Re: Praise, Raiden! Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Adds Mythologies, Special Forces

Korgon

Really wish it had the PS2 era MKs. Deadly Alliance is a stone cold classic in my opinion. Hopefully they do a second collection for those at some point.

As for Mythologies and Special Forces, it cool that they actually included them but oh boy are they bad...like really bad. Shaolin Monks is by a country mile the best of their attempts at spin-off games like this.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Go Up Against Battlefield 6 from 14th November

Korgon

I'm sure BF6 will take some players away but I highly doubt COD is going to be sweating much. Like it or not COD just works for its general audience. BF is a bit more hardcore and will not likely draw in your casual shooter fan.

Also it's just easier to play with friends in COD than in BF. That goes a long way for a shooter.

All that said though it is nice to see BF actually doing well for itself for the first time in a very long time.

Re: PS5's Battle Royale Craze Appears to Continue in Battlefield 6

Korgon

Battle Royale just never clicked for myself. Too much running around aimlessly and praying to RNGesus. I prefer the more traditional multiplayer shooter experience.

Thankfully it at least seems like shooters are moving away from putting all their eggs in the BR basket. A variety of modes is never a bad thing.

Re: Battlefield 6 PS5 Reveal Trailer Sets Up Modern-Day Setting, More on 31st July

Korgon

Looks and sounds pretty cool! The question though is will it work at launch? Hopefully yes but this series does have a history of launching in terrible states.

I still remember when I got BF4 for PS4 at launch. One of the most broken purchases I've ever made. Campaign didn't work. No party system. Matchmaking didn't work. Crashed constantly...it was rough.

Hopefully that won't happen this time around.

Re: Live-Action Assassin's Creed TV Show Still Happening, Netflix Green-Lights

Korgon

@Oram77
I do indeed remember both of them. The AC2 lead up movies were surprisingly great for what they were!

As for the movie, I actually think they had a decent idea but just botched the execution completely. In particular with the action scenes. They kept jumping back and forth between the real world and the animus world which made it very disorienting for no real reason. Plus the story was completely forgettable.

Hopefully the Netflix show will take some inspiration from the AC2 movie. If they do that then I'd could see this show being pretty good.

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 (PS5) - An Imperfect Remake, But a Great Skateboarding Game

Korgon

I'm so torn since 4 was the first one I really got into. I played the previous ones but only very casually at friends houses back in the day. I get why they did what they did but it is a shame 4 isn't more faithful since that's when it felt like the series really took a big step forward with the more open nature of it.

I'm glad the game itself is good though at least. But God be with them if they strip down THUG's career modes if that collection ever happens. I could see the backlash being much more intense for that then it is for 4.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Ghost of Yotei?

Korgon

Can't wait to play it! Sucker Punch is Sony's best 1st party studio in my opinion and Yotei looks like it will easily reinforce that viewpoint. The visuals are sublime. The music sounds awesome. The combat looks more expanded and dynamic. The exploration looks just as fun as Tsushima's. The story sounds cool...

Yeah, I'm definitely sold.

Re: Director of The Last of Us' Axed PS5 Multiplayer to Start New Studio in Japan

Korgon

It still pains me to know we are likely never getting a multiplayer ND game ever again. Easily some of the best out there. Sure I love the single player stories associated with ND but Uncharted 2 is legitimately my favorite multiplayer game of all time. I'm really going to miss getting experiences like that again.

I'll be keeping an eye on this dude's new studio though. TLOU multiplayer was so good.

Re: Reaction: Helldivers 2 on Xbox Signals Another Unexpected But Not Overly Surprising Shift in Strategy from Sony

Korgon

I don't mind. It's a multiplayer live service title. The goal with games like this is always to reach as many players as possible. It all comes down to if it's the right business decision at the time.

All the businesses are doing things like this. Sure some more than others like Microsoft, and some less than others like Nintendo. It's still happening though. There was a time when Nintendo developing for the phone market was inconceivable and yet it happened.

The way I see it, I still go with the manufacturer that has the MOST access to what I want to play. Playstation has always had that in spades which is why I've stuck with them even though I love me some Gears and Halo and Zelda. We should look at situations like these as a nice surprise, but not the norm necessarily. For example, I don't expect to ever be playing the OG Fable on a Playstation. It would be a pleasant surprise though. If not? Well that's fine. That's the way it goes sometimes.

Re: What the Hell Has Happened to Call of Duty?

Korgon

@nomither6
Just stating the facts is all. I enjoyed COD the most before killstreak, perks, and all the other nonsense was added. Back when it was pure. Granted I do still enjoy dabbling in the series here and there and the entries you listed are good...just not the best. 😉

Re: What the Hell Has Happened to Call of Duty?

Korgon

I'd love for them to go back to not having ridiculous characters running around but that ship sailed a looong time ago. Long gone are the days of COD being an actually respectable WW2 representation. COD2 is still the best of the series.

All that said, Beavis & Butt-Head is kind of funny at least.😄
