Re: The Witcher 4 Gameplay Revealed, Running on PS5 at 60fps with Ray Tracing

Korgon

@BiosNova @Reyzore
Actually if anything I trust them more than ever after Cyberpunk. They could have just taken the money and ran but instead stuck with it to the point that now Cyberpunk is legitimately one the very best RPGs available on modern hardware. They also gave refunds to anyone who wanted one.

Were mistakes made? Sure but I would say they more than made up for it in the end. And even if God forbid Witcher 4 launches in a not great state, I have more confidence CDPR will get it where it needs to be more than say Bethesda with ES6.

Plus the entire reason they switched to Unreal 5 is to have a much smoother development this time around.

It's perfectly fine to be skeptical though. By all means if you are uncomfortable don't pre-order until reviews and whatnot. I just can't say that I am personally skeptical here is all. 😄

Re: Elden Ring Nightreign's Massive Success Proves There's a Future for Online Souls

Korgon

It's literally the opposite of everything I like about a Fromsoft game. I prefer the slower paced exploration. I play them single player only for the most part. I like the RPG elements.

Needless to say, this game isn't for me but that's okay. I'm happy for the people enjoying it. I've got plenty of other games to keep me occupied instead so I'm not feeling left out one bit. I'll come back to From whenever their next more traditional style game comes around. Or Armored Core. I'm down for more Armored Core.

Re: Virtua Fighter's New Project Could Be Stopped If It's Not 'Good Enough'

Korgon

Bold words but I have a really good feeling about VF6. I know we haven't seen any real gameplay footage yet outside of a few seconds of blurry offscreen bits but right now is kind of the perfect time for a VF comeback.

Tekken is the only living 3D fighter out there at the moment and T8 has been...well let's just say in a not ideal space recently. The door is wide open for a new VF to flourish.

Re: The Order 1886 Could Have Been a Big Trilogy of PlayStation Games

Korgon

Always thought this game got dealt a bad deal. Sure it had its problems but there are worse ways to spend a weekend than playing Order 1886.

Would have loved to see the sequels especially if multiplayer was planned for the 2nd one. I could see that game translating very well into a Gears of War style multiplayer.

Re: MindsEye Really Does Look Like a Long-Lost PS3 Game

Korgon

Certainly some lofty ambitions here. I can't see myself playing Minds Eye a decade later but if it turns out to be solid enough with reviews then I'll consider giving it a go. Previews haven't left a good impression on the polish side of things so that's my main concern.

Re: PS5, PC Live Service Fairgames Is a 'Super Clunky' Cross Between Fortnite and The Division

Korgon

@Fishmasterflex96
I disagree. Every one of the games I mentioned I had a great time with their multiplayer. I legitimately didn't buy another game for like two years I remember when Uncharted 2 MP was at its best.

Yes not everything was great but the same can be said today too can it not? At least back then if you didn't like the mode you could just ignore it where as now because everything rides on one mode, if that mode isn't to your liking... well that's it. There's nothing else to enjoy with the product.

@get2sammyb @K1LLEGAL
I never understood why people complained about the multiplayer in games from that era. They always said it took resources away but there are countless releases maintained great campaigns with multiplayers "tacked on".

Gears of War, Halo, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Assassins Creed Brotherhood-4, Killzone, Mass Effect 3, Rainbow Six Vegas, Resistance, just to name a few. All of these had a great full package of everything someone could ask for with nothing feeling undercooked or anything like that. I definitely miss those days too. Not saying there are no good multiplayer games today but it's a lot more limited in selection these days compared to back then.

Re: Hellblade 2 Announced for PS5, Out This Summer

Korgon

I'm excited to play it! I know it didn't seem to impress as much as the first one but I still want to judge it for myself. I've been a Ninja Theory fan since Heavenly Sword so I'm glad I'll get to play this one after all on Playstation.

Re: Street Fighter 6's Elena Is Alive and Kicking in Full PS5, PS4 Gameplay Demo

Korgon

Quite literally one of my least favorite SF characters of all time. 😂

But she looks cool/balanced enough here. The healing thankfully looks much less obnoxious than it was in SF4 since there's no Ultra meter system here.

I really hoping for a season 3 more tailored to my tastes for characters this time around. There was basically nobody I was excited for in season 2. (Though I did come around on Mai eventually, she's cool) C. Viper, Falke, Sagat, Cody, and Sakura are at the top of my wish list. I'd also be excited to see a brand new character.

Re: Ex-GTA Boss' PS5 Shooter MindsEye Gets a Tiny Gameplay Trailer, with Launch Just Weeks Away

Korgon

I'm interested but they have done a really bad job promoting this game. Like do we know if it's an open world game? Is it linear like what Mafia Old Country is going for? Is there a skill tree? I don't know any of these answers!

I get not wanting to spoil too much but this is an unknown studio. You need to sell the game a bit. Otherwise people won't get interested even if it's something they might be interested in.

Re: Helldivers 2 Dev Breaks Away from PlayStation, Next Game Will Be Self-Funded

Korgon

I don't think Playstation is really missing out here. They will still put whatever their next game is on Playstation anyway. And if Arrowhead's next game doesn't turn out as well as HD2 did they can always fallback later to make Helldivers 3 or something with Playstation down the road.

It'd be kinda reminiscent of how Insomniac was when they branched out a bit.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Can't Stop the Ubisoft Rot of Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant

Korgon

I think they can do it if they just stay the current course. Assassin's Creed is easily their biggest and best bet which is why they have so many projects in the works for that series. Far Cry is also a steady seller for them too so that helps.

It may not make for the most exciting headline, but when your back is up against the wall as a company, it makes sense to rely on your most steady sellers to get back to profitability. I have hope Ubisoft can turn it around.

Re: Mortal Kombat Fans Are Fuming MK1's Support Appears to Be Over

Korgon

Sad but to be fair the Khaos Reigns dlc apparently bombed pretty heavily. So if that's the case then it just doesn't make business sense to continue support if no one is buying the content.

I actually liked MK1 myself but I get why they decided to pull the plug. Hopefully wherever NRS go from here works out better for them.

Re: Just Like the Game, The Last of Us 2's TV Adaptation Is Getting Review Bombed

Korgon

I do think I like the way the game has portrayed TLOU2 better personally. The show has been done well enough but some of the changes have been a bit head scratching.

I actually think the two actresses portraying Ellie and Dina have good chemistry but I felt like Ellie being upset/guilty about dragging a pregnant woman she likes into a warzone in the game made much better sense than the make-out scene. 😅

Still, it's been fine for the most part. Not as good as the game but still a fine way to spend an hour every week.
