Resident Evil Requiem PS5

Capcom has confirmed it will be heavily supporting Resident Evil Requiem during this post-launch period, most notably in the form of a story expansion and an additional mode.

In a video posted to social media, director Koshi Nakanishi reveals story-focused DLC is now in development, which will "delve deeper into the world of Requiem". It sounds like the expansion is a ways off, as Nakanishi asks for your patience while Capcom works on it.

Before then, it's revealed that a Photo Mode will be added to Resident Evil Requiem, and there's also a "minigame" being added to the game "around May". There are no bonus modes whatsoever in Resident Evil Requiem — the only thing you can unlock is a harder difficulty level for the campaign. This has left fans wondering where the likes of Mercenaries are, and this future update could answer that question.

It's also confirmed Capcom will continue to regularly support Resident Evil Requiem with general updates and bug fixes.

Today's news follows on from the announcement Resident Evil Requiem has sold over five million copies since release. The new entry has been critically acclaimed, earning a rating of 89 on Metacritic. In our Resident Evil Requiem PS5 review, we called it "a two-in-one package that delivers both excellent survival horror and action gameplay".
