Said it before and will say it again. Uncritical and mindless ps5pro buyers will be the reason why we'll get to pay premium for ps6. Sony will know that it'll get away with unreasonable price hikes. That's why I don't feel one bit sorry that you're not getting your money's worth. Power and performance is not what makes a console good, but ya fanboys won't get it in your thick skulls.
I was nervous about it possibly missing split screen co-op, but thank goodness it's there! Best memories beating this on legendary with my best friend. Time to get on the couch again next year!
@Dogbreath I found the sp Dev comments cringey, however: western game devs... Extremists (with burner accounts)... said victim and the movement he promoted... benevolent... mhm
@MrHabushi I can run a low spec game on a PC, lower the TDP and keep Res and framerate the same until a certain point. Of course that won't work on a AAA game that fires on all cylinders but as the other user said, simple games shouldn't show an impact, but that's up to Devs on console, unlike users tweaking these things on PC.
@Ludacritz yeah, shallow virtue signalling sucks, but that usually comes from corporations who use it mostly as PR gags, though in this case I think it's more about prepping for portable hardware.
However, government regulation in the EU has led to some consumer and environmentally friendly decisions, like usb c Standard, changeable batteries, right to repair and required updates and product support for 5 years starting at production end. These are just a few positive EU laws that come to mind.
Shuhei's got a good point. Why is any innovation that isn't base gaming performance considered a gimmick!? It's all about the implementation. That's why the ps6 should just be a single handheld device with a dock. Maybe the true innovation is bringing in all current device functionality into a single device:
Portal: PS6 is a handheld
Home console: Egpu dock for handheld
VR/AR: detach controllers and put the display into an optional affordable headset. Works wireless or over cable.
Best part of this comment section is how many don't get czar's sarcasm. More mindnumbingly stupid is how somebody wants to make a boogeyman out of ESG.
Agree that this was a good decision. However hope they ignore the unjustified complaints about the "padding" in rebirth and make part 3 just as expansive.
Why can Like a dragon have all the side content in the world, but FF7 can't!? It's optional yet still well integrated. If it would be gone people would complain about length or linearity. I swear people just love to complain and Square enix should just ignore these moronic unconstructive voices.
@belmont it's a question of mass adoption. The gaming market is brute forcing graphics on PCs with unoptimized games, where so much unused power hungry performance is not properly used. Consoles are more elegant with a closed system that doesn't need to be scaled. But Arm can seriously be the future, perhaps even paired with beefy GPUs if one really needs all that performance when stationary. There has barely been a noteworthy leap within the x86 APU space as this video shows. The next step up would be that beefy amd ai max+, but that thing is too power hungry and doesn't go well with low TDPs. No, I don't want to see an apple hardware future, but open platform Arm is a good thing.
@nomither6 sure, there's always some captain obvious who looks at both and enlights us all how the switch looks like crap next to a home console or pc. But what should I say... twits.
I don't really get the pc handheld Vs ps5 comparison. It's like comparing a vespa with a muscle car.
What is however quite telling is the miniscule difference between the 3,5 year old steam deck and a new, 1000€, big company backed handheld. The pc handheld market has just pushing prices upward, seeing what they could get away with, and it's just sick.
Another point that irks me is just how ***** the x86 (classic PC) architecture is. You got arm (android) processors running more current pc games, emulated, at passable to well playable performance at good battery runtimes. Just imagine that! The average pc handheld will get you 1-2 hours with only slightly better performance. And we're still talking early days of android pc emulation. Just go check out some emulation footage on a snapdragon 8 elite via game hub... it's a game changer.
At this point, why are we still even considering x86 for handhelds, or even console/desktops.
So glad SHf gets the love it deserves and even beats out silksong. Silksongs great and all, but I got so tired of the relentless hype around it asking about it. Just way out of proportion for a good Metroidvania.
I've seldomly been so amazed by a game's story as much as with silent hill f. Maybe not the story a manosphere infected gaming community can broadly digest but a relevant one for that, despite the game playing in the 60s. And don't get it wrong, this is a silent hill game through and through that sits comfortably next to the best of the series. Silent hill is defined by it's themes and not by it's setting.
The only time I felt that things felt samey was around the time of days gone and tlou2, there's plenty of variety though. It reflects poorly when one just picks the examples that serves ones point.
On base ps5 both sh 2 and f the graphics are sharp enough to look good on a big 4k TV and the frame rate's smooth except for a short stutter while auto saving.
Don't know what everyone is on about, but the obsessive scrutiny on frames and resolution is really taking the fun out of gaming for many it seems.
I seldomly buy digital (usually dlc), and I still managed to get 5€ vouchers multiple times, just by booting a few games via PS plus streaming. PS Stars was a good program which got me to play some games that I perhaps wouldn't have tried otherwise, though it didn't get me to buy more digital.
The dub is good, people are just not used to British English in Japanese games or anime, but thinking about it, it's a better fit for the feudal setting. I noticed the same reactions towards the Xenoblade Chronicles games, especially 2 which had a bunch of Welsh and Irish V.O.s which was so cool, but people equated it to bad dubbing, which really wasn't the case.
Personally find German to Dub Japanese really well because they've got honorifics.
@LazyDaisy I sure hope so, but as of late hardware prices just feel stagnant. We've been accustomed to having the older generation of hardware become cheaper and the new generation take the olds original price (range). Nowadays the old gen remains the same price and the follow-up just ends up more expensive. We've seen it with the switch 1, phones, pc handhelds, graphic cards, etc.
Of course the whole tariff situation, post COVID, war, etc comes to play too. However I feel many industries just use these factors as an excuse to experiment and see where consumers "breaking point" is, and in that regard I feel many overzealous consumers have failed to send companies a clear message that there's a limit and replaced it with a fry "shut up and take my money" meme.
So hyped for this. The only right way to play it though is at 30fps with some film like filters to make it truly cinematic. The fast frame rate kills the vibe. I'll keep 60fps for the multiplayer.
@nessisonett Yakuza 3 is amazing. The Okinawa setting is my favourite and it's got some of the best humour without being outlandish like lad and pirate yakuza games, that merely do it for meme culture.
Personally was hoping for a kenzan remake or an anime spin off like fist of the north star. I think Lone Wolf and cub or JoJo's bizarre adventure would be great fits for studio rgg.
What's up with people demanding the voice actors portraying the same character live action!? I mean sure, nothing against Tom Holland, but he was a meh choice for uncharted, but picking voice actors just for voice parity is even worse.
My fantasy casting director draft would be Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. He was a great Dr. Manhattan in the HBO Watchmen.
@wildcat_kickz yeah, good that they still keep going strong despite all the f2p competition. I enjoyed r6 and splinter cell myself back in the PS2, PS3 era, though never for it's plot though.

Re: All PS5 Games with Power Saver Support
@Ludacritz so the option to save some power is a bad thing if I understand you correctly?

@MrHabushi not necessarily if the game leaves lots of headroom in the normal power mode.

Don't besmirch kpdh with Fortnite! Generally, crossovers in every game are very lame. I'm baffled people actually resonate with it.
Re: This Exciting PS5 Single Player Game Is Not Resident Evil, But It Sure Looks Like It
If it gets a John Wick style shooting & melee gameplay right I don't care what other obvious inspirations it took.

Re: Rumour: Yakuza 0: Director's Cut Coming to PS5 This Year After Stint of Switch 2 Exclusivity
