Really looking forward to Gears Of War and Halo. Always wanted to play those series. he’ll blade 2 will be nice as well. The first one was quite good.

I won’t have much time to game this weekend, but I’ve been off work on PTO for a week and a half and I’ve been THOROUGHLY enjoying the beautiful, well-crafted and fun gameplay of Black Myth: WUKONG, along with COD: BO6’s rather fun MP offering this year.
In all honesty though, I’m totally focused on watching my Detroit Lions hopefully clinch their division and the #1 seed in the NFC on Sunday. that’s the type of game I’m REALLY invested in this weekend. 💪🏽😉👍🏽

What the actual heck?!?! Suicide Squad?!?!? SERIOUSLY????? 🤦🏽🙄🤷🏽 C’mon Sony, that’s weak as hell!!! Not a good way to start the year. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

This was my personal GOTY. Can’t say enough good things about it. Just that simple.

Some great games on this list. And Still Wakes The Deep was such a nice surprise. REALLY enjoyed that game! Short game but a good time nonetheless.

Still working my way through Black Myth: WUKONG and Black Ops 6 when I need a break from Wukong.

Great game and was really impressed with this as I had never played a Silent Hill game before. I'd put this in the #4 spot on my personal GOTY list behind Stellar Blade, Black Myth: WUKONG and Helldivers 2, and just ahead of COD BO6.

@ROTTIEMAN16 Honestly, I had forgotten about the RE games and have no interest in GT7 or Synapse. But even so, let’s say I included both RE games, 4 games isn’t enough for me to spend that kind of money on a gaming system. Especially when I buy roughly 15-20 games a year on just the standard PS platform.

None of these games appeal to me except for Helldivers 2 which was one of my personal top 5's as well. Such a GREAT game and so well done!

The only VR games I had interest in this year were the Arkham game which wasn't even on PSVR2 and the Aliens game from Survios. 2 games isn't enough to justify that kind of $$$

I didn’t play any of his other selections but Stellar Blade is my GOTY and Silent Hill 2 is definitely in my top 5 for sure.

Stellar Blade wins this category for me as it’s my GOTY anyway, but Black Myth: WUKONG is a really close second.

For my tastes Black Myth: WUKONG was EASILY the winner here.

You got it - my handle stands for Detroit fan in Atlanta Yeah, the Lions are REALLY banged up on defense with injuries but our offense is one of the best in the entire league, so I'm hoping it's enough to secure the #1 seed in the NFC and get our injured players some rest. If that happens I think we can probably at least get to the SB. After that.....??? We shall see.
And I'm no Aaron Rodgers fan myself. Had too many years of getting beaten on by him when he was in Green Bay. So, like you said - go home to California Rodgers!! Stop bringing down a good franchise with an excellent and loyal fan base!!

I have the next week and a half off work so I'll be bashing my head against the (seemingly) endless supply of bosses in the absolutely excellent Black Myth: WUKONG. And when I'm not doing that, I'll be diving into COD: Black Ops 6 MP for little bit.
Beyond that, it's just going to be spending time w/ family and friends and cheering on my Detroit Red Wings and especially my Detroit Lions as they make the final push to the playoffs!! As well, I might try and take in an Arsenal match since I'll be able to get up early enough to watch them. Hope everyone has a great weekend gaming and doing whatever you like best!

I expect there to be a few games I’ve had my eye on for along time that will go on sale……..yet none at a price I’m willing to pay. That’s usually how it goes.

Not sure how I feel about this. While it's absolutely true that the FarCry formula is getting a bit stale and definitely 'samey', there's also no denying it works and it's a lot of fun if done well (FC3, 4 & 6, IMHO). I'm not a big fan of time limits but it could work if it's done well, I suppose. As for a PvP extraction shooter, isn't COD doing that already and quite well at that? I suppose throwing animals and weather (IE, 'survival' elements) into the mix could shake it up, but to what degree? I remain skeptical but hopeful, and I certainly give them props for trying something new and attempting to breathe fresh air into a stale room.....

Just platinumed ROBOCOP: Rogue City so now I’m playing the absolutely fantastic, impressive and super high quality Black Myth Wukong. Totally get why it was nominated for GOTY!
But my real focus this weekend is watching my Detroit Lions host the Buffalo Bills in what could be a potential Super Bowl matchup. GO LIONS!!!

Bummer to see Stellar Blade completely shut out of any award. The game might not have been innovative but it was a great game none the less. Also would have liked to have seen Silent Hill 2 win for audio design but Hellblade 2 is a solid choice instead.

Careful what you wish for. Buyouts often mean ‘restructuring’ which is essentially corporate speak for (some) layoffs.

Where's the gutsy, bold choice for Concord or SUICIDE SQUAD: Kill The Justice League?? Where can I vote for those??

Ironic that a character named "Deathstroke" is the final DLC for this game.

@HRdepartment I couldn't agree more. Returnal is such an incredibly well-done and truly addictive gameplay loop, it's hard to top. For sure there's a lot of other games on the PS5 that I love, but there's nothing else proprietary to the PS5 ONLY that hooks me in and blows me away like Returnal does.

