These results make sense to me. Yotei is a better game of course but story-wise it's Tsushima. Tsushima had a more interesting plot overall with the whole struggle between honor and practicality that Jin faced.
I just found that to be much more intriguing than the classic revenge tale Yotei told. And I like Atsu but Jin was just too damn cool to overcome. I liked making haikus more than drawing stuff.😄
Literally nothing good has come from this acquisition. Hopefully they can turn it around but I'm not hopeful Marathon will be the turning point. They really need to go back to the drawing board big time.
I actually only just got around to this around Halloween time. It is very good indeed. I dont even have nostalgia for the series as I never gave the series a shot. I'm certainly a fan now. Looking forward to the SH1 remake and trying SHf here soon too.
Good for the Xbox fans that will get to play it soon too.
Good to hear it was a worthy endeavor for them but I'm still firmly in the "not interested" pool. I just don't see any scenario where I'd personally use it is all. Happy for the folks that like it though.
Infinite was awesome. I was completely hooked to it for like 3-4 months. Loved it. My only real issue was the lack of maps. Outside of that it was really great. Hopefully whatever the plan is for multiplayer fixes that issue because everything surrounding it was top quality.
Mass Effect is one of my all time favorite series so I'm going to stay positive and excited to see where it goes. I never was a big Dragon Age fan so Veilguard doesn't really factor into my excitement one way or another.
That said I did buy a copy of Veilguard in the hopes of supporting the studio to get to the next Mass Effect. I love this series that much.
I'm glad to see them just pop up and say "Hey! We are still here and working on Mass Effect." I don't need a huge info drop every N7 day. A krogan civil war could be interesting. I have a few theories on what it could mean but anyway, happy N7 day Bioware. Still rooting for ya.
They are both great games for sure. I think overall though I did prefer Tsushima ever so slightly. Mostly because I just thought the story and characters were a bit more interesting. Yotei does play a little better though not by much.
One thing is for sure, Sucker Punch simply doesn't miss. Truly one of the best studios out there.
I don't take BF seriously anyway since it's such a...shall we say impersonal game. There's always so much stuff going on that I don't really pay attention to the score. Even if I would all of a sudden play absolutely out of my mind it's not going to make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things since I'm only one of like 30+ other players.
I do get where the complaints are coming from though. If turning off crossplay only matches you up with bots you might as well not even give the option to turn it off.
This is actually I think one reason why I mostly play fighting games if I play anything online these days. There isn't any real advantage to which input method each player uses. It's more about just what you are most comfortable with instead of just straight up advantage M&K with shooters. Sure someone with a really beefy PC setup might see a jab a few frames faster than me on my PS5 but...well if they willing to spend that kind of cash for such an advantage more power to em...not worth it to me.
I've really enjoyed my time with Dispatch. Honestly might be among my favorite of the Telltale style. The episodes coming out only a week apart from each other and getting two episodes every week at that feels just right.
I had an itch for a new game in this style and so far Dispatch has scratched that itch perfectly.
I don't really mind it to be honest. Would it be nice for it to be free? Sure but like it has been said it's not like that's the only reason to pay for the subscription. And if that's the trade-off for not needing to drop $1000+ for a next-gen console then I'll take that trade.
There isn't a chance in hell I'm dropping $1000 on a gaming console/PC. Not up front at least.
Damn. I could see that being really awesome if it would have happened! I'm a huge Matrix fan (even of Matrix 2 and 3... not so much on the 4th☹️) and thinking of how Kojima might have left his mark on the series is an exciting prospect. Guess it wasn't meant to be though.
I will certainly be keeping an eye on this one. Looks really cool! Classic God of War combat with a Prince of Persia looking aesthetic? That's a great combination.
@MichaelNau I could see that might have been part of the plan for Battle Hub at some point. Plans have certainly changed at this point though. It's a cool idea though.
And they did do the "Support Capcom Cup" costume bundle stuff with SF5 so it's a shame to see them just never even try that again with SF6. I'd be much more willing to pay for that than just the privilege of watching the Capcom Cup.
@Jrs1 For multiple reasons potentially. 1. To simply enjoy competition. Why does anyone watch sports? People enjoy watching the best in the world compete against each other. 2. To potentially learn new techniques/strategies to help bolster your own play when next you hop on the game. 3. Maybe you make a friendly wager with some buddies? People have placed bets on stranger things.
It isn't for everyone but there is certainly an audience out there for this sort of thing.
@MrPeanutbutterz No because the in-game replays system only captures online matches played. Capcom Cup is a locally played tournament. They did say they will put up a free video of the event a week or two later...but who will care to bother watching outside of maybe some of the highlight matches?
It's a real shame. I've enjoyed following the pro scene for SF6 quite a bit but I just can't support this. The only way I'd even consider paying would be if the ads were removed but we all know that won't happen. Feels bad man.☹️
I'm glad Halo is coming as that is my favorite fps out there but I also really enjoyed Killzone a lot as well. They don't play anything alike really so I doubt Killzone would be overshadowed.
Killzone may not be the most popular shooter out there but they made 6 games in that franchise. Clearly there is an audience for them. Also keep in mind Killzone never released as a multiplatform title. It's sales potential was always cut short by that. Considering how Halo is coming over, what harm would there be in getting Killzone on Xbox and especially PC? Might as well if they would revive it.
