This was a great game and an excellent addition to the souls-like genre. The dual world function was really a nice mechanic and added some depth to the gameplay.
This was a fun enough game and I give them props for trying something different. As others have stated though, it’s a shame this was Visceral’s last game and it’s doubly a shame they weren’t working on Dead Space 4 instead. At least this one was miles better than BF2042. Now THAT game was rage inducingly bad!
I'd say my top 10 are as follows: 1. RE5 (unpopular, I know, but it was my first RE game so it'll always be special to me) 2. RE7 3. RE2r 4. RE9 - Requiem 5. RE4r 6. RE8 - Village 7. RE3r 8. RE Revelations 9. RE6 10. RE4 (PS3 version)
Working my way towards the platinum for Resident Evil 4. Still have 2 speed runs and a no healing run and then I’ll be done. Hope everyone enjoys their time gaming this weekend!
If all these devs are complaining about AI generated (fill in the blank), this signals fear to me more than anything else. And what's the old saying? "We fear what we don't understand". I think in this case, we (most pointedly, game developers) DO understand that many of our jobs could be severely impacted or even lost because of AI. And that's where all this is coming from. I certainly don't want anyone to lose their job because a machine can do it quicker, better and cheaper, but the fact of the matter is, AI is here to stay and the smarter ones among us will get out ahead of it and figure out a way to let it be a benefit to us and our careers instead of a hindrance or even a death knell.
HIGHLY recommend Metal Eden for fans of fast paced,, high octane FPS games. It plays like a mix of DOOM with a little bit of Ghost Runner sprinkled in and wrapped in a Cyberpunk shell. It never overstays its welcome and leaves you wanting more. Truly a gem of a game I hope more people give a chance to. I think you’ll be very pleasantly surprised if that’s your type of thing.
@nomither6 Gotta disagree with you on GK. I had a great time playing that in co-op with my son. And even the solo time I spent in it was decent and enjoyable. I do agree it was the 'least' of the Arkhamverse games but it was still fun, IMHO. All good though - to each their own.
As a side note, I'd love to see a remake of Arkham Origins w/out the MP component.
Working my way through Resident Evil 4 remake right now and quite enjoying it. I had played the PS3 version of the game way back when it came out and never really liked it much at all so I had passed over this version when it released, but RE Requiem gave me a new desire to play it. Hope everyone has a great time with whatever they’re playing this weekend. No rage quitting!! 😉😂
I typically buy physical games so this doesn't affect me much, despite the fact I think it's a pretty s#!tty practice. Either way I usually wait for price drops and sales anyways.
LOL - go figure. I just bought Metal Eden a few weeks ago. Always works out that way, doesn't it?
All in all though, it was money VERY well spent. That game is an absolute overlooked gem! Part DOOM, part Ghost-Runner and wrapped in a Cyberpunk shell, it's an absolute blast of a game that I hope more people give a shot to (pun intended). REALLY, really enjoyed my time with this game. HIGHLY recommended!
I’m 55 but I don’t feel like it, at least in my head 😂. My body on the other hand? 🤣🤣🤣 I will say though, when you get to this age, you realize your 50’s and early to mid 60’s aren’t as old as everyone thinks.
Regardless of age though RE9 has been a FANTASTIC game! Really impressed with it!
The second DLC for this game was jarringly out of step and different from the base game and the other 2 DLC's. In fact, it was so bad it even had broken trophies, which to this day still haven't been fixed. As a trophy hunter, they likely won't be getting my $$ on this one unless they care to go back and fix whatever that 2nd DLC was.
This seems pretty long and overblown but good looking none the less. For my personal tastes, the old advertisement for Bulletstorm with Filter's 'Hey Man Nice Shot' blasting away as the background music is the way you do an ad for a shooter. but that's just me...... If you haven't seen it, here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0dysJ-gSYM
I finished ALIEN Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition just in time so, like many, I’ll be playing RE9. As well, I’ll be sprinkling in a little COD BO7 MP just to do the daily challenges. Hope everyone has a great weekend of gaming!
A remaster is one thing, but all of the sudden I'm starting to view reMAKING Bloodborne as something akin to remaking a film like 'The Big Lebowski'. Some things are best just left as they are, warts and all.....
This all makes this game seem equal parts something to look forward to and be excited about and yet at the same time something to steer well clear of. I guess I'll just have to see what the consensus is between players and reviewers once it drops for real. Definitely has my interest piqued though.
