I actually like it better than DOOM: Eternal, but maybe not quite as much as the 2016 reboot by just a liiiiittle bit. Dark Ages is immensely fun and quite well made. Not really understanding all the hate for the Atlan and Dragon levels as I thought they were fun, a little something different and didn’t overstay their welcome.
I’ll sort of miss it but ONLY because it was nice to get some occasional wallet funds for menial actions or purchases. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t care at all.
Traveling to Colorado this weekend for the holiday so I won’t have much time at all to game, but if I do it’ll be on my PS Paperweight ………..uh, ‘Vita’. ……. 😂😉 where I’ll be playing some Gravity Rush. Gravity Rush is a great title for that device as it makes good use of most of the Vita’s features. Unfortunately, about the only time I ever play my Vita anymore is when I travel which isn’t too often and even then it’s not much since there’s (obviously) other stuff I’d rather be doing. Anyways, hope everyone has a great time with whatever they’re playing!
I paid full price for it on PS5 and I’m enjoying it immensely. Excellent game. Granted I’m disappointed that the physical copy is little more than a license key, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that the game is incredibly well made and lot of fun to play.
I haven’t played this yet and it’s been on my list of games to play since before it came out. Despite the fact I’ve played just about every Soulsborne, Souls-like and Souls-lite out there the difficulty of this one has had me hesitant about it. Seeing as how there’s going to be a difficulty option that can make it a bit easier, I may just give this a go when that happens…..
Not surprising in the least bit. The only things worth getting out of it were either free PS Store credit or free games. Both of which took forever and an eternity, respectively, to earn. Just have to make sure I cash out before it runs out
The games are certainly very good games and well made but, IMHO, are also somewhat overrated. Maybe it’s because I played the first one a few years after it came out, but I definitely didn’t think it was THEGREATESTGAMEEVERMADEINTHEHISTORYOFEVERANDDON’TYOUDARESAYOTHERWISE!!!!! Same for the sequel. As for the TV show, It’s definitely well done entertainment and I enjoy watching it but there’s no question it has its issues, much of which has been discussed on this site already so I won’t belabor the point. Suffice it to say, it’s a good story that works well in both mediums but isn’t the be-all, end-all many make it out to be.
I have a REALLY busy schedule this weekend so I don’t have much time to game but when I do I’ll be playing DOOM: The Dark Ages. Hope everyone enjoys their games!
I did something for this game that I very rarely do which was to pre-order it. With games like DOOM, God Of War, Call Of Duty, Remnant, any FromSoftware game and maybe one or two other series or developers, I know from past experience the quality of game I’ll be getting and that it will be loads of fun. All of which is to say I’m all about supporting good devs and game series with top dollar to show my support for them. Especially in a day and age when game studios seem to be closing down left and right every time you turn around.
Battlefield V…… LOL. Well, at least it ain’t Battlefield 2042. That game is the reason I’ll never buy another Battlefield game within a year of it’s launch
Great to hear! But the only way I’ll purchase this again is if it gets a new trophy stack and I can platinum it all over again. Otherwise there’s not much point in it, at least for me.
I have nothing to play this weekend as I just platinumed Rise Of The Ronin and now I’m just biding my time until DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Having said that though, the game did get me in a very Japanese-oriented mood as I’ve always found their culture and country beautiful, rich and fascinating, so I watched the 2024 version of Shogun. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re into that sort of thing. Utterly fantastic in every way!
@Oram77 I liked it a lot as well. Especially on the hardest difficulty setting. Had an absolute blast playing with a full squad and trying to figure out what loadouts worked and what didn’t for each stage. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Good to hear! I wanted to play this game but not for the price of a VR headset. Considering it'll be $30 when it releases I'll likely give it a shot. I've enjoyed most of the Aliens games that have come out and this looks pretty good.
I'm confident it'll be excellent too, based on Control and Alan Wake 2. So much so that I'll be pre-ordering it when its available for that. And I RAAAAAAAARELY ever do that anymore.
Still working my way through Rise Of The Ronin and basically biding my time til DOOM: The Dark Ages. RotR is decent enough and I’d certainly recommend it to anyone waiting for Ghost Of Yotei. It’s a Ghost Of Tsushima lite mixed with a Ubisoft game.
Borderlands 1 was awesome, fresh, cool and a ton of fun
Borderlands 2 was somehow an improvement on what was already great and that much more fun
Borderlands The Pre-Sequel was too similar and too soon after the last entry and ended up being largely forgettable and .......'just OK'
Borderlands 3 was a big disappointment for A LOT of reasons. Take your pick - i'm sure you have your own.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was somehow surprisingly good and quite fun. I suspect because it didn't entirely follow the Borderlands formula, but whatever the reason it worked pretty well.