Sadly though it doesn't seem like Sony is interested in the series at all at this point so I wouldn't hold my breath. At least I can soon play Halo again on my primary system.
It is quite odd that they just released Gears with its multiplayer intact but are skipping it for Halo. As much as I love Gears MP, I would say Halo's MP is more important to have than Gears MP.
Sure Gears was just a remaster whereas Halo is a full-blown remake but still. It reminds me of how I felt when the Nathan Drake collection launched without Uncharted 2 or 3's multiplayer. Like I'm happy they are here but something is most definitely missing.
I'm sure Halo multiplayer will come around in some form in the future though so I'm not too worried.
Good to have it! I've always preferred Playstation in general but Halo has been and still is the GOAT of fps in my opinion. I always found some way to play the latest Halo release every chance I had. Sometimes it involved going over to a friend's house. Sometimes I joined my brother for a co-op session. I got to play Halo Infinite on PC when I last got a new laptop. Absolutely loved it. It was my GOTY that year.
Having Halo on Playstation is honestly a dream come true for me. Sure I wish it had multiplayer but as stated in this article the future of the series is on Playstation as well. Multiplayer will come. Never thought I'd see the day!
Can't deny I'm disappointed to see no multiplayer. Halo without multiplayer is like ordering a pizza with no cheese. That said I imagine there's some sort of Halo multiplayer thing in the works for the future so maybe this is just them getting their feet wet with UE5.
It looks amazing! It does at least have co-op and the extra missions is a nice addition. Looking forward to it for sure.
The production value really is quite incredible. For $30 too it seems solid enough. I was kind of itching for a telltale style game lately so this hit me at the perfect time.
Looking forward to the rest of the episodes. Also nice that the wait is just a week between each release. Much better than the month long wait times with old-school telltale.
I get why she would say this considering where Microsoft is now in the market but there's a reason Nintendo and Playstation hardware continue to perform well. They know how to give their platform value. Exclusives are part of it. It is as simple as that.
I honestly didn't even know there were calls for a boycott. 🤣
Glad the game is doing well though. It's really great. I do think I prefer Tsushima ever so slightly as I thought the story for that one was a bit more interesting but Yotei is a great game no doubt.
Kind of funny to think just a couple generations ago, $600 for PS3 was considered ludicrous by the masses. Fast forward to now and it's looking like a pretty fair price especially compared to the competition.😂
I already feel like performance is as even between PC and console as it's ever been so the idea of a PC Xbox just doesn't really make sense to me. Maybe there will be more to it whenever we start hearing more official information about these machines but at face value I just don't see this working out for Xbox.
I'm at a 7. It's a good time with friends but I'd never play it not in a group. Just gets a bit boring then. I didn't touch the campaign since most people seem at best kind of lukewarm on it.
Overall it's a solid shooter. Not my favorite shooter out there but I've certainly played worse.
I look at the games I'm currently playing and for the most part I just don't see any need for new hardware yet. I didn't see the need for the PS5 Pro. I don't see the need for the PS6.
Ghost of Yotei looks incredible and runs great on my base PS5. Other than that I'm playing mostly JRPGs and SF6. Neither of which are really taxing the hardware in any way.
Of course there is likely something in the works that will tempt me. Perhaps Witcher 4 will be the thing that tips me over the edge. One thing is for sure though I'm done fighting other players and scalpers at launch. It's just not worth the hassle. I will only buy hardware if a stress-free opportunity presents itself!
Edit: The portable possibility does interest me though. Particularly if it's actually ran on the hardware and not like the Portal.
I'd buy an Infamous 1&2 collection day one no question. Doesn't have to be Sucker Punch who does it. In fact that would be a waste of their resources. There are plenty of other devs out there that wouldn't mind taking on the project. Shop it around a bit.
The handling of Bluepoint might be the biggest head scratching decision made by the Jim Ryan era. I'm still genuinely bewildered about that whole debacle. Still, it is good to see they are moving on at least. Wishing them the best with whatever they are working on.

I feel like SBMM, while not perfect in some ways of course, is still miles better than just throwing everyone into the match pool with zero consideration for skill level.
Say what you will about COD but you gotta respect that they still put in some effort on their campaigns. Sure they aren't always good but they've hit more than they missed. BF campaigns have almost always missed outside of Bad Company.
Another thing to keep in mind is that with the way things are going, buying consoles at/close to launch is actually turning out to be cheaper than waiting in the long run. It's odd but I have a feeling that's actually a major reason it's done so well so early.
Damn. This sounds awesome. People just let their personal politics control too much of their lives. On both sides. A real shame. Hopefully if this was in the works the project can be revisited at some point in the future.
Usually I'm at one new game a month unless it's just a really good release month. I do partake in sales though when the opportunity arrives on something I'm interested in.
Absolutely loving it so far. It just proves yet again how damn good Sucker Punch is as a studio. Just awesome across the board. I honestly can't think of a complaint for it. Just a stone cold great game.
Of course I'll play it. Halo is still far and away my favorite shooter series of all time. Being able to play it on my preferred platform is a thing I never thought would happen!
