We told you this would happen! 2021 has already been littered with delay announcements up until this point, and the latest project to be pushed back is Gotham Knights — the co-op enabled action title that's very reminiscent of the Batman Arkham games (although it doesn't take place in the same universe, apparently).
To be fair, though, we've seen very little of Gotham Knights. It was first revealed in August last year, promising a PlayStation 5 and PS4 release in 2021. As it turns out, developer Warner Bros. Games Montreal wants to give the game more time "to deliver the best possible experience to players". It'll have more to show in the coming months.
Did you see this one coming? Reschedule your trip to Gotham in the comments section below.

Ahh well. It didn’t look fantastic but a delay’s to be expected given the year we’ve all had.
No surprise....
This yr is the yr of BACKLOG
Not gonna lie, I am kind of regretting my purchase of the ps5. I feel like I could of waited until 2022. I just don't have many reasons to play it after I completed demon souls.
Gosh daylight savings time is really effecting the gaming industry huh
@zimbogamer SMH. You’d rather play games on the Pro? Hell the 60fps option many of these games offer is more than enough reason to own a PS5 and we definitely have Returnal and RnC coming.
Playing Valhalla and Immortals in 60fps was miles better than what the Pro offers.
Edit: Also remember that there not being a ton of PS5 exclusives is what the majority wanted. Remember all the whining about how the PS4 still has life in it, or how people just bought a PS4 and it’s not right that Sony releases exclusives to the PS5?
I remember that BS. I got tore into over saying that I strongly support generations, the PS4 has had 7 years of content and that is enough. I want all exclusives to be built solely for the PS5.
I feel the same way for all of these delays of games I am looking forward to:
1.I am glad the team is taking the time to make the best game possible.
2.It is still a bummer, because I was looking forward to playing it this year.
2020-2021 rinse and repeat.
Nooooooo figured it would happen and is ultimately for the best also I still have loads of games I purchased but haven't even played yet on my backlog but nooooooo
It's okay, 2021 will be the year of finishing backlog
I dont think we had a solid 2021 release date anyways. Oh well 2022 is looking busy for games. 2021 year of the backlog.
Well that sucks. But as others said, I'm actually playing my back log this year, which is kind of a new sensation
Yeah I called this!
@OmegaStriver Same. Nonexistent loading times have been a literal gamechanger for me.
@OmegaStriver i mean it's just my opinion. If you are enjoying the ps5 then good for you. I just feel like they could of waited another year for the release of the ps5.
@MidnightDragonDX I've got like 200+ digital games each on psn and steam lol, but there's some games that I really want to finish like most ps4 exclusives and metroidvania
I thought it was already a 2022 title, or was I thinking of The Suicide Squad?
2022 could be a busy year for games, I’m not too worried though, still have FFVIIRI, Returnal, R&C, Horizon 2, Scarlet Nexus, REVIII, Deathloop etc,.. to look forward to this year, and my PS5 backlog is growing already
@OmegaStriver i'm with you..all these people who say they regret being very, very lucky to get their ungrateful little mitts on a ps5 can just take a flying f.....leap! I love my ps5 and i love playing my ps4 backlog on my ps5...4k movies wow..yeah no point having one at all..any how i'm really looking forwards to this game as i personally think it looks epic..
@Northern_munkey I plan on buying It Takes Two, Deathloop, Returnal, RnC, Little Devil Inside, Back 4 Blood, and Kena leading into September as long as they don’t turn out to be trash or delayed. Dude I’m ready.
I edited my first statement by saying the fact that there aren’t a ton of PS5 exclusives is exactly what a large portion of gamers wanted. As of the last year and half I read a ton of whining comments saying it’s not right that Sony would abandon the PS4 and they should do cross-gen. They whined about it and it’s working out that way.
I fully supported dropping the PS4 as its had 7 years of games and its time to put full effort into the PS5, but, many don’t feel the same way I do. I got tore into multiple times over it. I fully support generations.
Edit: I forgot RE Village. Outriders was on my list but now it’s a wait and see.
I just dont understand the whole mentality behind people who have managed to snag a ps5 and then go on to bemoan how they regret being an early adopter..there are some truly stunning upgraded ps4 games..ghost of tsushima, god of war to name 2 that are worth having a ps5 for..i think some people deliberatly try to be controversal but just look stupid and ungratefull instead...balls to them..
@wiiware Yep. Currently playing Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the first time. That tells you all you need to know.
@anon_pel222 I just finished Infamous First Light if that does paint a picture of my BC problems nothing will. 🤪
@OmegaStriver I really want too play Returnal and Demon Souls but i dont have a PS5 yet. 😢
@wiiware Thats one thing about being a kid being happy without being worried about the newest games and playing too have fun. 😁
Now you have so many great games but somehow i get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choice.
I look at my shelf more thinking what will i finish instead off what do i want too play. Just finished Infamous First Light and I'm ashamed the game is short and so much fun too traverse in. I had it since the releasedate....
@Flaming_Kaiser I recommend following @PS5stockalerts on Twitter. If you have someone to help you and already have accounts linked to all the stores you think you’d want to buy from will increase the likelihood you will get one.
@Flaming_Kaiser I have all the time in the world when I'm still little kid but no money, now I can buy most games but have no time lol. But man kids this days have it easy, rather than spending $60 to play 1 games they can either spend either $60/year (psnow) or $15 permonth (gamepass) to play a lot of games. Buying one game back then is a really big decision lol.
I finished infamous 2nd son but still haven't finished first light. Infamous 2nd son traversal is really fun, although I don't understand why we have to choose only one power and can't activated all of the traversals at once (so we can run fast and fly for example).
@Flaming_Kaiser Watch Jake Randall on YouTube - he helped me and literally tens of thousands of people get PS5s. Dude is super positive and helpful.
@anon_pel222 If I had a nickle for every year that phrase was tossed around
With all these games getting delayed it's not so bad that I can't get hold of a ps5, with any luck they will be readily available in 2022.
Mind looks like it could be a paperweight for those who got one if games keep getting delayed
@everynowandben @OmegaStriver I just bought a SSD and placed it in my PS4 and im going too do the same with my PS4 Pro and finish my backlog. i really want them too put the the option too make a local backup.
@wiiware First Light is even more awsome in traversing the city. You can get it cheap its a blast and brilliant fun for the price its great fun its cheap and short and a easy Platinum. 😁
RIP to Gotham Knight's original 2021 release window.
Hopefully the delay will give the devs time to polish out the story and gameplay more.
