I'm just here to enjoy the schadenfraude from watching Crystal Dynamic's greed bite them.

Anyone else play this game till the wheels fell off (meaning until they got completely bored of it) or is that just me?

I like 5 the best. I'd say San Andreas but that mission with the motorcycle and the train gives me Vietnam War style flashbacks.

The most surprising thing about this trailer to me is that the same Grumbles from the story are STILL eating the Bugsnax?? Have you learned nothing!? xD

I predict they'll try to release it in a window that coincides with No Way Home's release.

A more nuanced answer to the poll for me is, "No, I've platinumed Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 and have no desire to pay more to revisit it"

I'm not sure I'm going to give this game a second glance until 2022, which was apparently when the developers thought the game would be done before the marketing team ran loose. And these patch notes just keep validating that choice.

This is my most anticipated game, no contest. So it just frustrates me there's been zero communication until now. I can take delays but waiting for news past the spring was agonizing

@Bleachedsmiles I'm also a Switch owner so I've seen the Nintendo stans defending the corporations and it's annoying. Sad to see it's happening for Sony too. People are so obsessed with the idea that negative feedback is toxic that they don't realize it can happen in the other direction.

@Grimwood I wouldn't go THAT far, but it is an interesting choice imo. The exclusives being exclusive is a major contributing factor to what made the PS4 dominate. The choices theyre making this gen just seem so weird to me. Like they're going out of their way to undo what made them so successful last gen.

E3 sucked and Nintendo had the best show by far, but was still kinda "Meh". People say Xbox was great but I think it was overblown. They learned from Sony by doing the game-after-game reveal which was good strategy, but the game reveals were "meh". Very little gameplay and when there was, then just guns guns guns and dull color palettes.

I have the game, but at this point, I'm waiting on the PS5 version to launch and use the free upgrade. That feels like when it'll be the most complete.

It looks like a ton of fun, but me personally, im already getting sick of seeing the black-and-white washed-out grimdark aesthetic. I really hope this isn't where gaming's going because I already miss colors.

Absolutely. It's annoying because I've learned to ignore it, then forget it has the low battery until I'm in the middle of something and it dies on me. Led to some grisly deaths on Nioh Collection.

People feel like thats a lie? I mean, I guess for me, I've just perceived it as video games take time to develop. So I'm sure a ton of these have been in the works for the PS4 years and we'll start seeing more PS5 exclusive games next year

I would be shocked, SHOCKED, if this didn't come out on the PS5.

Huh, as of right now, looks like a Super Mario 64-esque 3D platformer with the treasures replacing the stars. Fun idea if that's what they're going for.

Currently playing Nioh 1 via the Nioh Collection on the PS5. Completely shocked at how thoroughly addictive it is and how good it feels to play. Got a feeling that this and the sequel will keep me busy for a while.

I'm annoyed, because some reviewers have held it up as the first PS5 game that feels like a true next-gen game. But I don't want to throw $70 at it. Soooo waiting for sale.

Read an article recently about how RPGs have a hard time staying away from the fantasy/LOTR aesthetic. I'm loving that so many recent announcements have them branching out from it.

@nessisonett Imo it was always a mixed bag. Yeeeeah there were some bad ones but there was also How to Train Your Dragon, Kung-Fu Panda, and Shrek was pretty decent. Abominable is gorgeous too, but now there looks like... Nothing. Theres the Boss Baby Sequel, the Spirit sequel, the Puss in Boots sequel, and a new IP.

Seeing the trailer for Resident Evil 4 VR gives me hope. This might be the gen I get into VR.

@nessisonett I came into the comments just to say that. Then I saw the upcoming line-up for Dreamworks theatrical films, and this may be premature, buuuuuut the mighty seems to have fallen.

@wiiware You said it! JRPG's just seem to have this sort of quality to them, even the lackluster ones.

I'd be mildly interested in this if it included Funimation or something like that. But I'm already overwhelmed by streaming and this is NOT an answer to Game Pass. This is like when the Xbox One was initially marked as an all-in-one entertainment system. I'm a gamer, tantalize me with gaming news.

@Robinsad Haha I understand. And I'm not sure, I just like the prospect of super fast loading times. And I will say, since having my PS5, I've still played a ton of ps4 games and have not had to worry or think about loading ever since

@Robinsad PS4 games don't benefit from the fast loading unless they're on the internal ssd.

@get2sammyb For me it was a PS4 Disc thing. I always moved them over to internal before playing to benefit from PS5 stuff. Then if I either ejected before deleting or deleting before ejecting (Can't remember which one now), then the gray square always appeared. But if I did it vice versa, "the right way", then it wouldn't appear.

Gave up online gaming years ago after the rampant toxicity in Overwatch. Heard they fixed it a couple years ago with something similar to the PS5 Accolades but meh

The HDMI Device Link and the Library hiding are massive QoL's for me. Love it!

@Lenny0521 Well everyone agrees that the 1.2 patch is a big step forward but not near enough yet. It's even mentioned in the article.

@solocapers I mean, they can still do it on PS4/XBO consoles without it being a "crap experience". It would just be what we've been used to in the past with current-gen vs. next-gen games. Like the equivalent of getting a game that was released on PS3 and PS4.

My point is they dont need to get it up to the same standards as the next-gen consoles even though that's a standard that's been set by other games. They just need it playable enough so PS4/XBO owners can have access to it despite not having a next-gen console. But definitely shouldn't scrap it.

@solocapers Problem with that is that most people still don't have their hands on next-gen consoles. So that would just be intentionally isolating people who were promised a good experience with the game.

I absolutely believe they can turn the game around. The pieces are all there, just unfinished

I'm waiting for the update where the fix the Evolution mechanic. Game as a whole is a ton of fun, but evolutions require a ton of unnecesary grinding

Wooooow, didn't expect the low score. I mean, I expected not to like it but I thought Oddworld was one of those series that most people liked that I just didn't get.

I was hoping after it happened several times, the console hubris cycle would end. But it looks like it's just gonna keep happening. Sony's got a massive ego due to how well they've been doing and they're making horrible decisions. Meanwhile Microsoft's buying a ton of game studios including Bethesda, doing Gamepass, making moves that seems like they learned from the Xbox One, etc. Seems like either Mid-PS5 cycle or the next gen are going to go the way of the PS3.

Meh, never. I'm a broken record at this point, I know. But a friend of mine told me they hate shortcuts because typically they fail and you have to take an even longer path to make the difference. That's what this was. They tried to take the "easy route" of making a ton of money with live service and now they're scrambling to make the difference.

Meanwhile, if this would've been a genuine passion project like the actual MCU, they would've been able to swim in all the money thrown their way like Scrooge McDuck

The review nailed it. Greed sunk this game. Who on Earth thought it would be a good idea to make this a live service rpg instead of an entertaining single-player romp?

Embracing the year of the backlog and playing Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. Thoroughly amazed at how good it feels to play
