The debut trailer for 007 First Light aired during Sony's recent State of Play, and it finally unveiled IO Interactive's take on James Bond.
However, while there was much to enjoy about the trailer, including a look at numerous characters and various gameplay clips, fans are left wondering — just who is playing the lead role in this origin story?
Well, it didn't take long for some to work it out, or so they think.
There's been no official confirmation of any performers for 007 First Light, but some claim to have recognised the character's face and voice in the new trailer.
Looking around online, a number of people are convinced that Patrick Gibson is James Bond.

There is certainly a resemblance between IO's Bond and the Irish actor, so there's every possibility this is right.
In any case, IO Interactive is set to show more of 007 First Light at its own showcase event, so perhaps we'll learn the truth there.

I thought it was Val from Visions of Mana but on 2nd thought that was probably a different game in the SoP, but I KNOW I heard him in there somewhere. Gonna go look.

This game looks phenomenal. Instantly became one of my most anticipated games, hoping that the developers can make a series out of it akin to the films. Bring on 2026
Wasn’t as into it as I expected to be… probably to do with the whole teeny-Bond vibe tbh. I’ll almost definitely still play it though.
He would also be a great pick for bond on the actual movies.
He was great on dexter first blood. He had big shoes to fill too.
That's exactly who I thought about when seeing the trailer! I hope it's true. Loved him in 'Dexter: Original Sin'.

That was my first thought — it was the main actor for the prequel Dexter. Also, that’s a great show, and his performance was very good. I’ll be content if he is the James Bond in this game.
Really hope the game has the same level of freedom as Hitman (probably won't)

I know him from The OA. Great series. Shame Netflix cancelled it. He is very good though.
@TheKramer89 he comes off as kcd2 henry a bit yes, not so much the actor.
