An interesting exchange occurred on the Push Square Slack channel earlier this week, as we were putting the finishing touches to our Mega March sales guide.

“What if our users are seeing different prices?” PS Store professor Stephen Tailby pondered.

We, of course, double-checked as much as possible – but it was a pertinent point in the face of PS5’s dynamic pricing debacle.

What we know for certain is that, across over 100 games in around 60 or so countries, users are seeing different prices, based on a variety of parameters not disclosed by the platform holder.

Understandably, this has rustled the jimmies of practically the entirety of our audience – and seeing as even our editorial team has observed different prices on games like Assassin’s Creed Unity, we’re not overly keen on it either.

But has it shaken your relationship with the PS Store at all? Do you still feel comfortable spending on software you know could potentially be cheaper for someone else? And has this forced you to reconsider your purchasing habits?

We’d love to hear from you on this because, while we think there’s lots to appreciate about PlayStation’s business, this is one of those unanimous bozo moves that we’re struggled to wrap our heads around.
