PS5 Fans Are Begging Sony Subsidiary ANIPLEX to Port The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy 1

Fans of Danganronpa and Zero Escape will already be familiar with The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.

The tactics RPG is the latest project from Too Kyo Games, which is a dream team developer founded by the creators of the aforementioned franchises, Kazutaka Kodaka and Kotaro Uchikoshi.

Irritatingly, it’s also published by Sony subsidiary ANIPLEX, but is not currently available on the PS5. It launched last week on the Nintendo Switch and PC.

And while it was overshadowed dramatically by the releases of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, it’s been incredibly well received, netting a Metacritic average of 85.

Our friends at Nintendo Life specifically scored it a 9/10, and were effusive in their praise:

“It's an instant recommendation for fans of Uchikoshi and Kodaka’s past work, but even if you’re not so much into visual novels, consider adding this one to your library,” beamed reviewer Mitch Vogel.

Of course, given the Sony connection, the strong recommendations have inevitably led to an influx of PS5 port begging.

“Hoping it’s doing well enough to get a PS5 port,” one user wrote on X (or Twitter). “I want to play it there.”

Another added: “Hoping this success leads to a PlayStation.”

Others are simply spamming the official social media accounts asking for “PS5 please”.

Too Kyo’s previous effort, Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, was ported to the PS5 eventually, so we’re hopeful here. It’s just a question of how long it’s going to take.
