing more games are making optional so as to not have pad users going up against PC players specifically for this reason. (Though avoiding cheaters is another)

If this would become a thing in console then they need to be able to seperate based on the user's input method as opposed to hardware. I'm no game designer but I would imagine that would be pretty difficult to do.

Re: Rocksteady Lining Up New Single Player Batman Game After Suicide Squad Disaster, It's Claimed

Korgon

Sounds good to me. I know people are skeptical after Suicide Squad which is fair. However, I have hope for them yet. They made a mistake with Suicide Squad. Mistakes happen but everyone deserves a second chance.

And just because the original creators aren't working there anymore doesn't mean new talent can't rise to the occasion. It's happened before and could happen again here.

And even if it is bad, it's not like the older games are going anywhere so what do we got to lose?

Re: Poll: How Long Does It Take You to Beat a Big RPG?

Korgon

Usually I can finish a big RPG in a little more than a month though it obviously fluctuates depending on the amount of time I have. I'm about 3/4s or so through Persona 3 Reload and I started that around the middle of December so it's taken a bit longer than normal due to the holidays and whatnot.

Basically I just take my time and don't think about it really. It's not like the next RPG I play is going anywhere!😄
