The fixes planned for Silent Hill 2 when running on a PS5 Pro have ended up in the hands of Konami, instead of Bloober Team. The developer said "publishing matters are handled by Konami" when asked about optimisation issues on a PS5 Pro, insinuating it's not got anything to do with the fixes anymore.
Previously, back in May, the Polish team said it was "working with the publisher on a solution and will share more details as soon as we have them". Now, it's directing information requests to Konami.

Silent Hill 2 was tagged as a PS5 Pro Enhanced game at launch, but alongside the likes of Silent Hill F and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the title actually performs worse on the upgraded console. A "shimmering" effect is present on PS5 Pro that can become a distraction while playing. The issues have led some PS5 Pro users to voice their frustrations over paying more money for a system that's running some titles worse than the base PS5.