Borderlands 4 though? I remain skeptical based on 3 and the Pre-Sequel, but cautiously hopeful based on Wonderlands. One way or the other, I know I'll end up picking this up at some point but I highly doubt it'll be on Day 1 like I've done with the past entries. I DO KNOW though, that I don't need a 20 minute SoP for this game.
Taking my time with Rise Of The Ronin and also playing some MP matches of COD BO6 here and there. RotR is a good game but it’s not holding my interest for long periods of time and it feels like Ghost Of Tsushima lite. Maybe I’m just looking forward to some of the games coming out in the next few months so I’m just biding my time? Whatever the case…… happy gaming everyone!
NIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!! I’ve been looking forward to this game so I’ll be all over it day 1 w my PS+ Extra subscription. Game looks like it’ll be a good time!
No better time or reason to get a RESISTANCE Remastered Collection! And while we're at it, let's FINALLY get some trophies for RESISTANCE: Fall Of Man.
Definitely all-in on this but I'll likely do what I did with the first one and wait for a 'Director's Cut' or whatever (and even then probably on sale) as there will inevitably be DLC for this game. With all the other games out there that I want to play, I prefer to minimize my monetary expenditures instead of letting these publishers nickel and dime me to death for everything. But yeah, this game looks GREAT!
Cool. Looking forward to this even though I don't really have any friends that will co-op this with me. I'll just have to stick to randos or find people in forums online.
Really enjoyed this game when I played it a month or two ago but man, ……the lock-on was atrocious and frustrating. Glad to hear it’s been improved upon. Great game if you enjoy Souls-likes! The dual world mechanic is a fantastic touch! And it’s a stunning looking game as well. I’d strongly recommend this for souls fans.
I've never seen a woman's shirt in real life (other than a bikini) that works the way they do in comic books and other mediums, such as these models, where every square centimeter of their breasts is TIGHTLY covered by the fabric over them, like it's paint. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but it's completely unrealistic and kind of funny, IMHO....
i just platinumed BANISHERS: Ghosts Of New Eden so I went and picked up Rise Of The Ronin yesterday and started on that. It reminds me a LOT of Ghost Of Tsushima. Not very far into it yet to say how good of a game it is but from what I’ve played so far I’m enjoying it.
Other than that, I’ll be playing COD: BO6 as I always knock out the daily challenges and move on.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys what they’re playing!
My thoughts on it are a combination of answers from the poll above - I’ll only pay it for a very few select titles and grudgingly at that but I’ll typically do what I already do now and just wait for sales and discounts.
I’d absolutely love to have the Resistance series remastered as well as inFamous and Killzone. Honestly, there are a LOOOOOT of great games in the PS3 era that could stand a remaster.
I’m all over Halo however it comes to PlayStation but I’d prefer it in a ‘drip-feed’ as opposed to all at once so as to not be tempted to just rush through them.
Still playing through BANISHERS: Ghosts Of New Eden. Also playing some COD: BO6 MP. I know that game is basically becoming Fortnite at this point but it still has the best and most satisfying gunplay of all the shooters out there. At least IMHO.
I just bought Robocop in a sale a couple months ago. Decent game but I had the feeling it would pop up in the Essential tier sooner or later. Wish I had waited. Oh well, good game for those interested but haven't played yet.
Only 3 I've ever had any REAL interest in that were Xbox exclusives were Gears Of War, Halo and Sunset Overdrive. I'd also like the Senua sequel as I played the first game and enjoyed it enough, but it's not in the same class as the other 3 for me.
I’m expecting absolutely NOTHING from this game today, but I did coincidentally buy a Bloodborne T-shirt yesterday at Hot Topic that I happen to be wearing today. That’s about all I can reasonably hope for Bloodborne related happenings today.
I’m playing BANISHERS: Ghosts Of New Eden and I have to say the game is quite impressive to the point it may be one of the more overlooked gems of this generation. Really enjoying taking my time with it. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys story-heavy action adventure games.
Never been a huge fan of the Fallout type of game despite playing Fallout 3 & 4 to 100% completion on the trophy stack, so I'll be passing on this. But I'm glad that this has reviewed well as the industry in general needs some good, well-done and (hopefully) successful new IP's.
I’ve only ever played Odyssey (to 100% completion on the trophy stack) and AC III on the Vita so I’m not a big fan of the series but I’m definitely looking forward to picking this one up at some point. There’s just something about this setting that clicks w/ the AC series for me so I’ll be picking this up at some point.
