Re: Dry Your Eyes, Devil May Cry Will Seemingly Ride Again in Fortnite

Korgon

It's obviously not the DMC news fans are looking for. I don't play Fortnite but if even just one kid who plays Fortnite sees Dante and is like "Who is this Dante guy? He seems really cool! Maybe I'll try his actual game " then it was worth it.

Like it or not, it makes marketing sense to get involved in Fortnite if your looking to grow a fanbase. Plus this shows Capcom still has interest in the IP so I'm cool with it. I'm looking forward to the anime in April too.

We will get DMC6 eventually. Just need to have patience.

Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation

@Flaming_Kaiser
Oh I see people pretend Killzone was never very popular to begin with and Guerilla would be foolish to return to it over Horizon. I see that sentiment almost all the time whenever Guerilla's history in general is brought up. It's just as foolish as anyone saying no one likes Horizon.

I personally loved Killzone Shadow Fall myself. To me it was the perfect launch game for PS4. Great showcase for the console. Good lengthy campaign and great multiplayer to keep me occupied until other titles began to come out. Never did quite get what folks didn't like about it but to each their own.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Delayed Again, Now Out 20th March

Korgon

I'm fine as it gives me more time to focus on either Trails or Yakuza in February. I'm personally feeling pretty confident this game is going to be really good when it comes out so by all means, take your time and make it great.

A lot is riding on this release so I'm happy to see Ubisoft being careful with it. Looking forward to March!

Re: The State of the UK's Physical Games Market Might Explain PS5 Pro's Lack of Disc Drive

Korgon

I get that digital is the more common way of game distribution these days but I still think a disc drive should be included for backwards compatibility if nothing else. Many folks (myself included) still purchased games physically during the PS4 era. I would like to retain access to those games.

Plus it's a feature. Even if someone never uses it why would anyone want less features? The detachable disc tray would be fine if the demand was met but quite clearly it has not been met as its still difficult from what I hear to find a disc drive for the newer PS5 models.

Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation

Korgon

@Flaming_Kaiser
I mean I wouldn't say no to another Killzone. I love those games! And the fact there are a good amount of entries in that series proves it did pretty well for itself. It also seems like the recent Helldivers crossover has done pretty well for itself too outside of the pricing controversy.

It's kind of funny how some Horizon fans get upset about people saying no one likes Horizon and then go on to do the exact same thing with Killzone for some reason. Both are successful franchises in their own right! Why do people feel the need to tear one or the other down?

Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation

Korgon

I'm a Horizon fan. I've platinumed both titles in the series and played both expansions.

I can't deny that it does seem like there is a lot of Horizon either out or...well...on the horizon. I don't agree that you "can't count" projects that have yet to come out. Why not? As far as we know they are eventually going to come out. Sure plans can change like the Netflix show situation but even then now we have a movie in its place. It reminds me of how the MCU was a few years back when it felt like every time I sneezed a new Marvel movie/TV show was announced. It just got to be overwhelming.

I think there is a bit of truth on both sides. Some people really just don't like Horizon but obviously there are plenty of people who do like it so I don't understand that particular mindset about "no one" liking it.

Is Sony milking it? I can see how some might feel that way. There are a lot of Horizon things either out already or coming down the line. I can also understand people who are excited for some of those projects. I am too! Though not all of them. The rumored monster hunter like does nothing for me personally but I'll see the movie if it looks well done.

Re: PS3 Games Could One Day Get Emulated on PS5

Korgon

The dream continues to be dreamed. I'm fine with not getting 100% PS3 compatibility. Heck they don't have that for any of the other consoles as well either. If we could at least get some of the bigger hits going then I would be happy.

Something would absolutely be better than nothing. I want to play Infamous again without firing up the ol' PS3!

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Says It Hopes Everyone Is 'Living in Love' After Naughty Dog Artist's Interpretation of Eve Is Unfairly Criticised

Korgon

@CallMeDuraSouka
I know we will always disagree on things as a species. I just wish I understood why we have to use that disagreement as fuel to just try to tear each other down all the time.

I mean the people that attacked this poor guy are probably also fans of Stellar Blade. Like now we are attacking even fellow fans because they just happen to work at a different company that for whatever reason they don't like?

I just don't get it.

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Says It Hopes Everyone Is 'Living in Love' After Naughty Dog Artist's Interpretation of Eve Is Unfairly Criticised

Korgon

Good on Shift Up for being the adults in the room.

We seriously need to conduct a study on the amount of brain-rot this culture war has brought about on both sides of the political aisle. I refuse to believe there are that many just miserable people with nothing better to do.

