Re: PlayStation Fans Could've Had Another Resistance Game, But Sony Said No

Korgon

Such a damn shame. Resistance was a fantastic series. I think the reason 3 didn't sell as well as 1 and 2 is because they went away from the chaotic 40-60 player multiplayer matches to a more frankly boring COD clone style of only like 16 or so.

I remember playing the multiplayer beta and seeing they turned the Auger into a killstreak as well as having a martyrdom-like perk where Leapers would spawn out of a player who died. It had me thinking "They really just CODed my Resistance up!" It just didn't have the same unique feel Fall of Man and 2 did.

They also took out the unique 8 player co-op mode 2 had. It was awesome! Basically felt like a small Destiny raid before Destiny raids were a thing.

The single player was fantastic though on 3. My favorite of the series probably. Unfortunately that just wasn't enough to get people excited enough to buy it. I can see why we never got 4 but damn do I wish we could anyway. Resistance will always have a special place in my gamer heart as that was really the first series I ever got into for online multiplayer.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy a PS5 Mouse Accessory?

Korgon

I personally wouldn't buy one as I just don't like that method for gaming but I don't see any harm in allowing it to be supported if the devs want to use it. In regards to game balance with shooters for example, it is a bit complicated. I know cross play is a thing more games are making optional so as to not have pad users going up against PC players specifically for this reason. (Though avoiding cheaters is another)

If this would become a thing in console then they need to be able to seperate based on the user's input method as opposed to hardware. I'm no game designer but I would imagine that would be pretty difficult to do.

Re: Rocksteady Lining Up New Single Player Batman Game After Suicide Squad Disaster, It's Claimed

Korgon

Sounds good to me. I know people are skeptical after Suicide Squad which is fair. However, I have hope for them yet. They made a mistake with Suicide Squad. Mistakes happen but everyone deserves a second chance.

And just because the original creators aren't working there anymore doesn't mean new talent can't rise to the occasion. It's happened before and could happen again here.

And even if it is bad, it's not like the older games are going anywhere so what do we got to lose?

Re: Poll: How Long Does It Take You to Beat a Big RPG?

Korgon

Usually I can finish a big RPG in a little more than a month though it obviously fluctuates depending on the amount of time I have. I'm about 3/4s or so through Persona 3 Reload and I started that around the middle of December so it's taken a bit longer than normal due to the holidays and whatnot.

Basically I just take my time and don't think about it really. It's not like the next RPG I play is going anywhere!😄

Re: Rumour: Devil May Cry Remake Supposedly Outed by Vergil Voice Actor

Korgon

DMC3 still holds up very well so I would prefer a DMC1 remake as the combat for that one does feel a bit dated by today's standards.

That said, Virgil doesn't really have many lines in DMC1 outside of like one very small flashback sentence from when him and Dante were kids. So if this is a remake I would bet that it's more likely to be DMC3.

Honestly I'm fine with just more DMC in general though. It's the peak of action combat for me.

Re: MultiVersus Season 5 Will Be Its Final Update, Game Will Go Offline Afterwards

Korgon

Sad to see. I really enjoyed my time with it personally. I even think gameplay-wise I prefer it to Smash Bros slightly. It certainly had much better online support than Smash. Multiversus had its issues but overall this was a pretty damn solid platform fighter that just couldn't keep up with the demands of its audience.

It put Player First on my radar though at least. I'm interested to see where the studio goes from here.

Re: Some Think GTA 6's Multiplayer Mode Could Be Sold Separately on PS5

Korgon

I've never clicked with R* games in the past when it comes to multiplayer so I wouldn't really mind. I can't see them doing this at launch though either. While there are many that are also only interested in the single player content, having the multiplayer included increases the chance that an originally single player only player might give it a try and end up sticking with it.

Sure you could sell multiplayer separately for cheaper but just about everyone is willing to pay $70 (or more depending on who you ask) anyway so why bother?

Re: Former Rockstar Animator Doubtful GTA 6 Will Run at 60fps on PS5

Korgon

While 60 is certainly preferred and should be the target for most games these days, I can still do a stable 30 just fine. The tech that is going into GTA6 pretty much guaranteed it wasn't going to be 60 so I'm not really expecting it anyway.

