Filming for God of War’s live action adaptation will supposedly get underway early next year, but we still haven’t heard a peep about the project’s casting plans.
We know Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore is on deck as showrunner, with a writing room that includes various scribes from his Apple TV+ series For All Mankind.
But the role of Kratos will be key, as he has such a distinctive look and build that any error in this area could break the show.
However, voice actor Christopher Judge – who plays the character in the more recent Norse era games – appears to have ruled himself out of the Amazon Prime series.

He was touted as a potential candidate for the character in a YouTube video posted by movie insider John Campea.
But when that was picked up by Covered Geekly and shared on social media, Judge questioned: “I am [in talks for the role]?” He signed off the message with a slew of shrugging emojis.
Campea also listed the likes of Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as other potential candidates, but it’s unclear how accurate his information actually is.
Assuming filming really is set to get underway early next year, though, we should learn about official casting news fairly soon.