Not woke enough! Too woke! If you fall on either of these sides I challenge you to honestly ask yourself two questions.
1. Does this really matter that much to me?
2. Why am I being so mean spirited to others because I might not necessarily agree with them on everything?

I want civic discourse to return!

Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Stellar Blade

Korgon

My 2nd favorite game of the year. Just an absolute banger in almost every way! Great combat, great enemy design/variety, great performance/presentation, interesting lore, fun characters...it's all here. My only real gripe with the game is I wish there were other melee weapons to use besides just the sword.

If the hopeful sequel fixes that one bit and retains everything else it could be an all-time great in my opinion. Congrats Shift Up!

Re: Industry Analyst Argues Either Sony or Microsoft Will Need to Exit the Console Market

Korgon

I wouldn't just assume Nintendo will automatically do just fine next gen either. Let us not forget the Wii U was only a generation ago. They depend heavily on the casual market to pick up their systems because they are usually the cheapest. If that market deems Switch 2 not worth it's likely more expensive asking price...

The Switch was indeed a massive success but let's not pretend Nintendo is untouchable here.

Re: Stunning Trails in the Sky Remake Confirmed for PS5 Release in 2025

Korgon

Thank goodness it's not Switch exclusive! I'm so excited for this!

Very surprising that NISA isn't involved with this though. It seemed like they were really hitting their stride with localizing these games faster. I wonder if GungHo was just better equipped for a worldwide simultaneous release? Wonder what the story there is.

Regardless, no more excuses folks who have been waiting to jump into Trails! The time is nigh!

Re: Hands On: Final Fantasy 16's Clive Is Ridiculously Well Realised in Tekken 8

Korgon

@MrPeanutbutterz
I think you might be misunderstanding my point a bit. I'm not saying original characters don't take as much creativity. My main in SF is AKI and she's great! Super creative and fun to play. And all those characters in GG you mentioned? Very creative indeed. If I had my way there would be no guest characters and all original characters.

However that just isn't realistic these days. Like it or not guest characters are here to stay in fighting games. So what I'm saying is if that's the case I would rather have a guest character from a non-fighting game instead of one from another fighting game because we have no idea how they will play...at all.

Take Mai for SF6. I can make an educated guess already at some of her move set just based off how her other fighting game iterations are without even seeing her in game yet. The flippy fire kick thing, fan throw, dive attack, forward moving elbow thing, etcetera.

Now take Guilty Gear Strive. (and I'm so glad you brought it up because this illustrates what I'm talking about perfectly) They have Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners coming. I haven't got a clue what her move set will look like. Will she use her monowire like a whip to be a zoner? Will she have some sort of crazy hacking abilities? Will she use a gun? Be a quick rush down character? I have no idea, and that's what makes it more exciting to me than if they just added someone who is already established from another fighting game series.

Basically all I'm saying is if we are going to do guest characters I prefer ones that force the dev to come up with original move sets for them instead of just implementing someone who already has a defined move set.

Re: Hands On: Final Fantasy 16's Clive Is Ridiculously Well Realised in Tekken 8

Korgon

@MrPeanutbutterz
I get that. That never bothered me much though since I don't really care about story in a fighting game. I like when devs have to get creative to come up with a move set for a guest character so when it's just another fighting game character...well it doesn't take much imagination to figure out most of their move set.

Plus I can't say I agree that Clive doesn't fit in Tekken considering Tekken has a friggin bear and a Panda as playable characters along with dudes turning into demon forms of themselves with eye lasers and whatnot.

A guy with a sword and magic powers and a pet dog seems to fit in nicely if you ask me. 😄

Re: Suicide Squad Season 4, Deathstroke Fail to Move the Needle Much

Korgon

I hope Rocksteady can turn it around on their next game. Yes, Suicide Squad was a big mistake. But I like to at least give devs a chance to redeem themselves on the next entry.

After all, everyone thought Devil May Cry was done for after DMC2. Then we got a complete masterpiece in DMC3 so it has happened before. Hopefully it can happen again with Rocksteady.

Re: Naughty Dog Turns Off Intergalactic PS5 Trailer's Comments As Discourse Turns Nasty

Korgon

Did anyone stop to consider the possibility that she shaved her hair for practical reasons? You know, one less thing her enemies have to use against her? I mean she is a bounty hunter so she probably gets in fights pretty often.

To top it all off we have one short trailer that really doesn't give anything away and yet people are acting like they know everything about this character already.

Culture warriors might legit be worst. Regardless of which side they are on.