Plus I don't play R* games online or anything and GTA isn't really a game that relies on pinpoint accuracy or reaction speed. So I'm fine with 30 for it.

Re: PS3's Most Bizarre Game Will Have Its Own TV Show

Korgon

I liked Beyond well enough at the time although I haven't played it since it first released on PS3. I still need to get around to playing Detroit Become Human at some point but I absolutely love Heavy Rain. A stone cold PS3 classic in my eyes!

I could see Beyond translated to a show pretty well actually. In fact better than the game since it did quite literally have the most blatant example of "plot armor" ever seen. 😄

Re: Studio Closure, Layoffs at Ubisoft in 'Targeted Restructuring'

Korgon

The amount of pressure on AC Shadows is borderline unfair. That said though, I think it's going to deliver. The game is looking really great!

It's sad to see these layoffs but let's face it. Ubisoft does employ a lot of people. It was bound to happen sooner or later. They just simply have too many people to make a profitable business. Hopefully these folks can land on their feet wherever they go from here.

Re: We're Already Big Fans of Street Fighter 6's Mai, Launching As DLC Next Week on PS5, PS4

Korgon

I wouldn't say I'm highly anticipating her as I don't really like SNK games but I'll admit she does look fun to play. Much more interested in playing as her than I ever was with Terry or Bison. I got plenty of rental character tokens to burn so I might as well give her a try.

I'm mostly just happy we are one step closer to a hopefully more appealing selection of characters for season 3 as none of the characters in season 2 really speak to me personally.

Re: Xbox Boss Wants to Beat PS6 on Hardware Capabilities, Not Necessarily Games

Korgon

It's an odd way to look at it for sure. Like it or not exclusive games are the main thing that set consoles apart from each other. Fancy features here and there are nice to have but to say that will be the main selling point? I really doubt that will work out for them.

I didn't buy a PS5 for the dualsense features or graphical prowess. I bought it because it gives me access to the most games that I would be interested in playing. It's as simple as that really.

Re: Poll: How Would You Have Reacted to a Live Service God of War Announcement?

Korgon

Confusion is the word that comes to mind for me. I mean Bluepoint...expert remake/remaster studio...making a live service GOW? Such an odd choice. I must admit I'm curious just what the heck they had in mind with it.

I wonder if there were staff at Bluepoint who were like "Okay! We are a 1st party Playstation studio! So what are we making 1st?...what's that?...a live service modern GOW game?...ummm...sure I guess..."

Overall just a truly baffling story.

Re: Would You Pay $100 for GTA 6?

Korgon

I like GTA but for $100? Not a chance. I'm not that big of a fan. The only series that could potentially get me to pay that price as a start would probably be Persona and even then I'd have to think about it.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida on PSVR2: 'I'm Sorry'

Korgon

I finally got into VR last month but I went with the Quest 3 instead. It just has better exclusives (Batman is fantastic), backwards compatibility (big miss on PSVR2's part there), and it's portable which is very nice for VR.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida: If You Want New First-Party PS5 Games, You Should Support Remasters

Korgon

I'm not wholeheartedly against remasters/remakes. I just would prefer they pick better choices than the ones they have chosen. I look for three main points when considering buying one of these.

1. Is the game already easily available on modern platforms?
2. Does it play well by today's standards?
3. Has it been long enough to really make a difference?

That's been the problem I've had with Playstation's remakes/remasters this generation. Horizon 1, TLOU1, Uncharted 4, Until Dawn...all games that fitted none of these criteria.

But on the flip side you got something like Persona 3 Reload recently. That one fit all of these criteria pretty much. And so? I happily supported it.

It's really not that complicated. If it's a game that makes sense to receive the remake/remaster treatment then I'm cool with it. If they are looking for ideas? Hey! There are plenty of choices from the PS3 generation! Look there!😃

Re: Shuhei Yoshida Reels Off List of Reasons the PS Vita Bombed

Korgon

He pretty much nailed it on every front. I would say the memory cards were the main reason though. There was some solid 1st party software on it even if it was abandoned after a couple years. Those memory cards though... that was a problem that plagued the system for its entire life cycle.

I still love the Vita though. It's still my favorite handheld I ever bought. I personally preferred the separation of game libraries for handheld and home console. I liked having games developed with portability in mind. Just don't get that anymore with consoles like the Switch.