Just platinumed the EXCELLENT Silent Hill 2 remake. Was really impressed with it as I had never played a Silent Hill game before. The atmosphere was just so absolutely perfect it was oppressive. And my favorite ending was the 'Maria' ending. "You should do something about that cough." (!!!) Ominous at best, sinister at worst - absolutey awesome!
Having completed that, I've moved on to ROBOCOP: Rogue City which I picked up for $20 in a recent PS Store sale. It plays just like the movie - cheesy and mid-grade but absolutey fun.

PS 1 & 2 look the best but it’s PS3 for me. that’s the first PS system I owned and the games from that generation are some of the best, or at least the most nostalgic for me.

I’ve been splitting my time between the very well done and extremely fun MP of Black Ops 6 and the incredible Silent Hill 2 remake. I’ve never played a Silent Hill game before so I have to say I’m quite impressed. The atmosphere is so utterly oppressive and creepy it’s nerve wracking. The fog is so thick and the Otherworld is so decayed, rusted and dark it makes for a harrowing journey where you never know what’s around each corner or every next step for that matter. And the sound design is utterly amazing! This game is a GREAT example of survival horror done RIGHT! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I’m a physical media guy and always have been. I wouldn’t even consider buying a product without the option for physical media until physical media itself goes the way of the Dodo. Thus part of the reason I don’t own a PS5 Pro, even if you can get the drive as an add-on.

I’m a big Aliens fan but I’ve never dug top-down strategy games. Maybe since this is ‘free’ I’ll give it a shot…..

No getting around it - BO6 is a really solid entry in the series. I’m not wild about some of the story beats or mechanics in the campaign, but it’s still relatively solid. The MP, however, is absolutely EXCELLENT and the zombies component is well designed and fun to play as well. Quite happy with this year’s COD offering.

I’ll be playing through the Black Ops 6 campaign on Veteran with what time I have this weekend. I finished it on Normal last night and found it to be very ‘middle of the road’. Certainly some great fights and fun chapters but there were also a few chapters that actually incorporated zombies and Batman-like movement which I found to be out of place and unnecessary in an otherwise decent story.

Just bought physical copies of Silent Hill 2 and FLINTLOCK: The Siege Of Dawn yesterday, but I saw a game I've had my eye on for some time now drop just below $20 US so I grabbed ROBOCOP: Rogue City this morning in this sale.

"Cool story bro", but I'll pass on a DS3 remaster. Thought it was perfectly fine when I played it at release and with the glut of good games out these days and the paucity of time I have to play them, I'd rather spend my time and $$ on somethng I haven't played.

As for the continued desire for a Bloodborne remaster, I'd certainly take it if it ever came to pass as that's one of very few games I'd play again, but at this point I'd rather just have a Bloodborne 2 please and thank-you.

As much as I like ELDEN RING: Shadow of the Erd Tree, I can’t justify it getting GOTY since it’s 1) a DLC and not a full game & 2) it’s just more of a known quantity and didn’t really do anything significant to really separate itself from the base game. None of which is bad as Elden Ring is a PHENOMENAL game but again, I don’t think it deserves GOTY. I’d have to say Astro Bot would be due those honors even though my **personal** GOTY is Stellar Blade. I know it doesn’t do anything new or unique but , as with any entertainment, games are all about how much fun you have with them and for my money and time, no game I played this year was more fun or more worth my $$ and time than Stellar Blade!

Won’t have much time to play this weekend as it’s my 21st wedding anniversary, among other things, but what time I do have will be split between playing some Black Ops 6 MP and zombies along with watching my Detroit Lions. Happy gaming everyone and hope all reading this have a fantastic weekend!

I’m a big fan of COD but even so I’ve never understood the inclusion of non-military things in a game that’s rooted in military operations and combat. This goes for the ridiculous and absurd skins of the past few years in MP and Includes zombies. I enjoy zombies but I’ve always thought it should be its own game / package / offering / whatever. In it’s place I’d prefer to see the inclusion of the original style of Spec Ops we had back in the original MW2 & 3. I think that would make for a much more solid and overall ’military’ offering. Just ny 2 cents worth….

But will RESISTANCE: Fall Of Man FINALLY get trophies?????

Nothing for me personally as the only one of interest I've already played and that was GHOSTWIRE: Tokyo. Very good, solid and well-made game though for anyone on the fence about it.

The execs who greenlit this, the greatest disaster in modern gaming, need to pay for this with their jobs. Pretty much everyone else involved with it has, so why not them? Justice needs to be served here!

I have almost no time whatsoever to game this weekend due to prior commitments, but what time I do have, I’ll be playing Black Ops 6. I will also be following the scores on my Red Wings, Lions, Wolverines and Arsenal. Then come Monday, which I have off of work, I’ll be spending a decent chunk of the day playing. Played this on PS3 and was wildly unimpressed. Forgot about it almost as soon as I popped the plat. I’ll be passing on this release.

This is soooooo stupid. I really don’t like how they’re doing the trophy stacks as DLC for MW2, but, whatever it’s just a video game. 🤦🏽🤷🏽

It’s a really good game for sure. The boss fight with The Lizard is one of the best, most well designed and well balanced boss fights I can think of. It has a little bit of everything in it and is an absolute blast. And Venom……!!!! How fun was that to not only fight him and see those cinematics with him, but play him as well!!! OFF. THE. CHARTS!!!!