@StitchJones Agreed! I absolutely loved that game. It was such a surprise and SO enjoyable! I’m actually bummed I finished it. Twice no less. Even Brutal mode was an enjoyable challenge! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I just platinumed Metal Eden which was an extremely fun game and played like a cross between DOOM and Ghost Runner. Having completed that, I bought ALIEN: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition but haven’t started it yet so I’ll be playing that this weekend. Hope everyone enjoys what they’re playing. Have a great weekend y’all!!
Game looks decent enough but that's a pretty cluttered HUD it looks to me. There's already enough going on, on-screen with the game itself. All that info on the HUD is kind of distracting.....
I’m playing through Metal Eden right now. It’s a techno / cyber DOOM knock off but it’s quite fun and enjoyable. The graphics are quite good and the gameplay is fast and fluid. The guns are all fun to use and have a good feel to them. Definitely a solid recommendation if you’re into FPS games and enjoy the fast paced action of the DOOM games. Happy gaming this weekend everyone!
Incredible game and such a nice surprise. Personally not my pick for best non-FromSoft Soulslike, but it's so good I wouldn't argue with anyone who thinks that. Definitely looking forward to the inevitable sequel!
I just finished Killing Floor 2 last night and with my pre-order of RE9 delayed until mid March I need to find a game to play until then. I’ve considered The Last Descendant since it’s free and a long game (to platinum) but it’s grindy and apparently not that good. I’ve also considered Insurgency Sandstorm since I like shooters and it’s on PS+ Extra but it’s apparently difficult and a MP game. Then there’s Metal Eden, ALIEN Rogue Incursion and ROBOCOP Unfinished Business, all of which are on sale right now but are short games. Not sure what to play……??? If anyone has any experience and thus thoughts on any of these or suggestions, it would be appreciated.
So this game is going to feature back-stabbing, bribing, secret sharing and essentially be a ‘plate-spinning exercise’ in dealing with its characters? You mean just like dealing with people in the real world which is partly what I play games to get away from? Geeeee………’can’t wait’ 🙄🤦🏽
I grabbed A QUIET PLACE: The Road Ahead on PS+ Extra this week so I’ve been playing that. It’s a decent enough game that reminds me a bit of ALIEN Isolation. Hope everyone enjoys whatever they’re playing this weekend! Happy gaming!
DEFINITELY a day 1 purchase. I think 2027 is probably gonna push to 2028 tho. Can’t see them putting out a game that’s as solid and polished as the first in basically 2 years time but here’s hoping.
Really don’t have anything to play this weekend except COD BO7 MP. I had bought Metro Exodus in the current sale along with it’s DLC and after completing the 2 main DLC packs, I tried to fire up NG+ but the system kept crashing on both my PS5 and PS4 so I guess I’m SOL there. 🙄🤷🏽🫤. Just gonna wait for Tuesday to roll around so I can snag A Quiet Place : The Road Ahead when it hits PS+ Extra. I hope everyone has a great weekend gaming!!
I'll definitely play A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead. I've had that on my wishlist since before it came out and almost pulled the trigger on it a few times. Glad I never did! This is one of the rare times it worked out. Usually I end up buying a game and within a month or two it hits PS+
Glad to see A Quiet Place hitting Extra. Have had that on my wishlist since it came out and almost pulled the trigger on it a few times but never did. Now I can get it as part of my Extra subscription. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
As usual, none of the offered games have any appeal to me, even as a “well, I’ll at least stick that one in my library and if I’m ever REALLY bored one day I’ll give it a shot” kind of thing. TBH, it’s gotten to the point where if a game I want to play ever does show up as a free game of the month it’s a shocking surprise and a blessing I’m grateful for.
I picked up METRO Exodus and all of its DLC for just under $10 in the recent sale on PSN so I’m going back and working on 100% completion on the trophy stack. I played and platinumed the game years ago when it came out but never bothered with the DLC so I figured why not complete it all since it’s so cheap? Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys whatever they’re playing!
I resolve to stop playing games that are likely only going to frustrate or aggravate me for one reason or another. In other words I intend to be more discerning and intentional about my choice of games.
I’m kind of in between games right now since I just platinumed Astro Bot and have absolutely NO desire to do the majority of the DLC’s. It was (for the most part) a charming enough game, but I don’t enjoy platformers all that much and some of the challenge levels in that game were immensely frustrating. By the time I finally made it through the Great Master Challenge at the end, it had worn out what good will I had for it and I couldn’t wait to delete it from my system. That said, I’m now looking at grabbing one of the following in the current sale: Metal Eden WUCHANG Fallen Feathers ALIEN Rogue Incursion Evolved Not sure what I’m gonna go with as they all appeal to me in one way or another but I have had a few people say WUCHANG is the way to go.

Both Gotham Knights and BATMAN: Arkham Origins got way more hate than they deserved and both were incredibly fun games to play.
