Koei Tecmo has announced Nioh 3 will release for PS5 in early 2026, but you can get a taste of the latest Team Ninja game in a time-limited demo available now. Catch the reveal trailer above, and play the demo between now and 18th June.
In the third entry, you'll play as a "young warrior poised to become the next Shogun", who can mix up their battle tactics between a samurai and a ninja. "Players will be able to switch between battle styles instantly at any time, playing in their preferred style in a storyline defined by the strong, the swift, and the wicked. Based on the tendencies of the enemies and stages, some players will prefer to switch seamlessly between Samurai and Ninja techniques, while others will choose to fight using only one style continuously based on the challenge ahead."

Nioh 3 is also said to be a more "open" game, with an "open field" that "offers a new freedom of exploration to the unique tension and confrontations that have become a defining characteristic of the Nioh series".

@Scottyy so what's the problem ? First of seem you have not played any of them and let me tell you. I've played Nioh 1 for around 500 hours and Nioh 2 for more than 1000 hours, but I've barely playes Wo Long and Ronin because they are not like Nioh at all so that's that.
Second, Why is this problem ? You didn't care to play old games (niohs, wo long and etc) so let the other enjoy them.
Here's hoping they have learned to drastically cut down on all the loot this time but I'm skeptical.
Either way, I'm feeling very meh about this.

Comfortably the best announcement of the entire state of play. Delighted it gets a much deserved third game.
The combat is fun in these games but the loot system is some of the worse in its field IMO. But I may be in the minority there. Still may give it a go because I’m a sucker though

@CWill97 Yeah the loot system in Nioh is some of the worst I've seen and it's annoying. Hopefully 3 fixes that.

@Nepp67 yeah that’d be great. I’m not tryna rip on the game, but the loot system is such a turn off. If it had simplified the gear system into just one of a kind finds through exploration & fights and was less daunting/time consuming, it’d be an even better experience. But I’m sure Tom’s love their loot system and trying to optimize stats/builds that way
Wasn’t excited when I read this, but watching that trailer brought me around. Hopefully we can get a Wo Long 2 at some point.

@Ryu_Niiyama There is actually although you cannot customize it right now in the alpha, only the gender.
Did they mention if you get a unique armor /weapons if you beat the endboss in the demo and import the save to the game when released as they did with Nioh and Nioh 2??.
I save my "save" on my PS5 just in case.
The performance leaves much to be desired which is strange since nioh 2 runs very well on ps5.
