Shenmue III has been out for just over a week, but it's already available for a reduced cost -- at least in North America. While in Europe the long-awaited sequel is holding its initial price, Amazon US is currently listing the game for $34.99 as part of its Black Friday sale.
That perhaps speaks to the slow start the game has had when it comes to shifting copies. It didn't manage to crack the top 10 in the physical UK chart, and it doesn't sound like it's done particularly well in Japan either. Still, we imagine that most people who wanted this game will have already received it due to backing it on Kickstarter.

At any rate, Shenmue III for $34.99 is a decent bargain. Will you be picking the game up for that price? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

This game should never have been full price, the die hard Shenmue fans likely backed it. It was never likely to appeal to the masses either and certainly not for £50
A week after release this is a steal. It's a great game to chill me out after a stressful day.
If you enjoyed the original games and want more of that but prettier you'll love this.
Any price slash in the UK?
Just picked it up on ShopTo for £36
The fact its already on sale makes me think twice about getting it at all.
Might end up on PS+ within the year at that rate.
It's a game that is exactly what it needed ti ne! If you are on the verve and Mike Shenmue just get it...it IS a shenmue game !
I already picked up the digital deluxe edition and its worth every penny. Shenmue is very special. 😍👍🎂
It came out at a bad time too. Sandwiched between the usual COD crap, plus Jedi Fallen Order, Death Stranding, and Pokemon S&S, for examples.
Where’s the review?
