SEGA has confirmed by way of its latest management presentation that Persona 4 Revival and the new IP from Yakuza team RGG Studio, Stranger Than Heaven, will both release at some point after April 2026.
The publisher confirmed the titles will be released "in or after" its fiscal year 2027 period, which runs from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027. Of course, the use of "after" in the presentation slide means both games could be even further out than March 2027.

Persona 4 Revival was announced after various online rumours spread, sharing early footage of the protagonist simply walking about the town of Inaba. It was described as "early development content", and the release window update most certainly lines up with that statement.
Stranger Than Heaven, meanwhile, is a new IP from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and looks to be more of a detective title ala Judgment. It too won't release on PS5 until April 2026 at the earliest.

Atlus really did release too much in a short amount of time, now they have nothing for while.
I am not surprised there was no way they had enough employees for persona 3 and metaphor refantazio which was it's largest project ever and persona 4 at the same would've been absurd
I'm okay with waiting, I just finished a 102 hour play through of P4G.
Now onto Metaphor
Better contain the Golden content.
Also keep in mind P5 came out so long ago IT HAD A PS3 VERSION!!!! Just make 6 already
As a guy who considers Persona 4 Og to be in their top five games of all time, the way this game has been revealed to us so far is really disappointing. It got leaked to hell and back before the game was even announced. When we do get an announcement for it, the trailer is abruptly ends before it even starts. And now it looks like itβs going to be ages before we actually see anything significant of it.
Yep, persona 6 is very far than π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π
I think they could have kicked the P4 remake down the line a bit and instead focused on P6. P3 I get. That one really needed a remake considering how difficult it was originally to pick which version of 3 to play with all the different features/content belonging to different versions and whatnot.
P4 doesn't really have that problem though. P4G holds up very well still and is already available everywhere pretty much.
Oh well, you can't rush greatness after all. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!
If this interferes with P6 I would rather have not gotten it first TBH
Feels like maybe P4 was announced because of leaks rather than because they wanted to announce it?
Not surprised about Stranger Than Heaven. It seemed like an early announcement.
So if P4R was announced but not arriving until 2027+, what the hell does that mean for Persona 6 which hasnβt been announced? P6 has to be getting closer to a reveal by now.
Hummm maybe summer next year for persona and early 2027 for stranger
Seeing legacy ip there is time for sakura wars remake!? Cmon sega please π
Don't care about P4 remake but Sega didn't talk about the new Streets of Rage, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Crazy Taxi that they announced 2 years ago at TGA makes me worry. Either these projects are very early when they announced it or they're in trouble.
@DennisReynolds or what??
@Drago201 It isn't like ALL of Atlus work on each title though... They consistent of:
Team Maniax (SMT)
P Studio (Persona)
Studio Zero (Metaphor)
These teams also usually have like 2 or 3 "Teams" within themselves making games.
I have a feeling they've been working on both Raidou games at the same time.
that means persona 6 isnt coming out until 2028 at the earliest. it will be another late console release which is typical of atlus in every console generation haha... ps6 will be out by then.
@CWill97 metaphor was announced as far back as 2016 and didn't release until 2024. persona 5 had a similarily long wait. this seems to be the general practice with these studios. but i agree, i don't think persona 6 will release before persona 4 remake... so it's looking like a 2028 crossgen game for ps5/ps6.
@Woods-PS Simple i won't buy it.
I might as well play the original Persona 4. I havenβt done so yet.
@CWill97 Games get announced too early all the time.
Thats weird I would have at least thought Stranger Than Heaven was next year because of how fast RGG gets their games out.
False! Stranger than Heaven is releasing yesterday with a fun spinoff coming tomorrow about how they're corporate pirates set adrift on a sea of rampant capitalism.
...
After the remake of three thank the gaming Gods. The grind of the tower was painful. I loved 5 but will never replay 3 good story terrible gameplay unless a hedonist.
@CWill97 Fiscal year 2027 isn't the same as 2027 FYI. Persona 4 Revival could come out in 2026, since FY 2027 lasts from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027
@Keyblade-Dan But why? P5 still sells well. They have no reason to release P6. It would just eat into sales of P5. There's a reason why they keep rereleasing it. Lol
Sounds like an effective way to avoid GTA6. Let Switch 2 players catch up on recent releases like P3R and Metaphor before GTA6 followed by P4R releasing on all platforms coming out a sizeable gap after GTA6.
Atlus was doing remakes before remakes were cool and are still doing them now that they are less cool
I was super psyched by the first trailer of stranger than heaven, but the follow up trailer was a huge letdown. It first looked like rgg were working off of a new or updated engine with improved shaders and animation, even if the trailer was prerendered. The actual game looks like it's using the same tech as the last 4 games (not including ishin as it was ue4).
If they push this game in the oven until 2027 to make it reflect that original trailer I'd be fine with it.
Sega generally has been mid for a while for me. I loved the Judgement titles but the new Yakuza games have lost me big time and it seems their unit sales have also stalled based on the leak, I mean Astrobot on PS5 alone outsold IW at this point and IW is the highest rated Yakuza game ever. Also, they've made a mess of Y0 on Switch by retconning deaths.
Persona has literally become the same game and is underwhelming as they all are now being shaped of P5.
Sonic is pretty cool right now with all the new stuff they're trying though for 70usd I don't think the new racer will do too good.
Metaphor recently crossed 2mil units in sales but it's already getting 40-50% discounts almost always which makes me feel it's under-performed by a bit (especially when clair obscur has similar reviews and basically cribbed their whole style has outperformed them in a month). The story was rubbish though and the game ran like ass despite looking like ass.
All this is to say: they are rushing games and need to focus on quality much more. They've been lucky so far that they haven't had the fanbase go Ubisoft repetition on their games.
